No Glorious Celestial Gear?

Two things:

Acended armor is required or should be considered crafting, if you are into going levelling higher fractals – in terms of getting agony resistance.

You should keep in mind that healing is really some issue in this game. Since healing – regeneration will be overwritten by other party members.

The glorious reward track is a PvP only available – I don’t want to put it that way, but it’s more a skin, which can only be attains by completing this particular reward track.

I would say that there’s no option because of the high expenses for crafting and kind of celestial gear.
Matts required to craft celestial armor are account bound and can only be obtained by playing – there might be some kind of advantage over just selecting the armor set then getting / having Charged Quartz Crystals. Since you can only convert 25 Quarts Crystals a day into one charged Quartz Crystal.

That’s just me humble opinion.

[Request] Glyph of Elementals

Tornado is just ridiculous in many ways. It’s a suicide button in WvW and PvP. I still don’t get it either why the hell we are going into a Tornado state, would be much better – as already suggested here in the forum – to transform this joke of an elite into sth which gives the chance to select an area and cast this skill there. The additional stability is also ridiculous, doesn’t justify this bad elite.

FGS was killed in many ways. Don’t know if that improved anything – the new meta is frostbow 5 – frostbow 4 – frostbow 3. Still stacking everywhere and killing a boss just takes a little longer then before FGS’s death.

New elites would be awesome, but are something we will probably not get in nearer or further future.

Just give as the possibility of a 4th utility slot already.

Okay first things first. It all depends of the fact – which legendaries / ascended weapons-gear are you willing to craft or looking forward to crafting.
You will need Weapon smith on 400 and Chef on 400 for crafting Incinerator. Weapon smith on 500 to craft an ascended weapon.
Artificer covers all other Weapons usable by your class – keep that in mind.

Chef will be easier and is – as far as i can recall – the cheapest crafting discipline to level.

Note: Tailoring getting up to 500 is rather expensive same goes for Artificer.
Crafting Ascended light armor will cost you hundreds of gold (not if you’re grinding your matts of course – but still it’s pretty expensive)

So weaponsmith for daggers + chef is the way to go?
Incinerator looks godly.

artificer if u like staff focus scepter

weaponsmith for daggers

tailor: dont bother unless u want either celestial gears, or ascended light gears (asc armour is only needed in fractals, if u dont go fractals, dont bother w em)

chef: most of the stuff u usually use for food is mostly cheaper just on the tp

jeweler, ascended trinkets r rly easy to get so i never bothered w those

u should get ascended weapons tho, those boost ur dmg greatly , armour doesnt.

Trinkets can only be obtained by doing fractals, earning Laurels or Guild Merits or looting due bosses, which is pretty unlikely and rare.
You will need the Jeweler to craft 5 different gifts, which are used to crafting 4 different legendaries.

Note:
Exception “gift of ice”- also used in crafting an exotic bow.

As far as level adjusting goes now, you won’t realize any higher damage in dungeons or PvE because of the current level adjusting. Therefore exotic armor is as good as ascended armor – as long as you’re playing under level 80.

As soon as playing at the cap – your armor will deal / give an overall higher damage output – and is nice to have especially for higher level fractals and WvW (not much of an advantage but still it is something to keep in mind). But if you’re not interested in going fractals, it’s not really necessary to get ascended armor.

Ascended weapons are better to craft then your armor. Ascended Trinkets are also good to have since they can give an enormous advantage over their exotic counterparts.

Note:
The overall damage “boost” you will get by going fully ascended , is around 4-8% so, depends if you are willing to spend tons of money. (considered armor + weapon – trinkets not included)

Golem: Pull the golem between the Protection and the Retaliation-Turrets. This will help you and your party members to get the mob down easier. Destroy both of them if they are back up. Consider them your main priority if no one else in your party is dealing with them.
You can easily dodge the golem’s light orbs. You will get used to him using his skills – get back a little and use your “movement” keys and move left and right, the golem will cast an orb without hitting you. The other two orbs can be dodged or doge and move left and right afterwards or just move in a straight line left and right. I would consider using a Focus in this particular boss encounter especially if there are no Guardians or Mesmers around helping with their skills.
Your party should talk about when to use which skill, so there won’t be a damage loss, since both Feedback and Wall of Reflection deal damage to the Golem. Since the Golem’s skills are somehow a kind of Crowd control, using reflects on him will lead in a loss of his defiance stacks.

