Touring with us makes you approximately 20 gold in 2 hours
bump!

We do Arah runs daily as well, so join us if you’re interested in that too!
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
1. Candidates with excellent knowledge and skill. We expect all our members to use appropriate consumables for each dungeon or fractal in guild groups.
2. Candidates who have a strong knowledge of at least two classes and are comfortable with bringing them into our dungeon runs. We are looking for people who can adapt to different situations, and not just people who have done Arah 20314091239 times.
3. Candidates who are willing to invest into changing their play styles and builds for greater party benefits.
4. Candidates who are able to operate in a mature environment and not cause drama or offend anyone under reasonable circumstances.
5. Candidates who are able to back up their claims with numbers or evidence.
6. Candidates who represent us. Since we are strictly a PvE guild, we understand that people have side guilds such as WvW guilds, Personal Guild Banks and other guilds with friends. This is absolutely fine. However, we expect Coldsnap to be your primary guild; this means representing for a majority of the time.
7. Candidates who use Teamspeak 3 whenever they are running with Guild members.
Our rules are strict and those that do not follow them will be removed from the guild. If you agree to these rules and are still interested in our guild, please continue reading.
HOW TO APPLY
Coldsnap has a trial system in place for potential recruits who are interested in our guild. After submitting an application, we will evaluate your application and decide whether you are fit to try out for the guild. You will be evaluated on three main components:
1. Skill level: We evaluate your skill, experience and ability to run dungeons at our efficiency. This is simple – if we think you’re good enough or have the potential to improve to our level, you will pass this part.
2. Communication: You will be asked to lead a group from IX through a dungeon. We will be evaluating you based on your ability to communicate your strategies to us, and keep the group together.
3. Personality: We will evaluate your ability to fit in with our group. We have many different personalities across the roster, and we are looking for people that can respect that.
If you have any questions about our guild, please send an in-game mail (not whisper) to one of the following:

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OURSELVES
Coldsnap [IX] is a high-level Dungeon and Fractal Guild (PvE) on Blackgate. At Coldsnap, we try to bring elitism and an enjoyable atmosphere together to provide the greatest value to our members. Our guild is most active around reset, and we usually have dungeon tours and fractals going on at this time. We are extremely experienced in all of the dungeon paths in the game, and we are looking for people with similar skill and experience to join our roster. Coldsnap provides a full set of guild missions every Sunday, one hour before reset.
WHO WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR
1. Bad players. Unfortunately, there is no other way to put it. We are an elite PvE guild that houses some of the best PvEr’s in Guild Wars 2, and we are looking for players like us to expand our roster.
2. Arrogant people. Despite our top-level skill, we still play this game for fun. In order to have fun, we make sure to maintain a positive atmosphere within the guild. Regardless of how good you are, arrogance will not be tolerated.
If you are still interested in our guild, please proceed to read the next section.

Bounties will be up in a couple days. Send ME an in-game mail if you have any questions about joining or the guild itself. Thanks!
you should really have a separate set for PvE and WvW. As people have already said, d/d or s/d zerker with scholar runes are definitely optimal, but many people have trouble surviving with these builds as zerk eles with scholar runes could be the most glass way of playing the game.
inb4 buff is actually a nerf to lightning hammer
Oh sorry one more thing – When you contact us, please send us mail instead of whispers! It makes it much easier for us to reply to you. Thanks!
bump!! still looking for more people Art of War is at level 5, so missions coming soon!
gotta +1 for this tbh, gonna bring different types of people into the game so that people can experience a bit of every culture and everything. Being fluently bilingual in Chinese and English, I’m probably not going to use it, but I do understand how frustrating it is to play a game when you don’t understand everything that’s going on in terms of the lore and story, especially when it comes down to an MMO like GW2.
Our 4k+ Achievement points requirement is not strict at all. If you don’t have 4000 achievement points but still believe that you have the skill to join us and that this is your place, go ahead and shoot me a mail
Yup, I have a Superior Sigil of Sorrow for after I stack bloodlust on the dredge fractal, along with a stack of 10% potions against them.
Sounds guuuuud PVT best way
Necro! Necros are the best class for dps in the game! make sure to always have at least 2 necros in your party when you run dungeons. It’s a plus if they run Shaman’s gear!
But for the record, rangers definitely do have their place in dungeons. They are AMAZING for certain party compositions.
Vevina! not sure if people have gotten around to that yet though.
We are generally on around reset and start our tours then!
Gah why can’t you be in NA T_T
NEW REQUIREMENT: PLEASE ONLY RUN ZERKER w/ SCHOLAR RUNES
80 laurels and 6 gold ;-;
dungeon tours are done around reset!

