I don’t like spam as much as the next person. But there is no dungeon finder so we have to LFG. But every time I get suppressed. The thing is, I don’t spam, I do it like once every couple minutes but still get suppressed after doing it about 5 times. On top of that the suppression seems to last a long time.
Since there is no dungeon finder I would like to suggest that you go a little more relaxed on suppressing messages. Thanks.

If I run path 1 of a dungeon with a lvl 80 can I run path 1 again with a different character and still get the +40 token bonus or is that bonus account bound?

Can someone please teach me how are we supposed to fight him in that tiny room of front door? The last battle.
You simply do not have any space to dodge the earth spike and his aoe covers the whole room. I can do him just fine in the other paths, dying only 2~1 times, but i died dozens of time in that part
You’re making a common mistake. You seem to think you have to dodge out of the circles, which you do NOT have to do. All you have to do is dodge, any-which-way, a second after you see the circles on the ground. In fact it’s easiest to just get in close, and dodge into him and keep wailing away. The circles can also be blocked with aegis. If you have aegis on you, don’t even bother dodging, save it for the next time.
Most groups I’ve been in wipe because when they see the red circles everywhere they scatter all over the place in panic. Then he’ll get party members with the crystals ect. Stay together, and in close, even when dodging.
So it’s clear that certain dungeons are being run way more than others for the gear. Particularly CoF… and it’s because their gear is on fire which is cool. but I think you could up the anty a little bit by doing some of the following.
Make Crucible of Eternity (Inquest) armor have a little spark that goes around, must like the inquest weapons.
The Ascalonian Catacombs armor you could add a little ghastly effect to helm or shoulder piece, much like the weapons.
I guess the point is, you could add some of the weapon effects to some armor parts in other dungeons to help make the armor more desirable and thus get more people to run them.
It’s nothing major, just a nice little touch would do wonders.

I’ve only been doing CoE explorable so I don’t know how other explorable modes compare but.. alpha does seem easiest on the submarine path. The key is to have everyone get in close, even if they are ranged. That way, everyone can rez someone who has fallen, break cystals ect, it’s all right there if you bunch up.
Plus keep in mind that you don’t need to panic when you see red circles. More imporantly you don’t need to dodge out of the cicles to avoid the attacks. You just need to dodge when the attack is about to go off but you can still be instead the mass circles, and should more often than not in this dungeon. Just dodge into the guy and keep wailing away.
Also if you have stability on yourself he can’t put you in the crystals and if you are thief, steal takes you out of the crystals. Hope all that helps.
All paths are worth 20 tokens.
Each unique path has a daily bonus of 40 tokens, for a total of 60- tokens the first time through on a given day. This resets at normal daily reset time.
I like this system, however some final bosses are just really hard for pugs and it’s upsetting to get to the end and not being able to do it and thus you get 0 tokens
However I also think I read that at some point in the future dungeon tokens could drop randomly throughout? If that’s true that would be really good. Hopefully it’s implemented sooner rather than later!
Or even 1 token a chest would make me happy.
There is a lot ragging going on about dungeons so I thought I’d try to create something a little more fun. Lets let A.Net know what we LIKE about them instead of just what we don’t.
I like the laser jumping in the Crucible of Eternity explorable. It’s challenging but also fun (and funny to watch your team wipe repeatedly because of a missed jump) and something great to break up fighting. I’d like to see more stuff like.
So what are some of everyone else’s favorite moment or favorite boss fights? What’s A.net doing right? Sound off!
I would like to suggest increase the amount of xp for renown hearts. It just seems to low and this is our main/sure bet way of leveling up. I understand we can do to different zones but here are a few reason I think it should be increased.
1) If we can level up in a zone instead of needing to go to multiple zones like we do now, this would add a lot of replayablity with alts and give us more to explore once we hit 80 instead of having to go everywhere just to get to 80.
2) Possibly the most important is, we can’t rely on dynamic events. They’re awesome and everything but there just isn’t enough right now. It’s very possible to go through a zone, especially mid-level zones, without running into a dynamic event while doing a renown heart. I enjoy dynamic events but I don’t want to have to hunt them down to level up.
3) Right now, it feels like you need to over level before entering a zone that is your current level. This is because you don’t get enough xp from renown hearts and the zone will then become like hitting a break wall. What I mean is, It feels like you shouldn’t enter a lvl 25-35 zone until you’re closer to lvl 35. If i entered at lvl 25 I would be able to do everything up to lvl 29ish, but the problem is, I’d still be lvl 25.
4) Completing renown hearts, as it is right now, just does not feel satisfying with the amount of xp you get. More often than not it feels like a waste of time.
I think it’s important to increase Renown heart xp because of the reason listed above. It wont make the game easier, it’ll make it more rewarding. Plus all the content is still viable at lvl 80 and you would need to complete them all anyway for map completion. So why not?