Just my opinion: Don’t use S/D for this boss nor D/D – use D/F or Staff.
Staff will lead to less stacks of might and therefore a loss of your parties damage but it’s better dealing damage then lying on the floor downed or dead, dealing no damage.
D/D well, this weapon set – I don’t get it why it’s even considered to be good in any scenario besides WvW and PvP. You’re losing a lot of damage by the Traits you’re using -which aren’t good but, well – plus your choice of weapon set

Note:
Ring of Earth works as a projectile block, after it’s casted it lasts for about 2 sec or so. Which can also help “dodging” his light orbs.
Burning Speed can also be used as a “dodging” skill, rather challenging to get it the right time, but you can also use it for evading Alphas Fire, wouldn’t use it to evade his Aoe – only if you’re confident enough in your prowess.

I would go 2 points into Arcana, getting Renewing Stamina. You should crit a lot "even with your build " – dodging shouldn’t be much of a concern now.
6 Points in Fire. Persisting Flames is a must, should be missing in your build ONLY if there are other party members giving Furry. Also since it gives a longer duration of fire Fields, main source of your current damage setup.
I would play a Fresh Air build, while playing D/D – but still, this weapon set….well, play your style.

Note: You deal more damage to burning foes – Ring of Fire doesn’t apply burning to foes already inside your Circle.

My suggestion: For Alpha play Staff or D/F – Since…
…Obsidian Flesh which can be a huge help if you’re running low health
…Flame Wall, damage is pathetic but applies burning.
…Swirling Winds, this skill is just imbattable
…Magnetic Wave, huge help to cleanse conditions – reflects projectiles and is a Blast Finisher
Also..
…Magnetic Aura reflects projectiles.
….Stoning does hardly any damage which could be considered good but – Weakness is awesome and can decide weather your HP-pool will go down to 50% or 30% by getting hit.

The groups overall damage will be moderately lower because of lower might uptime. But it still does great amounts of damage. If might is covered but other party members you should play Staff without even thinking. Your Damage will just skyrocket.

Lastly..You should never play just one “style”. It’s true that we can only use one weapon a time, during combat but – there are other different weapon sets, which can be useful and should be used.
During CoE runs i usually swap weapons from boss to boss. Trying to give most of support and damage.

Ascended staff question

Zention.1849

Kay, the Staff only costs like 50-60gp maybe and some karma of course. If you’re going straightly for the matts out of the tp.

Hmm..Yeah, i dunno it really depends. For open World as for world bosses it doesn’t matter either staff is good you won’t be doing crits on the world bosses. PvE depends on your style of playing. For Fractals really in higher level fractals you’re going a full Staff setup? Okay, wouldn’t be my first choice. But still Assasin or Berseker make the best overall damage. And i doubt it will change with the September patch, i might have to go for a mixed armorset because of the lack of mobility but still glass canon builds are all about power / precision / ferocity.

Yeah but the problem would be which elite to give whom. Especially casting some elite which are intended to be “supportive” aren’t worth casting, because of – they’re aren’t that good overall because of long CDs and the risk of dying or your elite dying.

Staying in a single element [suggestion]

in Elementalist

Posted by: Zention.1849

Zention.1849

Of course you could stay in one attunement. But it’s really not worthwhile..Your damage would be just “normal” or even less then that depending of your equipment – while staying in one attunement. Stacking might is what’s makes the damage decent and gives some great group support.
If there’s a second elementalist in the group you could stay like 90% attuned to air and use your conjure Weapons if you’re going for the fresh air build.

