Hi guys

So, before I mention anything else, I’m undecided in between this two professions because I prefer casters by a mile, I’ve tried Mesmer and didn’t enjoy the clones playstyle, and I don’t like Engi because I’m not a fan of bombs and nades and that stuff.

Alright, so.. I play mostly WvW roaming and SPvP, much more than PvE.

General knowledge is that Necros > Eles in PvP and Eles > Necros in PvE.

Why don’t I pick Necro then? I’ve leveled one til 80, did some PvE, am currently doing PvP. It just feels a bit dull… I think it’s too easy to play for me, and I don’t find it really much fun… I’m playing conditions, I know about MM but not a big fan of minions, and Power, but power necros aren’t really very competitive for SPvP or WvW roaming.

Now, about the Elementalist… I have very very little experience with them, I know it requires a lot of skill to play in PvP, which I’m totally cool with, I don’t mind taking the time to master it.

The problem here is that Eles don’t seem to be rewarded enough. I absolutely love watching videos of Eles roaming and in SPvP, but I seriously doubt I’ll be rewarded enough by playing one.

I’m afraid I’ll just lose my patience because I’ll be steamrolled by every other class. Is that the way things are atm?
I know there are changes coming, but I think that won’t be enough…

If there are any Eles reading this, can you tell me in your point of view your experiences in WvW roaming and SPvP? What can you kill, what can’t you kill, do you feel rewarded while playing it? Is it frustrating?

I’m gonna start playing SPvP with my Necro, and I don’t want to faceroll (MM), neither want to be meh (Power), because I’m new to SPvP.

I leveled with a condition spec, so I’m quite familiar with the playstyle of Scepter/Dagger and Staff.

1. Is 30/20/0/0/20 still the way to go?

2. How are Condi Necros doing in SPvP overall?

3. Are there any guides that actually show the rotation and some tips?

4. What utility skills should I use? And should I use Plague Form or Flesh Golem and why?

5. How do you manage Death Shroud? When should I go in and out of it?

6. What is the role of Condi Necros in SPvP?

I’ve just started playing SPvP with my Thief (and first time ever playing SPvP).

I’m playing D/P / SB traditional build for SPvP (10 30 0 0 30).

I know there are people who play stealth builds in SPvP, like 0 30 30 0 10

As a first time SPvPer, what build should I go for?

Can you provide me some tips/tricks how I should play my thief? Like what I should be doing in there? How can I be the most efficient?

I really need some counselling and advice, because atm I don’t know how to play it properly.

Totally agree with OP… I just don’t have the feeling I’m stabbing someone… They could make sounds that would make players feel good… The sounds are so dull, you can barely hear them

So, what karma vendors sell exotic accessories?

Hi guys, I’ve just reached 80 with my thief and I got Valkyrie Armor set and zerker weapons.

Where can I get accessories, rings, amulet and back?

I spent most of my gold, but I got 200k + karma and 60 laurels

What is my better option? I’m looking for Zerker stats mostly.

Hi guys, I just hit 80 and decided to go condition simply because I’d rather wait for the crit changes to come and then move to power build.

Can you link me a good standard P/D build?

How about armor? How shall I setup my equips?
I don’t know if I should go full Dire, or Carrion or Rabid, or a mixture… What is most efficient in your opinion?

How about Sigils? I know runes are the Nightmare ones.

I’m fairly new to GW2, therefore I haven’t got much currency to spend in equipment, so I want to focus on power builds for now, so I won’t have to farm 2 types of equipment (condi and power).

So, I’d like to know what power builds fit each area better.

WvW roaming

SPvP

Dungeons

I know for example that condi builds like P/D are the best for roaming, but for the reasons I mentioned I want to know the best power alternative. Also because power is viable at all those areas, while Condi is not viable at all for SPvP, and I want do do it as well.

If there is a guide/build link or you can tell me what weapon sets, traits, etc are better for each area, as of the moment, I’d be very grateful.

P.S: I’m aware of the incoming changes to crit dmg, but I’ll stick with power

Like someone said already, Thieves rely on stealth too much, so if you want to reduce stealth ability, you need to give us thieves something else.

I mean, power builds will have 10% reduction… so, the only thing I see incoming is another big nerf to thieves.

I don’t mind having steath nerfed if you give us other options, but it doesn’t seem that way. What about the good things coming to thieves you talked about?

Not to mention we’ll become even more useless in SPvP, due to the fact we need to constantly stealth, therefore can’t cap bases. At least we could roam and take someone down quickly, but after the crit nerf, what are we supposed to do?

A lot of people complain about thieves, but it really takes skill to play one properly.
If you haven’t tried it, go try one out, and tell me how hard is it to play one competitively.

WARRIORS – I can’t believe after all the feedback in the past months regarding the Overpowerness of Healing Signet you only going to nerf it by 8%. That isn’t going to change anything.

ELEMENTALISTS – Good to see some defensive boost to them, but in my opinion they will still be underpowered. And for a class that takes a lot of skill to play, I think they deserve better.

NECROMANCERS – Like the changes.. maybe you could give them the mobility they don’t have, compared to most professions.

MESMERS – They will still be overpowered. A profession like this, with clone spamming abilities that distract the opposite player, should NOT be overpowered.

ENGINEERS – They are fine… the class which in my opinion requires the most skill to play and gets equally rewarded.

RANGERS – I’m not very familiar with them, although I know Spirit Rangers’ healing and AI are broken, so good changes.

GUARDIANS – Good balance changes to them, nothing much to say.

Be aware that I’m writing more on a PvP perspective

Hi guys, I’m still leveling my thief but I’m already thinking 80. I’ll be mostly doing WvW roaming and SPvP and I know they are completely different settings.

What I haven’t got a clue about is what is more efficient for each? Is it condi or power builds? Or is it just a matter of preference?

And can you tell me the weapons set that better fit the purpose?

My intention is to make thief my main, so I’ll spend a lot of time trying to master this profession

Why do you say that? For what I’ve seen it was mentioned that good things will come for Thieves… There was only the whip nerf

I’m about to start a Thief as a main character, and because I’m not very familiar with this profession, I was hoping you good Thieves gave me some guidance.

When I reach 80 I will do mostly WvW (roaming mostly) and SPvP (although I know thieves aren’t the best for this).

What specs are the most efficient for solo roaming, and SPvP? If you can link a guide/build, that would be very appreciated.

Also, because I’m starting it, what build should I follow for leveling?

If you have any additional gameplay tips for Thiefs, or know a link for it, it would be very welcome

I’m gonna start doing PvP and WvW soon, and I wondered if there is anything that I should know…

I’m playing Necromancer, and I plan on starting with a Dhummfire/Terror build.

Is that the way to go for solo or small group roaming? I know our weakest point is lack of mobility.
Is there any way to counter that?

Any tips/advice for experienced roaming players?

I’ll try and do my best to be really good at it, but because I’m new to WvW roaming, I’m sure there are key things I don’t know regarding the playstyle.
