Why not remove the charge to travel in the same zone?

I walk everywhere. Yes, it’s time consuming. I also run into at least half a dozen events going from point A to point B, and farming up a fair quantity of materials.

The waypoints are conveniences. They’re not intended as the primary mode of transportation, which a majority of the broke people seem to be using them for.

Now, I’m not against maybe a single central WP in each zone that is cheap and is just for the sole purpose of getting you to the zone quickly, but from there a player is on their own. A game needs gold sinks. Players just need to be smart about avoiding them, instead of insisting the developers remove them because they can’t be bothered to avoid them.

Quality of Life: Moving Weapon Skills

I’m fine with how things are now, and having little experience with the guardian, I’m fine with the change as I’ll grow into it naturally, but I can support this idea none the less. Naturally, the only skills that can be moved would be the unlocked skills, but that shouldn’t be a problem for anyone at all. It takes 2 minutes tops to unlock all five skills on the bar. 5 tops if you’re under level 10.

It’s been done before in TERA, but really, every MMO on the market could do themselves a favor and implement this system. I don’t even need the crosshair though. For what it’s worth, between tab targeting and most of my attacks sweeping an area in front of me anyway, a cross-hair would just be an eyesore. Options = good.

Reconsider the Title Screen

Before I load up Guild Wars 2, I often youtube “Into Free Dangan” and just imagine the Guild Wars 2 logo in a similar fashion to how Dragon’s Dogma’s title screen looked.

Orchestral has it’s place, but for a title screen, I need something that gets me pumped up. For some reason, orchestral music doesn’t usually do that for me at a title screen. For me, it’s more appropriate in the heat of the moment.

An orchestral piece based on a rock/metal song, now that’s just fantastic all around though. The title song made epic.

Cross Type Armor Transmute

Ever try cross-previewing armor classes? Textures start getting ugly. I imagine that’s the reason for the restriction, and it probably isn’t as easy as simply “fixing” them, since the models of each class are designed or coded to flow and react appropriately within the armor class by making necessary edits where necessary.

It looks cool to put heavy greaves and gauntlets on a light or medium armor coat and pants set, but in most cases there is something screwy with the textures in doing so and in some cases, even extra model bits appearing that weren’t there before.

This would be great to have, and I’m sure they even considered it, but there’s a lot more work involved than simply removing the transmutation restrictions.

Then there’s the somewhat related alternative: introducing more town clothes. Generic stuff from a vendor would be a nice start, as willing as I am to pay $$$ for the more gaudy fashionable wear.

Is the female Sylvari sound of pain bothering anyone else?

Human female with a great sword. I swear she’s squeaking with nearly every attack, and it definitely doesn’t sound natural. I can’t tell if it’s a bug affecting pitch or using a different voice set or what.

This game needs 2 more classes.

I think there would be more benefit to introducing fist weapons like cestus’, probably in a big content update where each existing class gets access to *new weaponry. I can picture Warriors, Guardians, Thieves, Mesmers, and maybe Elementalists wielding cestus’ or some other type of fist weapon.

*By “new weaponry,” I also mean in some cases they would just now get to use already existing weaponry, like an Engineer now having access to a main hand only dagger or sword.

Stag armor

Stag armor is pretty much the only reason I’m still even considering a (female) Norn Guardian over a Sylvari or Charr Guardian.

Sigh What I’d pay to have my non-native characters wear another cultures armor.

I’m hopping onto the “love my Sylvari” band wagon. I only tried them out out of curiosity. The only reason I haven’t rerolled my Human warrior into a Sylvari warrior is the female human figure and decent, longer hair choices. Some heavy armor looks great on a female Sylvari, some heavy armor looks a little blocky for some reason.

Then I need to work in a male Sylvari. Third face reminds me of Garrus, and the way it glows in the dark can only be described as BAD A**.

My only real gripe with the Sylvari is the glow effect though. Seems only orange and to a lesser extent red glows really show up in the dark, everything else a tad bit weak.

Oh, and that there are only two heavy armor classes as seems standard with MMO’s anymore, but this is hardly a related issue.

