I find bombs to be much better in PvE to grenades. They’re more powerful, and you can kite just as well.

I haven’t quite gotten the hang of engi’s in PvP yet, except throwing grenades off the roof of a keep onto attackers.

This happened to me last night. I believe it was because I chose the 3rd option in the downed position that lets you get back up but kills you afterwards, basically I died before the game auto killed me and when I respawned the auto kill happened. That’s the only time it’s happened though.
