I have the same problem with my desktop on a gtx550ti, it’s a problem with the game. In no scenario should a game barely utilize a gpu.

It happens when the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU.

It doesn’t matter what your graphics card is. Your CPU is simply too weak.
It’s unreasonable to expect your 6 year old CPU to be adequate for a modern MMO that is CPU dependent.

Also, where are you getting this $1600 from?
It only costs about $800 to build a computer that can run GW2 at moderately high settings at 1080p with playable FPS during intense WvW battles.

But since your GPU is already pretty good, you only need to upgrade your CPU, Mobo, Ram, and PSU, which shouldn’t cost that much compared to buying a whole new computer.

Terrible idea. WvW is heavily focused on teamwork.
I do not want useless players on my team running around with invisible allies.
I don’t care if you think you can play well with invisible allies. It’s a serious handicap.

The soundcard is a waste of money. Almost no one buys them these days. The onboard sound chip on your mobo is just as good unless you are a professional sound engineer or something.

Getting around 50-60% usage on both gpu and cpu with only around 50fps sitting and 30 moving. WvWvW is aorund 15-25. Anyone know why it wouldnt use 100%? or anyone have/ fixed the same problem?

Answer: Your CPU is bottleneck.

I also have 7950, but my CPU is i5-3570k.
My GPU is constantly at 100% usage.

Actually, most of those complaints are people with LAPTOP i5 and i7.
Laptop CPUs are significantly weaker than their desktop versions.
Some mobile i5s aren’t even quad core.

I have i5-3570k and Radeon 7950, and I have 0 problems other than occasional texture flickering(not related to performance).

You are seeing low GPU usage because your CPU is bottlenecking. I see this same complaint in EVERY mmo forums from users with weak or outdated CPU.