We use teamspeak 3 as our main VOIP program
A couple of our guild members including myself have transferred to Blackgate, so that is where the guild will be primarily based in now. I hope this changes some of your opinions
I somehow got a score of 11 my fellow brethren.
Okay jokes aside, DHE is a great guild for those of you that are skeptical about joining!
Hey Shining KoW!
Coldsnap is a newly formed PvE elitist guild in Darkhaven. I think that it will be suitable for you because we do not expect people to be on 24/7, but while we are on we try to create an elitist atmosphere for the guild as well. We do daily fractal 38+, and will soon become an invite-only guild. If you are interested in joining, please do not hesitate to mail me in game.
Thanks!
I would rather see them kept account bound unfortunately, they are one of the only sets in the game that show prestige :/ even though people may get lucky in 28s and get them, the chances of getting the one you want is still really low till you work your way to 48. Gives the people that love doing fractals some rewarding features \: Otherwise fractals will just become another money grind, and the prices of fractal weapons just gradually fall.
The Aetherblade dungeon was really fun too, I wish that was permanent. Even making a legendary isn’t difficult, its just either time consuming or expensive- and anet advertised this game as a game where farming was less prominent than othwr mmos.
thats exactly what I’m trying to say though. Instead of looking at things that would take forever to complete, we want to see more of things that would be difficult to complete. I have yet to come across anything in gw2 that is difficult, other than the Arah P4 that isn’t the slightest bit rewarding.Even just making the rewards on Arah P4 like 10 times better would make a huge difference
tl;dr: release more challenging content so that people who have played for longer can feel a reason to keep going.
Guild Wars 2 has a combat system that is second to no other MMORPG in many aspects, and that alone makes the game extremely fun. However, I am starting to find that after reaching level 80 on my third character now, I am starting to lose sight of goals in the game as there is not much elitism in the game. I had a lot of fun leveling my characters straight through to 80, but now that I’ve done most dungeon paths and explored most of the map, I feel like the game is dying on me.
I’m in no way saying that I have done everything that the game has to offer, but I feel like I’ve seen enough to know what the end-game is like. Guild Wars 2 is a game that is extremely fun to pick up, extremely fun to learn.. and then not exactly so fun to master. It has gotten to the point where in order for me to find challenging things to do in this game, I’ve been trying to duo/trio some of the dungeon paths – and I don’t think this was intended by ArenaNet.
With that said, I would like to see more challenging content appear in this game. Challenging content that is much more rewarding, specifically. I never played GW1, but from what I hear from other players the mechanics were much more complex. For example, we could have “hard mode” dungeons by choice, where the difficulty is drastically scaled up and if your team wipes, you’re forced to restart the whole dungeon. This would cater towards newer players in a sense that they can still run the existing dungeons without a difficulty increase, as well as more experienced players who are up for more of a challenge, for a much greater reward.
We could also have dungeons specifically designed for parties smaller than 5 people, or have fixed loot for example. So if the dungeon was completed by 3 people instead of 5, they could have a larger share of the total loot available from the dungeon. I’m not talking precursors and stuff as that would affect the economy, but at least give us a reason to do things like that. It’s not that hard and we’re not asking for a lot content, we just want to see a more challenging end-game in GW2.
Another thing is – players also tend to get stimulated by getting rewarded for short-term activities. And although crafting a legendary is awesome and should by all means stay as tedious as it is right now, I feel that the game should be moving in a direction that provides adequate rewards for activities or tasks that are shorter in length. Generally this means, more activity, and less cosmetic grinding.
Lastly, I am aware that ArenaNet has said that they plan on doing something about the blue and green drops that do nothing other than fill up your inventory at level 80. I would like to see ANet decrease the drop rate of blues and greens by A LOT and replacing them with useful items of the same price range instead. For example, looting a dungeon chest could give a small amount of crafting materials instead of 3-4 blue items that were worth the same 3-4 silver that you would have gotten. This would make it much easier for us to manage our inventory, as well as give us more items that are actually being traded between players and not just vendored on sight.
I’m not sure exactly how to build traits on the new ele I made, any tips? I’d like to go more towards a damage build over supportish healing
