I’ve had a recurring issue with the UI not showing other team members HP bars not showing.
I love the new build diversity. It feels like i can try new things that before would never work, and they don’t do half bad. Ele Conjure/fire aura for example, has been pretty different, and while I’ve had mixed results, it was awesome to try something new.
I think the one thing that has REALLY suffered, is the poor new people, who just aren’t really good at pvp to begin with (and in some cases, will never get really good). Speccing heavy tanking, or shout warrior made it so they could stay in the game long enough to learn. For us vets, we already know how to dodge, and what to expect. For players who are just meh, I think there should be a little more love. The ones i play with who i got into this really don’t like the insane punishment for being new.
Otherwise, i love this. As a vet, I love this. Going forward would really love to see vit/tough being a viable spec, or almost necessary for some people. But its been good so far.
So I wanted your guys opinion of Toughness and vitality in the new patch. With the insanely sky rocketed damage, it seems like this would push people towards more of those specs, over berserker. But is that a good trade off?
I primarily play thief, and am still doing zerk p/d panic strike, well, as close as the new patch will allow, and it seems like I’m playing the glassiest cannoniest build ever. I can spike someone down almost instantly, and die in the blink of an eye. Its interesting, and sometimes its ridiculously fun in 1v1. Its not totally OP given the immense trade off (IMO), and team play is kinda rough because a good AoE is death.
I was wondering if, as we go into a new high spike/condi damage meta, whether tough/vit will be a good counter to zerker, or do you think that zerker and immense spike dps will continue to rule pvp?
Ya but you shouldn’t rely on a good thief to just hunt pew pew rangers. Its too easy. WAY too easy. They just need to tone down the spike damage from rapid fire. Thats all. One skill that is a long range point and click that channels and follows a target even when stealthed, should NOT be so powerful. Tone it back. ALOT. and the PvP community should never “just be ok with it because its been here a while”. People whined constantly over turret engie, and now its gone (well, its alot harder now).
Anyone who has played PvP in the last few months has seen the pew pew ranger. You know, the one that sleeps on his keyboard and wins? Don’t get me wrong, it’s not invulnerable. But it’s SO BROKEN.
Way back when, I decided I must have been playing wrong, that there is some easy way to beat a power ranger. Looked up the build. And i said “Wow, i need a ranger. Theres no way its this easy.” And it was. 245 rinse and repeat. Its so easy to play that I got bored and played something more fun.
But I still see this in game. Its STILL BROKEN. I would think that this would be nerfed by now. Its not a big change, just tone down the damage. There are fun and awesome ways to play a ranger, but the one pew pew ranger on a team can change everything. You should see the laughable 5 pew pew ranger teams I’ve put together. Its sad.
Fix it? Please?

Not that the times are “Pacific Time”. I am in CENTRAL Time. That means the last test is 5:30pm to 730pm
well I’m in central time. The last test is from 5:30-7:30pm. I have work till after that. Kinda bumps us 9-5 people out completely. Just seems like a poor time to do it. Could have added another block on later.
1 whole day would have worked better. Poor EU players got really screwed over :C
I’m actually very disappointed with A-Net. I won’t be able to be on during this “test window”. So, farming and all that, there was no point? Getting excited for something new and cool to be one of the first to try was totally pointless?
GW2 is an amazing game, and in general, A-Net has been an awesome company with fantastic design ideas and even better implementation. But this is quite upsetting. I normally don’t post just to complain, but this is seriously messed up.
I think that they have dealt a real blow to the people who are essentially their most hardcore players. Realistically, it wont stop them from playing or throwing piles of money at them. I know i won’t. But this was a bad move, and it kinda hurts. Just wanted to say that.

Any ideas? Can i turn this into a new legendary weapon?

I have been having HUGE problems with actually, my connection. I have also done everything freaken thing in the world to fix it (and i mean EVERYTHING, short of replacing hardware in my comp, which is my next step). But i found connectivity problems. Do a IP pathping, and check it at your ISP level. Thats what i found to be a issue. Related? I’m not sure. But its an issue. Youy can find a related forum topic somewhere around here on how to do it. It should have a ArenaNet responce

Most programs, regardless of where they are installed, even to a secondary HD, will still install part of themselves on the main boot drive (IE your C drive). Youll always need space on that one no matter what.

15fps is kinda the norm tho for most players. I normally play at 15. thats easy. 1 fps is a bit more challenging ;P
So im having a crapton of lag recently (apparently Texas at&t U-verse dont like Anet right now). Im attempting pvp, which has been rather amusing. When i would get into combat I would always think “If i kill this guy, Im either amazing, or this guy sucks.” Apparently LOTS of people in pvp REALLY suck, bc im terrible at pvp, and if im having 1fps and i can kill you 1v1, then you need to try harder.
Instead of raging at my comp and flaming chat, ive taken it as kind of a challenge. Its fun to try to guess where people are going to be. What will this person do next? where will they dodge? If i was them, when would i use a skill? Its also got to be hilarious watching me wander away from combat and flail wildly at a guy who was there 5 seconds ago. Maybe it makes me harder to hit?
Anyways, so heres the idea: A ultimate PvP mode where every player is given forced lag!

