If I recall, that’s an entirely different thing. You can’t use the names of actual/famous people, places, or things because of the slightest chance that they could sue.

I’m 21, and I personally disagree with the correlation between players who stick around and age. I think there are other factors at work there.

I also agree with Decutho. As a college student, I think this is a great if you don’t have a lot of time for video games. For me, I can get my dailies done in a couple hours and probably go up a level, and that’s perfect.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this subject, part of me understands why seemingly harmless things like “Frostbite” being censored would be kind of annoying (as well as the previous argument regarding romaji), but I’m also annoyed with the “You carebears are offended by EVERYTHING” argument, because that’s not the point.

I think the point is context. Like Shinzan mentioned, the game itself uses words that are normally censored. I think this is because the story stuff is in a controlled context, but those words outside of that context could potentially be used to, you know, offend people. I can certainly see how “bite” and “jewel” could be used in an inappropriate context.

I definitely think something like this should be implemented. For the few times I’ve really felt strongly about reporting a person(s), they all basically kept going for over an hour, getting progressively worse, even when told that they were reported. By the time any action is taken (if at all), the damage is already done; far too many players had been exposed to the behavior, and many get sucked in, just adding fuel to the fire by provoking them (“feeding the trolls”). It’s not a good gaming environment.

Perhaps maybe at the 100-200 mark, something could auto-scan the reported chat messages for banned words and phrases?

I’m all for this, simply because I didn’t pay attention to the height slider and my main character is… so… short…

I just acquired “Ravaging Swindler Pants of the Traveler”, and since taking an in-game screenshot closes item description windows, I’m demonstrating the problem by showing you what the Preview looks like.

They are indeed pants, but the image for it appears to be a glove. I linked to it in map chat and asked if they looked like pants, and someone immediately said “hand pants”, so that confirms that the error isn’t just on my end.