Wont work unless you had to type a randomized string of letters/numbers. Anything else could easily be coded into botting programs.
Please no capes, I thought they were absolutely ugly in GW1. Perhaps if it looks better, more like a cloak, but no cheesy capes please.
I would love a small bar for consumables! Great idea, I hope the devs see this one! Even if it’s 1 or 2 slots. It’d be so nice.
Yeah, the mean reason you aren’t seeing people for dungeons is because most people, like myself, are disgruntled with them for the time being. Parties get split, not getting proper rewards, ect… why bother at this point?
This is terrible. I just spent over an hour in CoE got disconnected but logged right back in… only to not be able to get back in.
This was very upsetting and should take priority over balancing issues ect. Lets all be able to get in there first… pretty ridiculous.
And this wasn’t the first time. Every other dungeon group I’m in, this happens to at least one person. This shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place.
Thanks Jon, I’m glad to hear about the changes coming. Also, and obvious fix is the lower to obtain dungeon armor. Right now, there is absolutely no point unless you give that a unique skin also.
The easier to obtain armor has a very common skin that drops everywhere. And by the time players get enough tokens for it, they will have out leveled the stats (in all the non-80 dungeons.) So it’s not for the skin, its not for the stats, then what’s the point? May as well take it out completely if you’re not going to change it the look.
Or make dungeons have a 1.5k versions and 15k version like kurzick/luxon which i thought was a great idea.
But yes a lot more tokens please. It would still be plenty grindy.
Right now we have no idea when our contacts come online. I constantly have to check by opening the window. If you could put a little blue icon that shows the number of our contacts that are online (similar to the icon showing the number of mail that we have) that would help so much. It seems like such an oversight as it is right now.
Or at the very least have a message pop up telling us a contact has come online, something, anything.

Yes please remove this! I am big on achievements but I’m not a big pvper.. so this really sucks for me. it’s also a lot harder to get kills or even find anyone in WvW during some of the times I play.. at the very least please include structured pvp in the achievement. thanks! I don’t mind having to do pvp, but I do not like having to wvw when i much rather do spvp.
well i thought it was cool how they have it because you could get it twice in one evening of gaming.

All they have to do is give the easier to obtain armor it’s own unique looking skin as well, and that will solve many issues in one fix! I really hope A.net is listening too ^^;
Yeah butter is dropping way to much out of those bags.. for me it’s close to a ratio of 2:1 I basically get more butter than everything else combined and it’s really annoying. I hope they tone own the butter and let some, already hard to get, fine crafting materials show up.
I agree that they should 2 and/or 3.
Another option: Allow us to use the mystic forge…. lets say I put in 3 tokens of Caudecus’s Manor and 1 token of Ascalon Catacombs and in return I get 2 Ascalon Catacomb tokens. Basically let the mystic forge be away for us to turn tokens into other tokens but a rate of 3 to 1 or something like that.
If prestige is for everybody then it loses its value….. These people complaint because they cant handle it. It takes group skills to do dungeon runs not some pugs running like headless chicken and to kill evrythng. Prestige=hard to get
Not true at all.. what we are saying is, the people who “can’t handle it” should still be given a more achieveable goal and a nice reward for doing the dungeons a few times.
If there was a special armor that was easier to obtain, that would make almost everyone happy.. those people don’t care about the “prestige” you talk about. We’re cool with everyone being able to get that with a lower grind.
I would have no problem with getting the lower set if it looked different. Right now it’s a common drop skin. Originally the lower cost armor had the same look as the higher cost armor but then they changed which was the biggest disappointment in all of guild wars 2 for me. Lower cost armor needs a unique skill also or it needs to be removed completely. There is no point to spend tokens on it right now…
It’s not that the dungeon is too hard so much as that it’s a very jarring experience (even for story mode.) This is the reason I think it should be made easier. Ascalonian Catacombs needs to serve more of a tutorial in how future dungeons work. We should be required to kite, dodge, and learn when to use ranged or melee weapons ect.. but it does need to be a little more forgiving so that people actually can practice and learn these things for future dungeons.
So I agree that the difficult needs to be toned down in story mode.. explorable mode can be as hard as they want it to be as that’s a whole different experience. Sadly though, there are many players who will miss out on a big chunk of the story because they won’t be able to do it… and there really is nowhere in the open world where you can practice these skills.
I’m sure they will and i’m sure the gear will become outdated.. but the nice thing is, transmutation stones.. you will still be able to keep that epic look. And they way I look at it, no armor/weapon stats should last you the entire run of an mmo.
And i for one would happily welcome a level increase. The real question is, what will happen to orr? And what’s even more great, the difficulty of the zones will stay the same thanks to the lvl scaling.
Basically, A.net set themselves up for success imo.
I know there are titles but I don’t even see anyone’s title so I say yes.. at least have it how it is in guild wars 1 where you mouse over. People should be able to show off their achievements more as that is a big part of guild wars..
Every class has a ranged and melee option expect the engineer and while this does make the engineer unique i dont see why they can’t use hammers. They are afterall engineers and would be very proficient with hammers I’d say.. I also think it would be neat to have a hammer that you can smash on the ground to repair nearby turrets ect… but i digress.
I think Engineers should be able to use hammers although they still don’t need to have weapon swap since they have kits.
I HATE they changed the lower level armors to a common crappy looking skin that is the same for every dungeon. I understand making the tough to get elite armor, but the easier to obtain armor should also have a unique looking skin in my opinion. Much like the kurzick/luxon had the 1.5k armor and the 15k armor.
Please A.NET, reconsider how you have dungeon armor and give the lower cost armor a unique skin also even if it’s not as flashy! Otherwise I don’t really see the point of of having the lower armor in there at all… it’s not for the skin and the stats will be outgrown within days…
Summary:
Make dungeon armor look unique and have two different sets much like luxon/kurzick 1.5k armor and 15k armor. As it stands right now there is no reason for me, and many others, to do any dungeons since I would never farm the amount of tokens required for the unique look. Thanks!
I chose to be a street rat who never knew my real parents… I really loved the storyline and without spoiling much, I LOVE the fact that you got to see your where your parents lived. It was a very personal moment and kind of emotional. I thought they did a great a job with that.
I am curious to hear what the “Joining the circus” storyline was like.
I must say, I did not like the Sylvari at first.. but after playing through the game as a human the syvlari really grew on me and I understood their place in the world of Tyria.. now I have a sylvari alt and it’s a lot of fun and an interesting starting story.
Totally dig them now!
