I am 98% of the way to The Predator….and I think it is primarily some sort of mental illness that has brought me here. Initially I just sort of scanned the ingredients needed to make a Legendary, and I was new to the game and GROSSLY underestimated what was actually involved in doing it all. But I got lucky and pulled The Hunter from the MF quite quickly, and I accumulated all my karma and did not spend it. By then the onerous nature of the other needed items started to sink in, but I was so far into the process that I did not want to quit.
The problem with Legendaries in my mind is that you will never get one by simply playing the game and aquiring skills in the game. Never happen. Legendaries will not come without a dedicated grind toward that goal. I am not sure it should be that way…
It doesn’t really bother me too much to see them for sale, because realistically who is buying them? If you farmed 3K gold in game, then you deserve your legendary. If you bought that amount of gold outside the game you spent an insane amount of money. Does anyone think those legendarys in the TP ever actually sell? I have my doubts.
But I will restate…getting a legendary “the old fashioned” way is a mind numbing grind with very little skill required, I know that as well as anyone. Having said that, I am too far along to quit now.
Judging from my luck thus far at the Mystic Forge, I am going to be needed more shards before long.
Instead of getting clovers one turn in three…I am going more like one in six. Dang this game can be frustrating.

I just tried the event sequence to open Balthazar…3 or 4 times. It’s pretty hard. We had a decent group (maybe 12)and still got our butts kicked. It is demoralizing because the event keeps failing right before the end when morale runs out.
I’ve done my share of dungeons and I would say this is harder.
I’m sure like everything else there is a technique to it…but none of us knew what it was…LOL.

I have no real problem with the changes. Sometimes it is a bit of a pain to find sufficient allies to res…but no big deal.
My mistake was deciding I just had to pursue a legendary….there is going to be some boring grinding involved in that no matter how you do it….so much karma and gold is needed it is kind of ridiculous.
It’s getting to the point with the Karma farming in Cursed Shore….when things are busy it is actually difficult to score any hits at all on some of the bad guys before the mob completely steamrolls them. I mean they are gone in a second or two.
Usually the Veterans survive long enough so that is not a problem though.
I am desperately looking for a US server with Balthazar open also….if anyone could hook me up I would be forever grateful.
I have almost everything done for my legendary, and never guessed this would be such a holdup.

No doubt like many here, I am trying to pursue a Legendary weapon (Predator), but I am seriously beginning to doubt I have the resolve to carry it through.
I have gathered the resources and experience for one of the easier parts, the “Gift of Wood”. I have 250 of each of the 4 wood planks, level 400 Huntsman, a World Completion badge, and I have purchased and opened the “Gift of Wood” recipe.
However, when I put the ingredients into the Mystic Forge, the forge button is grayed out and I cannot make anything. I have attempted this over and over to no avail.
Anyone have any idea what I am missing here?
