I was rightfully suspended for charging with a barrage of insults on some trolls in you know what farming zone you know where. While a warning would have sufficed, by the rule book, I did indeed deserve the suspension. My concern is that I was reported by a person who had been trolling the game for many of us and succeeded at ruining it. This person has the ability to then linger in expectation of someone charging after them (like I stupidly did) to then report them and get away with it. Now, I do wonder if arena.net does ban people who troll others in game play. While I do agree with punishing extreme foul language, I do think it is only fair to also punish those who ruin others’ playing experience. Any precedents that you know of? My fear is that, if we were to report trolls, we may face suspension ourselves for false reporting as there is no specific way to prove trolling activity.
Still, in case you did not know, be warned that the reporting system seems to be pretty efficient and on top of things. Matter of fact, it seems to be ten times faster than either arena.net customer service or any kind of trouble ticket response.
