PLease allow trading post to Filter gear and weapons by Profession

Yea I would like profession-specific armor just so we have a bigger variety of styles to choose from, but that would require an expansion pack at the least. Not something that ANet could just throw in
I support the idea for “normal” events, but I think that the major boss events such as Jormag’s Champion, Shadow Behemoth, The Shatterer etc. should keep their huge broadcast range. These simply require a lot of firepower. Lately I’ve found myself fighting Tequatl with like 4 or 5 more people too much times. It would take 10 minutes to actually muster enough people for the event.
good point, for the huge bosses that drop chests, these should retain its original notification system.
AGREED. I really prefer the traditional method GW1 took. It just felt better and the huge dragon on the menu when you launched the game blew my mind completely. I really really hope this is considered because to be honest, I DO NOT like the way it is now.
I have to say no to this. I like the way it is right now. Transferring dye to account-wide would take away one aspect of a RPG and remove another thing to “collect”. I have no problem with this and it would make individual characters less attractive/interesting.
What could replace these notifications:
- NPCs in the immediate area could run around shouting about whatever is happening, and in some cases run up to players nearby (this already happens with some event triggers and it’s a really great feature that should be used more). This better immerses the player in the world by forcing them to pay attention to their surroundings, rather than their quest notifications and maps. Also, because it’s not broadcasted (just the IMMEDIATE area of the event), less people will show up.
- Once you enter the immediate area of the event, you get your event notification in the upper right-hand corner describing what’s going on, your objectives, etc.
YES YES YES! I just absolutely love this idea and it would surely make NPCs a lot more important. I really enjoyed it when NPCs would run around asking for your help about certain situations and you could decide whether to help them (spark dynamic) or ignore. Immersion, to me, is the #1 thing that draws people in, and this game needs more of that.
Please make this a reality, NPCs are supposed to be your friends, not tedious annoyances.
To add: Once you talk to the NPC, this should prompt the traditional notifications so they’re not entirely removed (only people who talk to NPCs get the notifications) and so it would help in finding the location of the event.

GW2 doesn’t have profession-specific gear – it’s only Heavy, Medium, and Light
Something that was implemented in the first game and it worked out perfectly. I second
I think this would be nice, but limit dyes for weapon specific so it’s not the same as armor dying
More proof that the TP just really needs a preview function.
regina said that it is coming soon
It looks like Shiro’s coat of rage. There’s some other stuff but I don’t remember the name.
-Alejandro
i think it might be something like “Emblazoned”
I’ve already responded to several duplicate posts about this in the BLTC sub-forum. There will be an option at some time in the future to preview Trading Post items.
fantastic
I just think it would help tremendously and prevent major headaches if you were able to preview items on the TP. Already once I bought something and it turned out not to be what I thought it was, wasting my money. Plus it’s worse because the item icons don’t even accurately show what the item looks like (ex: armor).
Nothing negative with this new option, just something that is lacking and would make the game less of a frustration sometimes. You can preview from chat and everywhere else, but why not the trading post?
I read in the FAQ or somewhere stating that the ability to change your display name will be available soon. Just wondering on an ETA when that will be in order.
agree 100%. this should indeed be incorporated

MESSAGE POACH OR SLEEK BLADE FOR INVITE/INFO.

been using the thief since the betas and absolutely love them.
i like this build for more of a solo/spike thief: THEIVES GUILD
use two utility slots for assassin signet (power) and infiltration signet (initiative gain) and pair it with a venom (spider for dps) – when times call, equip with other more appropriate venoms if enemy does severe dmg.
use this for more support thief: DAGGER STORM
again, assassin signet for one utility, scorpion wire to pull enemies into aoe or into the middle of your party to either isolate, focus dmg, or trap. use other utilities that suit the situation (shadow refuge to stealth allies and heal; or smoke screen to block projectiles and blind with ranged attacks).
as for traits, i like to focus on precision and critical dmg, but make sure your deadly arts (power) is high enough so you deal high critical strikes.
even though you have a good build you need to know how to play a thief. you can’t run in and tank or else you will get destroyed; you must get behind your enemies and out of their sight so you can drop a few harrasing attacks to soften them up, then when they’re health is low or they begin to panic, get in and finish them off. jump into their face with heart seeker and dodge out to get out of their range. make sure to use your stealth effectively and sneek behind them to deal x2 dmg.
don’t forget to use dodge as much as possible and stay mobile, this is where the thief is at it’s best, where you can drop in range and deal critical dmg, and dodge out to avoid being hit. make sure you have the trickery trait “uncatchable” so whenever you dodge you drop caltrops to cripple, giving you an advantage to jump in and out without any worry of being severely damaged.
hope this helps

-explore maps in their entirety as you will be rewarded greatly for your efforts.
-make use of the trading post as it will be your best friend to making money
-browse the trading post to see what items are trending and keep an eye out for any lucky drops
-play the game and enjoy the fantastic art encorporated into the world
this is not like any other mmo, the environment and detail really sets it aside from others and makes you just wanna sit back and enjoy, rather than grind for money.
Like many people, I am shooting for the human cultural tier 3 armor; and as we all know, that beast of an armor costs 119G for a whole set. Although I don’t really agree with the price, I’ve been saving up to get my hands on this.
Currently I have 12.6G, mainly from exploring maps, doing hearts and completing dungeons. I’ve started since the headstart launched (so about 2 weeks) and this is what I got. I have been slowing down on exploring because it’s too time consuming and am just doing dungeons now, occasionally selling on the trading post when I get good drops. If I have a good day, I make 1.5-2G a day.
What do you guys do make your money, and how effective is it?

then explain when I set quality to high= lag; set quality to low= no lag…
… This is not a game bug. Wait until the forums are up.
Could simply be my internet connection, but my system specs overly exceed the minimum requirements, I’m not running on full graphic quality but have some components on high. When I play the game, I tend to have small lag that seems of low fps and sometimes really nasty lag spikes where my character is able to run around but the skills don’t activate.
I do play other online games such as APB Reloaded and have not had such lag so consistently, and APB is a really demanding game. GW2 gives me these lags almost always during big battles and most of the time when I’m just running around solo in an explorable area. It’s not enough to make the game unplayable, but it can be really frustrating at times.
Could it be the game servers or is it me? Anyone else experiencing this?
After finding the charr in the cage, and prompted to “Find Queen Jennah” the party gets an attempt to nail it, but if the party were to fail and get defeated, the enemies would reset to their normal positions, turn to “allies” (green) and the mission would freeze. The only way to fix it is to go back to the cage where the charr was by the tree and “interact” with the cage, making it close and open again; however, sometimes you would have to open/close the cage many times before it “sparks” the mission again, giving you the prompt to find the queen.
Not something that makes the party unable to finish the dungeon, but very irritating when trying to get through the dungeon in a timely manner.
save this for when the forums are officially up…. this is not a Game Bug.
Happens frequently when a party member joins a dungeon (others get prompted to join in) and at least one member either can’t join entirely, or is placed in an entirely different instance and is not able to connect with the party’s world. Relogging does not fix the problem nor does kicking/reinviting.
Other times occur when the mini map says your party member is right next to you (blue dot) but in reality he is not. “Join in ________” seems like it works as the game “transfers” you to your party’s world/overflow, but does not fix the problem – blue dot, no one there. Other times the “join in” option isn’t even available.
Last but not least, party member shows up (blue dot) on the map and is moving but soon disappears. Also, on the map, you can see him, then everything vanishes when he gets out of your line of sight. I don’t know if it’s just me or the game.
