Waldorf (yes, indeed) has a condition armor and a glass armor, depending on situations. Kept the starter eyes coz it’s cool! Currently working towards an Immobulus because, you know, it has more sparkles than the Princess Wand that he’s currently using XD
What’s wrong with dodging rocks like the previous CR? That was great. A party could dodge those rocks AND revive team mates. Now our lives depend on an old man who could barely get his shield up and if a party member gets caught in the overlapping rings, ‘Adios, buddy’.
This thread feels like deja vu…oh that’s right, there was a similar thread for rangers.
To be honest, I only expect people in dungeons to know how to play their job, and they’re fine in the group. The only time I ever kicked somebody from a dungeon party was when we had a warrior who tried to blaze through the enemies like he was in PvP. After 8 revivals in CoF1 and him QQing that he kept dying, I had enough and we kicked him. Btw, he was the ONLY one who was dying that fast, meaning the rest of the party, which was a ranger (me), a necro, an engi, and an ele had to do all the damage to take out everything.
Agreed. I’ve had a heavy party kick me from a CoE party because I’m not a War/Guard (regardless the fact that I am in full CoE gear, runes and 5000 ach points). Later on I got a party with 2 thieves, 2 rangers and my necro. No one died on all paths and it was a blast. It’s not the class, it’s a user problem.
Sounds like someone got owned by a thief :p
LMAO! People may gripe about thieves, but when they wanna skip something safely ahemvoletileblossomsahem, everyone starts staring at the pretty lady in the T3 underboob top….
Despite everyone’s complaints about certain classes not bringing enough to the party in dungeons, fact is that everyone is responsible for their own wellbeing. When in a party I fully expect everyone to carry their own condition removal, dodge well and behave like decent human beings. I kick players who insult/belittle/act like idiots in a dungeon, regardless of class. I love having rangers in CoE P3 especially. As long as they keep their pets on guard and alive, all is well. I know, I have 6 toons and ranger will forever be my first love.
More often than not the troublemakers in my party are zerkers (class irrelevant) who die first and gripe about people not rezzing them quick enough. Well you won’t die if you play well enough, right? Zerker dps = 0 dps when dead in 5 seconds. There are bad sheep in every class. Nothing wrong with playing a ranger as long as you’re good at what you do. LB with 70% crit is at least 1.8k per shot with up to 15k criticals. Can’t complain about that.
Giving players the 2 flaming scepters in path 1 would be interesting…
I would LOVE this. That would reduce the reliance on faulty AI and make the combat more about teamwork.
+1
That, sir, is a wonderful idea!
I only run that with guildies or friends who come online, since LFG has only ‘ZERKER WARS AND MESMER ONLY! GEAR CHECK! GOLD RUN!’ quality of spam. I have 6 toons maxed out in exo, and the majority of ppl looking for parties are kicking out anyone who is not a warrior, mesmer, or in ruby accessories. Gear check, seriously? The only gear check required should be for Arah.
No issues with the dungeon, just the players. It’s fun! All burning and kitties.
Ok seriously go to gwlfg again. Look at the list again. Yes there are memser/warrior berserker or whatever group. But that is infact the minority.
Most of them dont’ ask for gear check. So your problem is “maybe” you want to join those group and you can’t.
My problem is ‘definitely’ players who tell me ‘sorry zerker warriors or mesmers only’ even if I am a DPS Guardian/Ranger/Ele/Thief/Necro. Even if their posts say ‘Speed run! For gold!’ The difference completing a dungeon in 5 mins and 15 mins isn’t the end of the world.
I loved pugging for AC. Especially those that kill Kholer. We could have a whole party of 80s or 60/45/74 and things still work out in the end. Now even with a full party of 80s in exotics, I get people rage quitting. It’s rather sad. Love the spider bit, but the knockback graveling, stealth howler, are a bit much. We were only given 2 dodges, not 20. These days we can barely afford to have someone below 60 into AC. AC, the FIRST dungeon. “Required Level 35”.
The same amount of time spent trying to get Grast to make his shield = time taken to down Alpha. Probably spent lesser time on Alpha.

I enjoyed the new dungeon, but please make the npc more reliable. He’s now the worst party player ever. We used to be able to dodge the red circles, but now that Anet has made npcs useful, please extend Warmaster’s lifeline and his timing for the shield.
- He dies too fast. Everyone was pouring their button 6 to heal him, my signet of undeath to rez him and he dies all too often because he went leeroy all over the boss.
- His timing for shield is unreliable. The entire party stuck by him and by the time the shield was up, we were dead. 30 mins into CR, we decided to call it a day.
If we’re being forced into 600 range, the Warmaster should at least have decent toughness/vita. Why is he a glass cannon?
In the meantime, I’ll be doing CoF, HoTW and CoE. Alpha’s an absolute breeze compared to a graveling spam + knockback. There’s a limit to how many times we can dodge (even with endurance food, the amount of times I fly back is ridonkulous) and this only makes everyone in the party equip all break stuns in their utility instead of, say, using other skills that benefits the party.
The reason I avoid FoTM is because the team has to wipe whenever someone’s dead. Now Anet’s making dungeons resemble FoTM? Not funny. This is NOT polishing it. The previous ‘Down, rez. Dead, wp’ worked marvelously. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
This will only cause players to not want pugs. I’ve played with a lot of pugs and they’re generally an awesome bunch, even the inexperienced will do well with a little guidance. This ‘no wp’ thing only hurts the learning experience and please, everyone’s a noob once and this will only cause the more experienced to be more picky about players.
Bump. I just leveled my Artificing and voila, when I tried to consume the Corrupted Branch, it says ‘you have learnt it’ but nothing showed up in my crafting window.
Goodness, I thought I was going crazy. Took out AC tokens, got DC. After I came back, they were gone from my inventory. What’s up, Anet?
Oh god, I thought I was going crazy. My AC tokens and my spanking new rare shoulder disappeared after I unequipped during CoF Path1 (those fireballs).
How does one go about informing Anet?
“Going…hypothermia!!”
Love the lore, and even though I have a Charr and Sylvari on the side, the Asura will forever be my favorite. Even though my reaction at Rata Sum’s loading screen being ‘OMG SO MANY DOBBY’S’. XD
The way they dance. Popping! Also, with the current armor she looks like an adorable little pirate. Pirate pimp if hat is visible.
