If this was your first MMO, what would you think?

This is my first MMO, I have never played any other MMO prior to it because I don’t want to pay the subscription fees.
I have spent more then 200 hours into this game. Like it a lot. But personal story wise, feel like very underwhelming. I like the dungeon in this game, it’s been challenging. Since I have no other MMO experience, can’t really say GW2 dungeons are better than others or not.
GW2 gives me the impression of so many things to do than any other (non MMO) games. It’s tire sometimes when tried to figure out list of things I want to do in GW2.
I find myself pay more attention to other MMO games than before, someday I will definitly give traditional MMO a try, I am very curious about the raiding system ~_~

Guildwars 2 is in danger if arenanet doesn't act on their endgame while they still can

I kinda of agree what OP said, but be nice to have some sort of armor progression to the dungeons. At this current system, I can just go for one explore mode dungeon that offers me the best looking gear. After that, there is no reason to do the same thing with other explore mode dungeons.
Maybe if arena nets could increase like 5 points up(not too much) to armors for each dungeon. I think people are just looking for something that could convince them to keep on playing. It’s a good thing, no matter what model arena net is using, they want to sell tons of GW2, and there are bunch of people that decided not to jump in because of end game. That’s a huge market there, why not address it to bring more people in?

Boss Fights, No healing class, is there any point to this?

I think it’s fine to not have the holy trinity system. But would be nice if arenanet can increase the healing amount from the skills. I am building my warrior as a tanking class, with the main focus on healing power, vitiality and toughness. The problem is that my healing skill couldn’t even heal me up to 75% of HP when I am close to dying.
Also, maybe increase the regeneration of group health much faster. In the heat of combat, the regeneration to me seem like little to none.
Just a side note, I think guild wars 2’s tanking is different from other MMO, when I am trying to tank, I usually aggro few enemies on me while running around and dodge their attacks, the classic standing still ways of tanking seems not apply to GW2. That might put someone off, but I am fine with that.

that’s a nice little surprise I didn’t know since I play as a human warrior.

haha, this game is rated T, if they let you kill him, you would probably hear the voice of trahearne screaming, and you would have to imagine the rest yourself.

I have been playing GW2 for a month now. Everything in the game seems to be well done. But only the personal story contents feel a bit weak. Since the story has been done and will be hard to change, so maybe arena net could improve the aspects on the upcoming expansion.

First of all, the character development is not really good, I don’t really see myself invest into what happened around me. The cutscene does not bring emotion to the players as it needed. There are couple moments I thought using in game cutscene would be more appropriated.

For example, in the quest where you defended the claw island, the action picks up when enemies invade from the beach. All we got was a text saying undead is coming. It would be nice to show in game cutscene where undead emerged from the water and storm the beach. Also, putting a few lion’s arch soliders being slaughter and running away would do the job to set the mood.

At the very end of the quest, where the players’ mentor sacrifices him/herself should be more dramatic and emotional too. Don’t just show the door being shut. Show what the mentor was thinking at the time before he/she charge into hordes of undead. The camera angle during the cutscene could pan out to the top slowly for showing one person running into hundreds of undead.

Also, for making players care about characters. Maybe try to give them more personalities. Like in GTA, where everytime you go in and pick up a mission, there is a cutscene showing what those characters were doing before you show up. Different character should chat differently too, don’t just chat about what’s going on at the very moment. Those characters should have different hobby, and they should occasionally brings up what they do for fun and what they do for living to spices up the conversation. It doesn’t have to be in cutscene, maybe just few random lines or two when the player is running with them.

GW2 is a very fun game, it’s very hard for me to see certain aspect that’s not on par to the best. The story and character development does stick out like a sore thumb. Hopfully arena net could read this and maybe they could improve GW2 in the next expansions or patches.
