Learn my name, or do not. The world will know it soon enough.
The fact that you don’t get quests seems like the game avoids being “fetch-like” in its structure – am I assuming this correctly?
No. True that it is more “meaningful” than a quest hub, don’t be too optimistic to think that they will not have a semblance of the old-school stuff. Technology, after all, is limited and there is only so much you can change. But, the execution is awesome enough to brag about.
You say the game scales you down, but does it also scale you up? So could I explore a level 80 PvE zone at level 1, or does it only work retroactively as I progress?
No, it does not scale upward. This was an old speculation which did not materialize, for better mind you. As far as no longer being able to faceroll lower end mobs, you will however still feel progress in being “too weak to kill this until later” as a driving force, albeit less tedious as other MMOs.
WvW sounds interesting. How big is the WvW area? Is it more like a single map with two forces piling on top, never really attaining a true “victor” but always having goals to accomplish? Or does it more resemble the massive areas found in games like Warhammer?
Never played Warhammer, but the short version is simple. 3 “worlds” fighting for world buffs and bragging rights on a huge as heck map. Organized battles, micromanaged missions, castles and siege weaponry. There will be a “World tier matching” so that it doesn’t become a zergfest.
Have fun!
The description just needs to be clearer. A lot of traits are like that, not specifying duration and amount of damage dealt.
On the plus side, you can respec pretty easily, so you can plan it out better.
When in doubt, i youtube.
I would also like to know if this works as intended.
A boost to magic find increases the player’s chance to receive rare loot from drops.
So i’m guessing it will not affect salvaging or reward items for achievement completion (though prize chests after boss fights/jumping puzzles technically still “drop” the loot).
Extending it to the age-old question…
When does the “Magic Find” trigger its effects? Common possibilities are:
Additional interesting questions:
Does it only affect the drop of certain types of items (like rare mats) or gives a blanket better chance for a higher rarity version (like greens over blues)?
Can the effect be shared in a party? As in, does it affect the mob, or the act of looting the remains?
Thanks!