FINALLY!!!! Im having EXTREME lag too!! Im actually in texas. I thought it was just me. Ive been having awful terrible time with this crap!!. I contacted ANet, but they said it was packet loss. Its just this game! I have other computers on the network that run just fine though, which is the really weird part
I have: reset router physically and through my browser, tried different plugs, different cords, tried wireless USB adapters, re installed the game twice, reinstalled windows twice, contacted my ISP (at&t uverse), ran speedtests, updated all my drivers meticulously.

I suddenly had a issue today. My game slowed to almost a halt (less than 1fps). When i quit and tried to restart my client, the game would barely load. What is more, my computer would also barely run. opening chrome would take a minute or more. This problem would continue until i disconected this computers internet connection completely. when i would reconnect, the problem suddenly went away. Until i restarted GW. It would run fine for about 15 seconds, then quickly slow down until i was unplayable again. And then the whole computer would grind to a halt.
I have a very good computer (relatively speaking) and have had no problems with the game until a few hours ago.
Ive reset my adapter (LAN), reset the router, checked other programs that are running (all of which ive closed down and tried again, still same issue). I have isolated it to GW, and GW alone.
I have another PC on my network that is has no issue with the game.
Dunno what to do. Please let me know if you guys have any idea how to fix the game, or if a ANET employee can help
and obviously you havent played the spider queen recently. Ive had full teams with all ascended/legendary items wipe over and over again. Used to beat easy till anet changed it
if an even t happens then you just ignore it and move on most of the time. 90% of the time i see one i dont even bother because it will escalate into a larger and larger event chain
You all are missing the point. map completion isnt that hard. Its the events that are too difficult to solo
Im just complaining at this point. Its just going to invite more l2p players. Anet will never get off their butts and fix world map stuff. they just want people to keep playing end game stuff to keep them busy so they will spend real $. They have suceeded at much, and many of the things that made this a great game have become lost
even dungeons have become stupid. All of them are filled with exploits that anet barely keeps up with fixing and instead of fixing things like path finding, they just buff basic damage. The queen spider in AC for example, and the door they added in COF p1. Lame fixes that just force players to find other exploits.
The worst part is that it forces out newbies from, being to learn dungeons because the farmers just want in and out and dont want to teach new people. Especially people under 80
the point is that if no non experienced player can start to play one because its designed to be for only mmo players then the game is a nitch that no one will be able to get into. which makes it an awful game for new to comp players. Im great at dodging and aoe and i still get ganked while kiting.
If the game is only built to cater to the meta then its a very poor design.
Dont get me wrong, im not saying that gw isnt a great game, because it really is, but its just to geared towards players with high level equipment now, and has too ridiculous of a learning curve.
Regular events that you find should be complete able for a regular casual player. not for a dungeon farming ascended gear warrior. other wise it is a very poor design, and almost all content is lost. they took a very very good idea and tweaked it into an unusable game mechanic.
As for forum talk, half of the people on here have been ‘l2p’ people who have no real advice to give. This game is now all about meta and that spills over into the regular content of the game such as map completion

Actually, i just realize theres no reason for me to post this. Players who have been at this for a while are just going to suggest meta exploits that fix the problem in no way, and anet is more worried about keeping the end game going.

If its a l2p issue like everyone says then this is a problem doubly so. how is a player who is decent not able to do it, vs someone who just started the game.
Noobs should be able to beat events. Ya starter area events are simple enough, but when you get to about 20 or 30 they get very difficult for a noob. Without this the game loses play ability, story, and content
no the point of all of this is that just regular events late game require insane amounts of time, or are simply pointlessly impossible. for example, killing a champion and adds.
When i play my warrior none of this is a problem, because warriors are rediculous. But im trying it on a zerk mes. But his has always applied to all classes.
The hearts are fine. those dont need to be tweaked, just events.
It kills alot of game content if you have to have a party to play non end game
Ive been doing map completing and ive noticed that much of the world requires a party. Events are practically impossible by yourself, and doubly so for skill challenges.
I think it needs to be more content available to the solo player, other wise all it is is questing hearts.
(btw im AP 4k+, with 4 lvl 80’s all specced exotics, almost dungeon master, and have just really started map completing, so im fairly sure i know what im doing)

Boo on equiptment preview limitations!
I noticed that while in a norn elite form, you cant move while using any of the attacks. It makes it very hard to do anything while using it. I dont know if this was intentional or not, but its frustrating.
