I’d focus on adding more functionality to guild, improve leaderboard, bring armory to the web site. Then revemp all the dungeons, fix the final boss fight, push out party finder, bringing more strategies to world vs world, and push out spectator mode for PVP……etc.
I dont like ANY of the staff skins, they all just look like a skinny metal pole with some crappy shape on top. Give me a staff with glowing floating crystals on both ends with hand grips that looks awesome. Not a level 80 exotic that is literally a stick with a light on top.

Last time arena net release a descend gear, which increase tiny bit of stat already drove them crazy. Just enjoy the game as it is. I don’t think arena net would dare to release another tier of armors.
Not that it’s bad, I totally enjoy the game and all. In fact, loving what they did with SAB.
But is there another flame and frost update coming at the end of April?
I think SAB is a real smart idea to have developers design levels that are not bound to the game world. Arena net can put in enviroment that does not have to make sense to the world of tyria.

It would be nice if a net can continue add contents to Super adventure box through months to come. One more activity for us, the jumping puzzle lovers to look forward to.
These temporary contents feel like waste to me, after all their hard work, once the time is up, they seal it away and will never see the light of the day again.
More content in the game is always nice, I am hoping that super adventure box can stay in rata sum forever.
I totally agree with what OP said. Please arena net, make more permanent contents. In the first few month, there are friends curiously asking me:“what did A net add after release of the game?” I said:“Well, there is halloween event, karka boss fight, and winter’s day.” friend asked:“great, I will jump in and take a look.” I shake my head:“nono, those events are over.” My friend with sad face.
It would be nice if they can spend more times on filling the Tyria with permanent content. Every time after the time is up, all the contents A net worked hard on is gone for good. And we are back with normal GW2 which is kinda sad. Tyria never feel like growing and expanding, rather than just fill with temporary events every month.
I started playing less when I got black ops 2. I think it has become tradition for me and my friends, we always spent 1-2 month on the new COD before moving on to other things.

We are only going to get back slot and rings for now, but in future update, they plan to add full sets.

It’s possible not an dungeon exclusive, not sure. But I was replying to early post saying that because ascended armor doesn’t have normal slot to increase the more overall stat, that he/she would have to keep second armors in the inventroy. My take was no matter ascended armor data is, +2 or -2, I am going to wear it outside of dungeon anyways.

They basically just create gear treadmill in one single dungeon.
If people does not wish to get into it, they can stay out of the dungeon, and still be able to go for more weapon skins or armor skins and what not.
It’s just like Jumping puzzle, where some of the player hated them, so they just don’t do it. GW2 have so much content that players can ignore one and still enjoy the rest.
I don’t see the problem with +2 stat points, arena net could possible later release more powerful rune for the game that can balance out the +2 stat points.
WvWvW won’t be affected by accended gear, as there are no agony you can resist from, and there are no agony you can deal to other players.
The gear does increase stats a bit, but you don’t get the slot(only infusion) to upgrade your stat like normal armors do.
I thought they did good job this time. Agony is basically only effective in the new dungeon. For people who like gear progression, they can feel stronger as they progress deeper into dungeon with infusion. For people who doesn’t like treadmill, just stay outside of the dungeon and proceed with your normal business.
In the future, when there are players with high agony resistance, you wouldn’t notice the difference when you travel with them doing dynamic events or normal dungeons.
I have more than 5 friends who currently is playing GW2. It would be cool to run a dungeon with 8 friends or so.
I remember last time I watched a stream vid, where a arena net dev answer such question with :“we will look into it.”
Maybe it does not have to call “raid” . Maybe call it “guild dungeon” or something. For more larger group of people to team up and run through extremely hard and chaotic dungeons. That could be fun.

For those players that think not enough end game for GW2, now they have reason to return. Expect people who is on the fance of purchasing GW2 due to end game, to finally make their jump to the game.

