I have tried Nemesis’s glass cannon build. It really just lacks too much survivability. Especially for dungeons and fractals where survivability is very necessary.
The Damage Hybrid build is really good though, it’s what I run 100% of the time.
It gains survivability because you invest in celestial ascended gear (Celestial gives all stats, rather than just 3, on trinkets). And doesn’t lack power or condition damage either.
Basically you use a scepter/dagger to apply bleeds and then swap to axe/focus to do your burst damage (And death shroud).
I have also tried the condition build, but it’s lack of burst damage is no good for dungeons either, because in a lot of dungeons you have to attack bosses that can’t be conditioned (so you’d become useless) like the boss in the ice fractal and final boss in CoF P2 and etc.
Definitely check out Nemesis’s damage hybrid build.
I like both.
However I don’t want dungeons to be neglected at all, neither the open world. They both have their places. As people have already said, dungeons require a commitment of time and of 5 people. Open world events people can come and go as they please.
I do like dungeons because it requires more strategies and teams working together and communicating.
My Necromancer named Princess Midna of the Far Shiverpeaks server.
The skirt is ‘Whispers Leggings’ from Order of the Whispers armory, and the top is from the trading post called ‘Winged Tunic’. Gloves and boots are from the Vigil Armory, Demon Masque from character creation and shoulders are hidden.
Tried to base my character off Princess Midna from Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, because she’s Princess of the Twili Realm and the Twili use dark magic (Kind of like a necromancer). The only problems came that we can’t wear big dark cloaks in GW2 and light blue pale skin isn’t available for humans, also Midna’s orange hair and hood didn’t work. So I just stayed with the Demon Masque and dark hair.
Hope you enjoy!
I think this sounds like a great idea for a condition, it would have to last a fair amount of time, at least 8 seconds or longer though.
It’s a good idea because it fits so well with class description. How would this condition be applied though? Epidemic and the death shroud number 5?
I’m interested to know how it works too. Especially on bosses like Melandru with 10+ people, or dungeons with 5 people. There are a lot of stacks of bleeds, and it wouldn’t make sense for weaker bleeds to cancel out my stronger bleeds when I have investment in Condition Damage.
I’m especially interested because my main character is a Necromancer called Princess Midna, that focuses on bleeds and such. (Mainly following Nemesis’s build)
Perhaps we should gain a couple of achievement points each time we level up after level 80?
Just a thought. I don’t think that the issue is that we get achievement points from dailies and monthlies. I think we just don’t get them from enough different areas.
I have the same problem, along with a fair few other people as it seems.
The game was completely fine several hours ago. What has Anet changed? xD
I have the same problem. Guild wars 2 was running fine this morning. I went to mow the lawn, came back login is fine, character select menu comes up as normal, but when I click play it stays on the loading screen inevitably .
I’ve tried selecting a different character, restarting my computer and I’m already out of ideas.
I’m fairly sure it’s not a problem on my end as my connection is completely fine, and nothing was changed on my computer. But it’s just now GW2 doesn’t work.
Do you guys think part of the problem is that everything is soul-bound on equip?
I mean, that makes it impossible to sell all your equipment, to upgrade to the next tier. If things weren’t soul-bound you could just sell up now or later, and upgrade.
I definitely agree with adding more skills to weapons so that you can choose which 5 you prefer, out of say 10. (Kind of like how the utility skills work I guess).
It would add more personalization and perhaps if you just disliked one of the skills. For example I’m an elementalist and don’t find myself using my ‘burning retreat’ skill very often because it’s basically just a dodge (Which I can already use by pressing ‘v’) that adds a burn if somebody walks over it. If I could alternate that for something more useful it could be good. I’m sure other classes find a few weapon abilities that they would like to be able to swap out.
“b) Add more abilites per weapon – but you can only use 5”
I can’t say I really agree with the other things you’ve mentioned though. A lot of them just sound like WoW features, mounts, raids etc.
A Necromancer was my first class, and I got all the way to level 80 and played it even further than that for a few weeks. Until it came to me that my next goal would be to get a legendary and then I realized how silly the Bifrost would look on my dark Necromancer… Lol.
So I started again as an elementalist, and got that one to 80 now too, so I really just changed my main character because of this funny kind of situation.
Half of the problem is that Legendaries are literally the only thing to aim for once you’ve been level 80 for over a week.
7/10 for Godric Holt, it is a human name there’s no disputing that, “Holt” also reminded me of a Prime-Minister of Australia over 50 years ago called “Harrold Holt” xD
My Human Elementalist is named Princesss Zelda.
