Hello, I’ve been on and off of Guild wars 2 for a bit to long and I’m not sure if I want to come back to this game permanently I’ve had a couple of level 80’s and I am looking for something I can stick to while I get bored of my other game.
Is this game worth coming back to?
If you were bored in the first place.. nothing really changed, don’t think you will stay for long.
gw2 is adding new content pretty slow with no expansion in sight.
gw2 should not be your main mmo because it is very casual mmo with slow content addition, if you keep it as your second mmo and play it from time to time ((during the living story)) then its all good dont consider it as your main mmo or only mmo.
Problem is.. gw2 combat and movement feels so good, it’s impossible for me to play other mmos.
It’s not like that Budil, while trying to join a group in new, bugged LFG, it’s really easy to missclick :/
I’ve done that like 30 times since last update…
How about new maps, but like the old ones, with tasks, reward for 100%, etc.
Few new dungeons, with set of weapons and armors. More jumping puzzles, more events like Teq/wurm.
New skills+weapons for existing class.
There is a lot content in this game, true. But 2 years is more than enough to finish all of it.
Playing something again, with a different race/class combo isn’t solution.
For an example, One can make a character of every class/race and play though the Story again. This is enough content to play thorugh for years. But nobody does it. Why? Its not “worth” it. Gold/Minute doesnt sum up. Anet cannot solve this idiotic behaviour.

And yet you are probably the ones who just LFG for members who has over 5k AP and are zerkers to burn through content. If you want to play an MMO, please go make a guild. Help new players. Coordinate Teq and Wurm runs. Too boring? Sorry thats what being a community means.

Hi folks! Now that I’ve settled in a bit at ANet, I wanted to check in again on this thread. The first Living World episode that I was involved in, “Echoes of the Past,” has now been live for a few days. We’ve all been really pleased that people seem to be enjoying the story and content a lot. But I’d love to ask you all for more specifics. What were your favorite narrative moments? What did you like about the content? About the way it was told? And of course, I want to hear what you think we can still do better on.

Hidden Arcana, best living story mission [won’t even mention personal story] gw2 ever had. More stuff like this please!
But btw, arent 45k bags about 3150g worth (average price of 7s per bag)? Couldnt you just sell them all and buy what ever you wanted from this event?
When event started, you could end up with more gold after opening 250 than you had to begin with. So i didn’t lost much at first.
It’s also quite hard to buy acc things you know :P
First example that i can think of is Aion Deavanion lv60 quest. Grindy+quest+time but no RNG, at least not like in gw2. You could spend 100+hours to get that armor [with a nice skin], but every minute took you closer to get it.
Here you can spend 2k+hours and get..nothing.
Well the problem is there is no content to earn the gold. Note I said content not mindless zerging or dungeon spamming both of which is not why I play the game.
Is it too much to ask to have fresh and fun content that you can earn gold from?
This whole gems conversion issue makes it clear this game is just being milked for as long as it will last.
The Labyrinth available right now is a rather good way to get rather much money and it is rather fresh and fun.
It’s just mindlessly grinding gold. There might be worse mindless grinds in this game but in the end it’s not more as that.
Had put in a scavenger hunt to earn a skin maybe even only being able to select one and it would be account bound giving you next year a change for a second skin.
Or had put in the Dungeon from first year and have it as a rare drop. That would all have been more fun.
It’s really strange that Anet talked so much about how they wanted to make a game that was mainly fun and not just a grind as many other games but it turned into the most grindy mmo I personally have ever played and earning most rewards is done by grinding gold (or another currency) and buying it. What are not fun ways of warning those rewards.
Just finished my 2nd match [i got quite bored of this in last year, so i didn’t want to do it now]..and kitten , half of players runned without transformation. What the hell?!
No, those that will be picked earlier will get best skins. The system will pick 1000 players (well, 1000 wrappers) at random (regardless if they are logged or not) and assign skins in order they were picked.
And apparently those 1000 skins are for both realms (EU and NA) together.
Yes that is how this system works, which is quite fair.
The system the poster I quoted talked about however would mean that those that logged in first after the drawing would be able to get the “best” skin while those that slept/worked/couldn’t log in would end up with the “worst” ones.
Ah, sorry, misunderstood you. Yeah, that would be even worse – which, i admit, is quite an accomplishment.

And how is getting skin you don’t need better?
There should be 1k tickets send to players and pick up weapon you like [without limit, but it’s acc bound, just like wvw tickets]