Yes, new gear progression, that’s exactly what I want.
Just because Guild wars 2 now have gear progression, it will not turn into WOW. In the other post, people say that raid is the thing that could turn guild wars 2 into WOW. In another post, people claim that mount will turn GW2 into WOW. Stop giving WOW so much credit, they didn’t invent everything on RPG elements.
I agree with OP, there should be something similar or better than raid in GW2.
Something for people to hunt for besides weapon skins.
Haha, I agree with you. Some of the dungeon bosses in the game are totally not fun. They are so damage soaking, and does not require any specific tactic to deal with them, that it becomes auto attack for 15 mins fest.
I don’t like repeating from dying and running back too, I thought dying suppose to be punishment for not doing well, but rather it somehow evolves into a tactic for dealing with the endless enemies spawn.
The looting also needs to be tuned too. Farming dungeons for various weapon skins are just not enough. Boss drops are terrible too, there really isn’t enough incentive for people to continue doing dungeons over and over again.
I think there is end game for GW2, just very little of it. People want new stuff, this you can do everything up front does not cut it. At level 80, players have already seen the contents. Players want new stuff to keep them busy. They don’t want to go back to previous zones because they want to see new stuff.
I am not worry about the end game as of now, because I am sure Arena net is working hard right now to provide us more end game contents as we speak.
The thing I am worry about is the reward for end game. There has got to be reasons for people to play those end game contents. After I got the Max armors and weapons, there is really no point of farming, because everything I do after this point is basically for various looking armors and weapons, nothing else. I am sure some people are fine with it, but not everyone of them.
I think there are two options that can make end game rewarding much better, one is to add new tiers of armors and weapons(basically more progression), second is to reward players new weapon type and new weapon skills.
I think Arena net should give more incentive for players who are into grinding explore mode dungeons in the game.
They can give unique one weapon type for each class to unlock for playing dengeons,
or they can introduce one weapon type for heavy armor (warrior and guardian), one weapon type for advanturer(ranger, thief, and engineer), and one weapon type for scholar(elementlalist, nercomancer, and mesmer). However there should be different skills for each class to unlock.
For the the new weapon type, it should require players to get 300 tokens from each of the 8 dungeons. Once a player have that, they can go back to lion’s arch and buy the new weapon type from the merchant.
It would be nice for A net to put in new merchant for that sort of thing, so they can keep drop new weapon types in the future for newer dungeons to use.

so..does the high or full indicate how many players in the server at that moment in time? or instead, high or full means the total server population(online players+offline players)?
I have seen people saying that the GW2 world(server) is base on entire population which includes online and offline people.
But what I have noticed is that when events like halloween hits, it tends to have tons of full servers. This mourning, I checked, only two full servers, so I am leaning towards to the idea that server population is base on people who is playing currently.
I am just curious what has arena net said about how the server work in GW2?

Part of their Manifesto. Statted gear progression always leads to bigger numbers, otherwise the progression stops.

I can understand how he feels, considering the suggestion has been made countless times. Just like how the ‘Do something about the bots’ suggestion gets old.

How is arena net making max gear easily to get? Even if I get it I can’t wear it until level 80. That took me 140 hours to do so. Most of the game if you spend 140 hours to reach the max, and get the max armors, it’s not easy to get.
Easy or not is subjective, everyone feels differently.
Guild wars 2 already suck away my life, i have invested more than 300 hours into the game. How is my suggestion counter-intuitive? If you have new maps, does it suck away your time more? If the game’s level cap increase, does it make you level up more and thus invest more time in it? It’s same as more gear progression, you are going to invest more time with it.
Every game is design to grab people for very long investment. That’s how they sell expansion and DLC. Look at call of duty, it’s not traditional MMO, does it suck people in(maybe not you) for long period of time? Yes! It can.
Guild wars 2 is also design with sucking people in for long period of playing time. Or why would they make the game this huge? They could have made just one map to run around.
Are you looking for more level 80 contents to travel to? are you looking for more dungeons? If GW2 does not want to suck people in and play for long time, I don’t know what is.

I never used the words “stop asking for it” and i have never implied that suggesting gear treadmills will get you banned, you must be confusing me for someone else. All i said was to ask for a gear treadmill in GW2 is unreasonable, since it goes against Anet’s wishes for the game.

