I can’t play tournaments at all with this lag. It’s honestly taken me from rank 58 to 400+. I’m playing like a complete noob because of the skill lags.
Can you please post some help with this, I’ve had others complaining in game as well, but no1 nearly as bad as me. Game is unplayable right now.

there’s many people who have this problem since last patch, all different ISP, around the world. problem suddenly appears when 5 months of lag-free gaming.

I was fine for the first 5-6 months of playing GW2. No lag ever, now after the patch I get skill lags. Most noticeable on my ele. No IS kitten ues, I’ve checked and everything is up to par with my resource monitor.

Hello,
I play competitive pvp on my ele. After the patch it’s been almost unbearable to play. Switching attunements and using skills can take longer than a second to happen which is very annoying as a responsive player style.
I looked into my network usage and nothing is out of the normal. I live in Vancouver, British Coumbia, Canada.
How can I fix this? It only started after the patch. I can’t play top tier pvp like this and will have to wait until it’s fixed. Can someone guide me to a solution or if it’s Anet’s server give an ETA for a fix?

A small critique – Renewing Stamina (Arcana VI) will provide much more survivability than either Arcane Energy or Final Shielding.
Also, Cleric’s amulet is generally the way to go for a d/d ele bunker.

In reply to Renewing stamina, it only works with crits; so no that’s not viable with a power build / soldier’s amulet. With higher crit chance, i always will recommend that but not with a base of 10%.
In reply to your D/D build vs the build I posted: The build I posted wasn’t for a full bunker spec. It was for decent damage with survivability. All 3 variants are valid builds IMO, just for higher level of pvp you’re not going to bring a bunker ele your going to bring a Gaurdian.

Zone is a beast warrior, I’ve played with him and against him before. Hman is also still running warrior occasional he is also a beast. Only two good warriors I’ve seen currently though.

System is perfect. Why should premades be awarded with massive rating for farming noobs over and over again. But if they do manage to somehow lose to noobs, then they should indeed be punished with a severe rating loss.
They probably just copied GW1 syste. Where for your wins you’d be getting +1 or +2 rating, and for your loss in that case you’d get -25Quite a cool story tho, especially from someone who only does high rank premade super organized teams.
I don’t think you read what he typed. His team won the fight, but because of his short d/c it resulted in a huge rank decrease; even though his team won.

so im number 7 on the leader boreds we win everygame this morning and then 1 game we are winning 480 – 150 and the game crashes then i end up rank 25??? (we won that game btw)
dc when your winning should not drop you in MMR in no world does that make any sense.
I have to agree with you… my mouse has d/c before for half a second then reconnected, but GW2 locks up the keyboard and mouse after it does that for some reason so I have no-choice but to exit gw2 and re-enter the tournament.
When it does that it counts me as a loss; even if we win.
We should be punishing rage quitters, not unlucky d/c.
Simple solution: win with d/c does nothing. Lose with d/c punish. Why would someone leave a match while they are winning on purpose?

Wow Chaith… Kinda lost some respect to you for that first bit in your post. I’ll start by saying I’m a fan of OE. I watch his stream a lot and I’ve also seen him post highlights of duels that were not clear 1v1 duels vs other eles: http://www.twitch.tv/ostricheggs/c/2093759 so I don’t see how you can make a big deal about that.
Yes, he did make some critical mistakes in our duel, and I have lost to him before he’s a very good player…. but since this is an anti-HGH thread let me outline some of the advantages my D/D build has:
- 5 different condi removals (not including #6 heal)
- 6 CC abilities
- 3 stun breakers
- 4 sources of gaining vigor (one being crits)
- moderately high health pool (17k hp good vs condi ticks)
- high burst potential in fire attunement
Those who are smart will figure out what build I’m running. It’s not something you can just pick up a and play, a decent skill level is needed. That being said it can go toe-to-toe with top players, and it will wreck your average hgh player. Your play style has to be focused on dodging grenades, CC’ing the engi, cleansing at the right times, and bursting at the right times.
In team fights. My goal as a roamer / mid fight support is to train the engi. If the engi isn’t putting out AOE condi dmg to my team because of my cc’s then I’m doing my job.

You need to have played a minimum of 12 tournament games. Then based on your tournament wins (MMR) if you’re skilled enough to make the top 1000.

I have “decayed” by 2 places since last night.. so there will be a decay from players over taking in the rankings.. other than that i know nothing on decay coding in there..
an answer would be nice..
a question.. would the community want a decay code or just have it as it is and have active players gradually take over..
that way there is no penalty for taking a break from the game or it being an emergency.
or do you feel that if the rank was attained easily then should it decay for more competition?
This isn’t decay. This is players over-taking your current rank pushing you down. What decay is, is automatically reducing your MMR based on inactivity after a certain period.
Here’s an example. Last month let’s say theoretically there was 100 active players in tournaments. My MMR was very high because of the low competition. Two months later 10,000 active players are playing, but my MMR is still high because I have chosen not to play any tournaments. The competition is much much higher now, and if I were to compete against 10,000 active players my mmr would never be that high, yet it still is because I haven’t decayed over time so in the grand picture of rankings I will stay with-in the top ranks.
That’s an example of how a non-decay system would work.
An example of how a decay system would work: Let’s say after the two weeks of no tournament play the system will reduce my MMR by a few ticks every day until I play again. Once I play again, if I lose or win the MMR will sort itself out.
What does that do? It keeps the best players that are active at the top of the rankings in relation to the current competition with-in the community.

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has noticed that a lot of players who are currently not playing are still in the top 100 spots etc. My question to arenanet is does your leaderboards system have a Decay function? If yes; how often/strong is the decay? If no, can you please let us know why you didn’t go with this feature?
Here’s the issue: A month or so ago we had much less competition in the tournaments so attaining a higher MMR was easier. Now with the slow, but steady return of old players and new players the competition is much higher so attaining a high MMR is a bit harder.
If a player received a high MMR from last month, it would seem natural that if they do not play for a few weeks they would decay until their MMR is lower.
Just wondering if this has been thought of. Sorry for any reposts if someone has already asked.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool that ANet makes sth. special for Halloween, Christmas and even 1st of April, but c’mon ANet – if you can knock out stuff like that every few months, why are we (the PvP-Community) still waiting for Custom Arenas, Observer-Mode, GvG (and/or other Game-Modes), a decent Matchmaking-System and basically everything a successful PvP-Game just NEEDS to have nowadays?
Just let those geniuses from PvE work at PvP for a few weeks and PvP will be good to go!

+1 I’ve been sitting back here waiting for months and months on some simple PVP updates while PvE has been getting the weirdest monthly updates. Take half the resources you give to PvE and put it into sPvP and you will see spvp grow and be profitable if done correctly. I spent over $300 in this game and put maybe 10% of my time into pve and 90% into pvp. I would just like to see some more dedication to the areas we were promised to become esports material.

My first post on the forums here; the new 1v1 paids system HAS to stay. Everything stated above from the OP I second. Please keep it this way.
The only thing I might add is to tier the winning teams higher up. So for example: If team A) wins 9 times in a row it will show at the start of the tourney and be paired up with the second highest consecutive winning team and so on and so on. Then some where in the world you can show the top team in paid tournaments at any given time!
This would be awesome incentive for top teams to battle it out to stay on top.
