TEMPORARY SOLUTION:

Just for the heads up, I made some diggings the whole night figuring out how to use the “crossover” and I finally made it.

TP is WORKING over CROSSOVER, but unfortunately the game is NON-playable for me. The client is so glitchy and slow, but selling and purchasing is possible as you can see in the attachment.

So what I did is gathering all what I wanted to sell in my bank, and I made one login thru crossover made the selling and purchased what I wanted and then came back to my mac client version and kept playing.

I KNOW it’s not the best solution but it worked for me and I will accept it temporary better than waiting all this time.

If you are interested how I did it:

- Download Crossover & install it.
- Downloaded GW2 “WINDOWS” Version
- Run Crossover and choose “install a windows application”
- Choose the installer which is located in “Guild Wars 2” folder in your desktop.
- You need to choose a “bottle” which is somehow a folder inside crossover to run the game. Simply choose a name and the supported windows you like. For me it worked automatically at winxp/winVista. Then hit INSTALL.
- Crossover will run the launcher you will see a quick downloading follows by an update then the real downloading which will show you somehow around 127,000 files. At that time STOP the downloading and close it. Then close crossover.
- Go to your Mac Version GW2 in you applications folder, right click then choose “show package contents”.
- Go to > Contents > Resources > transgaming > c_drive > GW2. then COPY all it’s contents into the folder > /$USER/Library/Application Support/Crossover/Bottles/GW2Setup.exe/drive_c/Program Files/ ( create a folder in here and call it “Guild Wars 2”. ) This is like 19GB I KNOW :/

- For me what I randomly did, is right click on GW2.exe and OPEN WITH > CROSSOVER

Crossover ran the launcher without downloading anything and the game started. Again it’s not playable for me, but I managed to make the TP & GEM Store works …. Temporary

CrossOver works just fine. I got CrossOver and setup Guild Wars 2 through it using this page here: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=7951;tips=1

I’d say it runs similar to the Mac Beta, and the TP works, so there’s that. It’s good temporary solution. I’ve had it crash once and sometimes the performance isn’t as smooth as the beta client, but it works.

Could you please tell us how to do it, I’ve never used that before, and based on last’s Danicia respond, this is gonna take a long time. Please help us!!

Let me be somehow realistic about this. Although I’m being patient about it. But based on the last few comments, I believe this is just a drag out to delay everything to next monday morning. Which I don’t believe they will release it on that day and will delay it one more day along with the new patch. And based on experience that I remember in the beginning of the launch of GW2, I’m pretty sure we are all going to suffer even more from not only the TP, but also from other bugs that the new patch will bring in. For the only example in my mind now is “the megaserver”.

I’m not trying to put more fuel/wood on the current “fire”. I’m just trying to be realistic and accept that we are in bad situation and this might take way longer than what we’ve promised.

In the mean time, I appreciate what ANET is doing and I know it’s gonna take a while. And for that I really really appreciate if some nice guy on the forum teach us a way to deal with this problem “temporary”. I read someone said he is going to install the GW2 with crossover. Does anyone know how or willing to teach us how, please?!

Sorry if I sounded pessimistic, and I hope that I’m totally wrong with that!

If you guys would actually read the comments, they are working on it and it will be released. I see a bunch of you complaining that it’s almost noon where you are and hasn’t been fixed yet. A lot of us live on the East Coast, and we haven’t had a fix either, and it’s later for us. Just wait a little longer; if anything it’ll probably be at reset. No big deal. At least Anet is finally answering us.

its midnight in Europe,,,,, its not just complaining,,,,, the pc version got a fix,,, a friend of mine on pc said its fix for them,,,, its always the same,,,,, for mac we get fix only at the end when people cry out for almost a week,,,,,
they said last night it will be fixed by 11, april morning,,,,, thats why
we all love this game,,, if we don’t we wouldn’t bother,,,,,

Well I’m too not complaining and I totally agree with Oogo. If we don’t love this game we wouldn’t bother. But the thing is, it’s 1:30AM in Middle East and it’s actually 12th of April

- This is my third day and still no TP… I’m so patient so it’s ok.

let me join the club, I have the same problem, I reported that in the client bug reports although I know they won’t respond to that. But it’s the least thing to do for a hopeless person like me… Guess it’s time for some break.

I just can’t believe how this gets bugged 5 days before the big patch!!! too shame