I have never played WOW before, GW2 is my first MMO, I am just hoping that there is a bit more gear progression at the end game. I mean arena net already have gear progression in the game from level 1-80, would be nice for them to make gears more layers before hitting the eventual max stats.
I know that weapon skins are important, people want to look cool and all, but to me, it seems like getting max armor set from farming level 35 AC dungeon was a bit too quick. Because from there forward, there is no point of killing bosses or opening chest(aside from fun), you are not going to find anything better(stat wise). The feeling of looting for better stuff seems to disappear.
Looting is huge part of GW2, I just wish they could focus a bit more on the looting past level 80.
How about more skins for each dungeons, and still keep the gear progressions? That way we can have more varients of same stats armors and weapons, and also satisfy people who craves for more powerful armors and weapons.
I have a level 80 character running the explore dungeons for past few weeks. The goal obviously is trying to get the better gears. But after I have farmed enough AC tokens to get the whole armor sets and weapons I desire to use, I find myself wondering what’s next for me. I have no reason to try to farm other dungeons any longer, since they all give out same stats of armor sets, only with different look to it. My friends has also stopped running explore dungeons because there isn’t better armors and weapons to farm in the game.
It would be nice if Arena net could make all explore mode dungeons unlock at level 80. You need to farm enough from first explore dungeon, so you can get enough tokens to buy armors, therefore prepare yourself for second(even harder) explore dungeon and so on.
I am not worry about my character being too powerful in 1-15 zone, the truth is my friends and I rarely go back to the lower level zone for dynamic events anymore. Few times we have gone back are for dungeons and halloween event(collecting candy corns). Besides, We have find ourselves super powerful in lower level zone anyways. I could even complete most of the dynamic events just by myself.
I feel the cool weapon skins could only carry the game so far, the stats are what’s important. Everytime I pick up an armor piece, I am looking at the stats first then judge on the look later. Guild wars 2 is an awsome game, I just hope it can give more reasons for people like me to stay in the beautiful world of Tyria longer.
I enjoy halloween events from act 1-act 3 so far. It has been fun, but one thing that bugged me was the loot.
I was kinda surprised after completing the mad king dungeon, all we got was a inventory bag. The problem is inventory bag does not reflect on the character, people want stuff that can tell something about them, like what they have accomplished in the game. Inventory bag with trick or treat art on it just doesn’t do that.
I don’t think players come to halloween event asking for top stats armors or weapons, people are just looking for souvenirs that can put on the character and distinguish themselves from other players that chose not to participate the event.
Mad memories flaming book is a good start, but I was hoping maybe a stylish helmet or armor with simple “halloween 2012” on top of it would be nice. It doesn’t have to be mad king related, just some odd looking halloween theme souvenirs that people can take to battlefields and brag about it to other gamers with. Hopfully, act 4 can address the issue.
Before halloween event began, I have searched on youtube for other games’ halloween events. To my surprised, it seems like none of them are bigger than guild wars 2 halloween event. I am quiet happy with how much contents A net pump out for halloween(even a freaking dungeon). However, just a slight complain that it would be nice to have better loots.
Overall, good job arenanet, looking forward to the act 4 and next holiday event.

It was…….a nightmare for me as I spent whole day jumping it.
But first time when I reach the tower, it was very sweet as I nearly bursted out tears of joy.
I am just a bit confuse of how each act work in GW2. For example, act 1 starts at oct 22, will it end on oct 26 when act 2 is out? or act 1 will still be there until halloween event ends?

actually…what I am suggesting at the beginning was only to have mounts during specific dynamic events. If you try hijack the mount and run away, the mount will disappear. You can only follow the NPC by not detour too much.
If using a mount means disable of waypoints, which travel method would you perfer, mount or waypoint?
I think personal mount would sort of break the game. There is a reason why GW2 has ton of waypoint across the world. They make it so that people don’t need the mount to travel.
Just a wild suggestion, if there s a system when you are on a mount, you can’t use waypoint at all. If player decide to dismount and use the waypoint, arena net could put long CD on the mount, so that players don’t just dismount and mount very quickly across waypoint.
back to the topic, I thought instance mounts should sort of put varity on GW2 gameplay. For those players who crave for mounts, maybe looking for different games.
I think guild wars 2 is fine without using mounts to travel around the world, as there are waypoints.
However, it would be nice if arena net can introduce dynamic events where it involves using mount to travel from point A to point B?
For example, NPC show up with bunch of moe behind him, tell players to protect him/she to get from point A to point B. Players can go near the moa and choose to mount. Players get new weapon bar while on the moa. There is restriction to how far you can take the moa away from NPC. If you wonder too far away, or Waypoint to other locations, the moa will automatically run back to the NPC, leave players on foot. Once the quest has completed, players auto dismount the moa, and back on foot.
Arena net can also throw in some dynamic events that introudce chopper mounts for air combat, that would be fun too.
I think dynamic event mounts could spice up the gameplay and bring more varity to the game itself. There are already stationary turrets that players can mount to fight the dragons, why not some event only mounts?
