Yeah people need to realize they should stop using berserker set and focus on resitance. This what pvp has always been about in any MMOs. Resistance first, damage second.
But I guess they prefer to whine.
This is what ANet expect but this will never happen because almost no one wants to go in a low population servers.
I don’t think there is any way to fix this. They can only slow down the inevitable by removing free transfer to big servers.
Adding more map will not change anything. On top servers you have over 1000 player queueing on prime time. Considering that a map can only contains 170 player or so, that would not change anything.
I hope ANet react fast enough to this and permaban all those hacker without a chance for them to be unban.
If that would be the case, then you should see other peak in queue. But they just are not. It is just one block which covers a larger amount of time which can be explained by a larger queue. Larger queue means it will take longer for queue to fade out so in the end, more time covered.

The first problem is that the score is shown. If score was not show, player would focus so much on winning/loosing.
queue time can be estimated by how long the last person to enter or first person in queue has been waiting since he got in.
So VS has the biggest queue from all server including NA and EU.
It is not ELO but a modified version of Glicko

Seriously why don’t ANet publish the numbers of “canadians” on Vizunah so we get rid of this useless thread.
That’s what they said officialy but I know some players who did not and used other mean of persuasion and are able to play with everything they have gathered.
You loose money, get a police record and so on. Loads of penalty beside just being convicted.
Here they get a “lifetime” ban but they find the way to get it remove without the gold/equipment they made through cheating.
Have you ever seen a robber keeping what he has stolen after being arrested ?
I don’t know where exactly I should post this but here we go :
First le me say, I was happy to hear people are getting banned for exploiting, botting and so on.
However, I see some people claiming to have been unbanned (after karma exploit, botting or other) easely without loosing what they have gained through “cheating”. (I am not going to explain how they got unban but it is so easy …. )
So what’s the point in banning if in the end, player get unbanned without any other form of punishment ?

I agree with most points of OP.
But :
- there is already possibility to communicate with other server. Just MP the leader of an other server. Local cross server communication is bad as it this would lead people to trash talk. (this is already the case in sPvP since you can see you ennemy name)
- Reward are very dangerous. If a server is always winning, everyone will migrate to this server for free rewards. The only kind of rewards missing in WvW at the moment, is a personal progression. The sPvP progression is great and I don’t see why such “level” was not also implemented in WvW
I don’t think it’s down to SFX but more a bandwith limitation so that server don’t crash imo.
In DAoC, we often had zone crash and zone lag because of this.
I agree with OP. Free transfer should have been closed by now, especially since ranking have been posted.
If nothing is done, things can only get worst. People never like to be in the loosing camp, they will move to the top tier server even if there is a queue.
At least all top15 ranked servers should have paid transfer instead of free.
As a FS player it’s clear that VS is simply more organized. No matter what map I join for WvW I find people AFK at the spawns. The people who do play are split between exploring (gotta get those vistas) and not knowing what to do.
Luckily we have plenty of people who do know what to do. These people spend their time in /map and /team to tell the others they’re doing it wrong. Very rarely do I see anybody step up and take control.
The FS players tend to be very unorganized and rarely listen or talk in the chat. I think a lot of this will change when more people get their desired Exotic gear and only have WvWvW left as a gold sink.
Edit: Kudos to VS for getting your people and guilds so organized.
I think it is only a matter of time for people to know how to play effitiently in WvW.
Right now as it stands VS have 1 well organized alliance with huge experience but also covered by many smaller guilds and un-guilded people who have experienced DAoC and other open-pvp games. It would be foolish for people to claim they can easily beat such a pool of veteran players.
They are other french alliances with huge RvR experience but they have a common issue like FS and Deso : they have a lot of non-experienced pvp players and lots of PvE players.
I have no doubt that in future months, things will change as people get more experience.
Be it nights or days, organisation is very important. Without organisation, people tend either to stay near spawning points for farming or rush in small improvised numbers. If you have 50 players scattered around the map, you feel like you are outnumbered when facing a 30 players zerg. This is why bringing people together is important.
I am not saying one server has more player than an other, I honestly don’t have acces to those statistics, but only that most organized force will succeed even if they have inferior numbers. The day FS won against VS, FS had very united groups this was the key to their victory.

So i guess killing player at this hour is considered PvE because they are zombie who can’t sleep ?
lock borderlands capping during sleep time. Fair for EU people since they sleep anyway, if some Canadian is playing on Vizu [fr] you force them to migrate to a US server, where they should play fairly according to their timezone.
And then we have queue all time except during lock, so we can never play. The night time is the only schedule in where you actually have a chance to get in and play.
It’s a 24/7 game. Trying to change that can only make it worse.
Also I shall remind you all, that the points is only for match making purpose. It doesn’t stop you from playing during your gametime.
People focus too much on points. But isn’t WvW about having fun and participating in big battles ? When I manage to go inside in WvW at 4:00 am, I don’t care about getting points for my server. I play because I am having fun (and it is not door bashing like most people suggest)
Like I said before, if there is a problem beside queues, that’s the orb of power. They give too much advantage and are too easy to take at reset. On DAoC, you needed to unlock the relic fort by taking a chain of keep. And then, you still had to breaks doors.
Here in GW2, the orb are just freeloot. The lord is very weak, no door, no wall, nothing to make a defense.
If you play for your server, you should still do escort. This is a key asset in victory.
If you are not, that means you are only here for the XP which is bad.
we need auto loot. Any good pvp-er will never stay put so looting the bags is not possible as we move all the time.
And for the record, during Shiverpeak peaktime we beat the french and desolation 9/10 times, we can never close the score gap with dem canadians tho.
You do not. That only happened a few times.
There is no canadian (or so little it doesn’t matter). If you want proof ask ANet.
Why do we have so many people late at night ? Because we cannot login before reset. And if you don’t get in the minute the reset happens, you have to wait till 4 AM to get in.
Since we are WvW freaks, we are frustrated not being able to play, so if we managed to get in, we want to play more than what we would normally do.
Also we have the biggest and oldest alliance of guilds from DAoC with the most experience in RvR strategy and discipline. This include great leaders able to command random people and communicate between various map to address needs of defense and attacks.
Yes we play more and later than most other servers but, we are not to blame. ANet is at fault with :
1. not having sorted queue problems
2. First to get 3 orb of power after reset wins.