But obviously it’s super useless to stay in one attunement all the time. Even a Staff Ele wouldn’t do that – he should be always swapping between Fire/Earth for the additional blast finisher and Water of course if any support is needed.

Does it get better?

Zention.1849

The Ele is hard to play especially when leveling – it takes ages because of bad gear – not knowing some trivial things as dodging in the right moment or when to use which skill.
We can’t deny that it’s hard class to play, but if you’ve reached end content and knowing when to use what it’s a fantastic class..

I played Scepter/Dagger and Daggger/Dagger for leveling. It’s easier i think and you’re getting used to meleeing.
It’s pretty hard to play with staff if you’re not quite used to the mechanics of an Ele so i would suggest going the “normal” fresh air Bild 6 6 2 0 0. And Using Dagger/Focus (Focus for more survivability) – if you’re quite uncommon to the whole system.

But it definitely gets better and it’s a fun class to play, because of it’s capabilities.

If that’s what arena net is trying i am really upset. Dealing the same amount of damage as other classes which are easier to play, with a smaller risk of dying isn’t balancing. Simply as that.

Zention.1849

And you were much more flexible as an ele. You can melee the boss dealing tons of damage and being a class wich was dealing damage which was far beyond being godlike. Now surviving as an Ele in some occasions will nearly be impossible if the fight takes longer and debuffs will stack on you, a class which has the worst survivability in this game. Especially for new and inexperienced players. Except you’re willing to lose some of your damage boost which will make you just an “equal” damage dealer – so you’re not really needed after all – other classes can deal the same amount of damage with a much lower risk of being out of stamina or what so ever – which will lead to a dead sooner or later. Meaning most of the Eles will be not doing damage at all, just lying there waiting for better times to arrive.
So why should a group take an Ele from the beginning? Other constellations can also stack might..And the Eles healing power is nice but we’re not healers we were powerhouses which could give the group freaking high support equally dealing massive amount of damage. So an experienced player could make your party member’s lives much easier – which is / was a hug he advantage and what made an Ele so freaking awesome.
But now?! lol … Using cantrips and nothing instead?! I guess that’s how the Ele should be played now.

Hmm..Yeah..Not that happy at all. We can’t deny that the fgs had to be nerfed sooner or later. But on the other hand what “elite” should an Ele use now. It’s not like we do stand out in points of survivability – especially if you want to melee a boss without losing a loot of your damage boosts.
And on the other hand, i really appreciate the new skills of our pets but honestly – when will you ever be able to cast your 6k heal – the elemental will be dead before even trying – and i don’t understand it either why they’re somehow trying to give as the role as a healer. I thought that wasn’t intended from the beginning :o

And pls…Why do we even have this skill – it’s like more then just useless. Glypf of Elemental Power, we should definitely get an improvement with this joke of a skill..So not worthwhile..

I don’t understand the mechanics – we should be outstanding towards damage – and i mean outstanding too any class and not just a little bit top tier. I mean weak defense – armor ( at least if you’re going full berserk glass canon ). Hardly any survivability skills. And overall now useless elites – i mean these points are disadvantages but the elites we’re kinda a redemption for these lacks.
So we’re losing a lot of damage – kay the fgs I can understand it but there could have been other ways – like not casting two or longer cd or whatsoever or an overall rethinking of the whole elite system. And Meteor only using it for the boost, not that happy either. And the rest of your “elites”…. – no comment -

And the mesmer gets fully godlike :o I really can’t see how this is fixining any balance – if you ask me – it’s favoring a class.

Would you swap your elite for a utility slot?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Zention.1849

Zention.1849

I would so change my elite skill for an utility slot. Yeah i really don’t see the “point” in the elite. There like a far cry from being elite. Some skill might be nice to cast, or were “past tense” to cast – but now…meeh.
Not really worth it especially in some occasions. Especially the racial elite skills – super useless..apart from some exceptions.