People delete characters because they don’t like the look, and there’s no hint of an appearance change feature coming down the pipe, even if it’s actually safe to expect one.

What’s keeping me is an abyss dye I found before I even hit level 13. Gads…

This is the one game where I wouldn’t expect race change capabilities, unless the stories become conglomerated across the races and everyone’s performing in the same base story. The personal creation choices we made might conflict with a race change before that point.

This has been reported ever since BWE1. I really don’t see it being changed.
And yes, it’s obvious that different animators were working on the Asura. The lack of quality consistency in GW2 is jarring.

That, or for the Asura the animators intentionally went for bouncy and cartoony and it worked marvelously because they’re fluid and fun to watch as a result. I know people want their ultra realism, but motion riggers intentionally seeking “fake” can have the opposite results if they don’t go too far.

I like how my Human female almost literally kicks away when she breaks into a run from a standstill while lugging a greatsword behind her. Only after that kick off she seems to slow down to a brisk jog and the sword feels less weighty.

Glow and character creation

Seras, they only ever glow at night, not simply in dark places. I think it’s coded that way.

As for the topic, I think this more appropriately belongs in the Black Lion Trading Co. section, where there are already several appearance change requests. However I don’t think Anet is going to pass up this cash cow and it’s practically a fool proof mechanic for players that find out later their character really isn’t exactly how they wanted them to look. Seldom few character concepts survive the first iteration Either because they aren’t as interesting to look at over a longer period of time or the creator found a better appearance for their character concept.

Race changes will likely never happen due to personal stories, but appearance changes should be all right.

I’d like to know as well. If the answer is there is no plan to introduce this system ( which would be a bizarre choice, considering the gem store,) then I can get to work rerolling my Warrior before she’s too far leveled (37 at the moment.) It’s going to suck losing my crafting progress and all of those dyes I’ve collected though.

Pirate Captain's Outfit.. I'd buy it..

quoting illgot:
There are maybe 3 out of ALL the medium coats that are not a trench coat/poofy dress design. If I could use the pirate costume I would buy that in a heartbeat… just for the top.

Having one item I can buy to remedy that would be a terrible solution. For one thing, where’s the fun in just buying it? I just wish they didn’t stick so closely to that long coat theme. Medium armor needs more variation. For most of the game, not just high levels.

I’d say all armor types could use a little more variation before level 40, and I’m not sure there will be more between then and 50 or 60.

The Pirate costume, by the way, has a single flaw in that the pants and shirt are a single item, with the pants portion overriding the equipped pants.

I mostly got this set for the pants and gloves. Oh well. I’d kill for Anet to put in a town clothes vendor that has appropriate in world attire to choose from. Heck, I’d even splurge with gems if need be, as I already have with the pirate outfit for my human and cook outfit for my Sylvari. I see female NPC’s all over Divinity’s Reach sporting the same pants male Humans wear for their default town outfit. How come I don’t have access to at least that? The skirt isn’t doing my character any favors.

I personally prefer Sword/Sword or MH Axe/OH Sword if it’s killing speed I’m looking for. Regarding the latter, big damage attacks and a vulnerability with the mainhand while applying bleeds using the sword. Both impale and parry result in bleeding the target. Rip is also a fairly high damage skill, complimenting the MH axe very well.

Look at the map of Tyria....notice anything?

As others have already mentioned, it’s probably an efficiency thing. Maps are always rectangular by default, even in the seamless worlds. Arena Net has chosen to make the most of the entire space instead of blocking off chunks of it as impassable terrain for the sake of making the area look organic in the eyes of a bird.

I think we can all agree that running around on the ground we don’t feel like we’re marching around in a large square or rectangle, and that’s the real victory there. I can happily live with the world map being comprised of rectangles if Anet can keep delivering an awesome world that’s fun to explore.

The only territories that don’t come across as completely rectangular are the main cities, but they don’t need to pack 12+ hearts and everything one could do to fill them into these areas. For the most part, the only areas worth visiting in cities are the crafters, culture merchants, trade post, and Asura gate.
