So, let me get this straight. You’re complaining about the difficulty of end game zones, and you’re not even max level?
when I have exhausted my dodge bar and all my abilities are on cooldown and I am rooted, blinded, feared, dazed, poisoned and on fire, from TWO kitten mobs, death is guaranteed!
How are all of your abilities down? Are you using two weapons and switching during combat?
You made another comment about how the content isn’t fun, but I think Orr is one of the most fun zones to solo.
How would you modify a Legendary currently to make it more Legendary. I am not sure you can deny that they don’t seem very Legendary right now. How would you modify them to make them more awesome?
IMO, especially with the latest changes, the legendary weapons are more than legendary enough. You can’t give them OP stats because it severely risks ruining the game play. Consider that all of a sudden legendaries make content that is challenging for non-legendary equipped players super easy. One of two things will happen:
1. Players with legendary gear will start only wanting to group with other legendary geared players for the purpose of quickly and easily moving through as much content as possible.
2. Developers will have to start making unique content that is challenging for legendary geared players, which is then a huge disaster because you’ll have the 99% upset that they can’t do it.
I hate to be that guy, but I think this is a skill issue and not a general gameplay issue. You said that if people want a challenge, they have their dungeons/legendaries. But what about the people who want a challenging solo experience? Whenever I change my gear/spec, the first thing I do is go practice in Orr. Like others have posted, even the veterans can be taken down solo with a little bit of finesse and caution not to pull the entire zone.
Nerfing this zone would kill a part of the game that is unique, and I personally don’t want to play a game where every zone is the same difficulty.
One final counterpoint is that nerfing the zone could have a drastic effect on the in game economy. If everyone can go to Orr and easy-mode farm mats, then that will affect the value of those mats on the broker.
If the zone is too challenging, stick to the easier zones until you get enough practice to manage in this one.
Let’s keep Super Mario 3 effects in SAB, imo. Of the things you listed, the only thing that would be cool is the use of stationary skills while moving. I’ve seen something similar in another game where it was called “Cast on the Run”. Really nice for finger wigglers, but it was usually a buff that was specific to a certain fight/zone. Doesn’t have anything to do with ice effects though.
My class (guardian) doesn’t get any run speed buffs (except 33 temp from staff, but seriously swapping in staff for an 8 second speed buff is a joke), BUT, I don’t have any complaints about speed. Having a mount would purely be for show, which I’m not against. Just don’t put it under the guise of needing run speed.
OP you may want to check your gear/traits. Going max power/dps is great until you get to the final zones and then its time to invest in survival stats/traits. Aside from the group events, I think Orr is great solo content because it is a challenge. You can’t go beast mode in it like the lower level zones, but if you take your time, it’s really not any more difficult than it should be.
My input
1) 5% increase to top-end is a lot when you add crit/crit damage multipliers
2) Would be a good idea
3) Seems like it would be cool, but also sounds like a dev/qa nightmare.
Kind of depreciates the value of having a legendary imo.
Why do you associate time in real life with the time in a fantasy game? The world has it’s own clock that is entirely independent of Earth time. As far as I know, they aren’t on Earth or even a planet in our solar system. For all we know Tyria rotates 360 degrees every 1 hour of Earth time.
This is an absurd idea. I can’t think of a single MMO that has ever matched real time. It’s more interesting for the game to cycle day/night in short cycles so if you play during the daytime, you can still experience night and vice versa.
Preference aside, I see no real improvement to gameplay based on this suggestion.
Considering that whether you buy them or acquire them through hard work and time spent in the game, this achievement destroys the “Golden” title in terms of invested effort, and I think it deserves its own title.
