This mini-game is incredibly boring. I resort to hiding all the time so I can update my Facebook feed or feed my cats or simply contemplate the Universe.
Would be neat if they made it competitive and that had some kind of reward.

Really it shouldn’t be called a reflect. It should be called Thorns and described as a damage proc.

well tbh, i prefer the twilight look over the sunrise, so I’m not opposed to it. Just calling out the fact that you would most likely rarely see both the blue and the black. Just like you mostly see black/stars in the twilight and occassionally get some of the other space effects in view.
That is indeed a ridiculous mechanic.
I’m sure by the number of posts this has already been pointed out, but, if you’re not using combos, you’re doing it wrong. I mash my combos every time they are up which on a ground fight and my two primary weapon combinations is about every 8 seconds or so.
Only thing I think might be a little more interesting is some next level combos. Rather than a combination of two items, like 3, 4 or maybe even a combination of more than one class for it to be effective.

So, if I’m understanding OP’s point, he’s saying that retalliation doesn’t reflect incoming damage, it procs damage? In other words, no matter how hard you hit someone, it only procs X amount of damage, which I’m assuming he’s saying is based on the target’s DPS.
If what OP is saying is true, then yes, that’s definitely broken. If it’s not what he’s saying, then I think he doesn’t understand how retaliation works. If it is working correctly, it should proc a percentage of damage based on the amount of the attack. So, if you do 3k damage, it shouldn’t matter how many times you hit the guy, the total percentage of damage would be the same whether it was 1 hit or 298374234 hits. The smaller hits should just retaliate less damage because the individual attacks are smaller.

How has nobody seen the inherent problem with his design? Eternity/Twilight/Sunrise are looking glasses into space/sunrise. Is that looking glass going to go away? How would it always be magically anchored in that fashion to show sky on one end and space on the other? It’s a great looking pic, but completely impracticable if we would want to keep the looking glass effect. It would essentially look just like Twilight /most/ of the time.
Genius idea. Someone give this guy his pick of 5 legendaries for coming up with it.
I discovered the power of weapon swapping simply because the combat mechanics without it are so incredibly boring.
A small critical avoidance bonus to high amounts of toughness would be nice. But, adding new combat mechanics like that usually leads to a path of never-ending class/gear imbalances.
TBH Instance ownership has nothing to do with the LFG system.

This could be the worst request for an OP class I’ve ever seen.
While pretty cool, there seems to be a random bug with multiple legendary effects sticking when swapping weapons. See attached for Rodgort + Moot + Eternity. It only applies to the body effects; footfalls remain whichever weapon you have equipped.
Worst idea ever.
Gotta have some pretty trusting friends to hand over the sum of 2000 gold so you can get an achievement.
The lack of an audible whisper notification is especially confusing to me. I looked everywhere for a setting, but after a while I just gave up assuming that there isn’t one.
I like eternity as is, but I’m not the biggest fan of the day/night switch because it means that 50% of the time my armor doesn’t match my weapon. I suppose if they created the ability to save dye configurations to make it easier to switch that would be cool. But, at the end of the day, it’s a tiny thing. I think in its latest condition Eternity is more than good enough.
I can tell you as a developer that this would be incredibly difficult, and while I agree would be really cool, ain’t gonna happen.
On a similar note, I would love it if they had an option for a mini-hero window though. Weapon swapping outside of your two swap weapons is an unnecessary pain in the kitten because the window occupies 80% of your screen.

Never had an issue completing PvE dailies and I’ve never once done PvP or WvW.
I’ve never had the problem of being kicked for no reason, but I agree that it is weird that it disappears. Same thing happens when you drop guild.
1 of 2 things will happen:
1) The giant slayer will be an incredibly difficult achievement to attain and something that few people will acquire, or/until:

Agree, it’s [you] the player, meeting the achievements – not the characters themselves. So [you] should have the given choice to use what [you] have spent so long to make/earn, on any character you feel you want. I’d too like to see this happen.
Except a legendary weapon isn’t an achievement. It’s an item. You have achievement points/titles/awards for achievements that are account-wide for your accomplishments as a player.
-1. This is essentially the equivalent of using a more powerful toon to gear an underplayed one, also known as “twinking”.
As for the comment about items from the store that can unbind an item, I’ve seen it in other MMOs, but usually at the price of about $50 per and they are usually only available for limited times / random promotional times.
Can’t speak to other classes, but as an 80 guardian the one thing I will confess to is that the use of a magical weapons is absurd. Staff, scepter and focus do not belong. Guardian weapons should be limited to
- Great Sword
- Hammer
- Sword
- Shield
- Mace
- Torch
That, sadly, does remove almost all (except one ability with the torch that has a moderate cool down) long-range combat for the guardian. Most tank classes (in other MMOs) can use a bow for long-ranged combat, but I’m in agreement with OP that long-range combat is the most obvious sacrifice for a Guardian.
It does also remove our only method for +speed which is with a staff, but again, you’re running around in heavy armor. Deal with it; I’m OK with it.
What I do not agree with is nerf to damage. How much damage you do can vary greatly depending on how you spec/gear. If you want to be somewhat of a meat shield as a Guard, you have just enough DPS to keep a decent amount of aggro.

So, I found a fix for this on my PC. I was having the issue with Logitech G700, Windows 7 64-bit. Not sure if relevant, but I run windowed with 2-3 monitors depending on if using quad-sli or not. Anyway, if some people try this and it works, a mod should stick this so other people don’t have to go through 10 pages.
For giggles, I tried running Guild Wars 2 as an administrator. Problem seems to be gone.
If you aren’t sure how to run as administrator, all you need to do is right-click your Guild Wars 2 icon and select “Run as Administrator”.
I hope it helps other people too

Problem just appeared for me. Logitech G700. For the Razer people, I did find this video, but couldn’t find a way that it was relevant for me
I posted this a few days ago, and yes, plus one. Even if it’s just Legendary Collector (to match the achievement), I can’t imagine adding a title to an achievement is that much work.
My argument is that in comparison to what it takes to get the “Golden” title, getting the Legendary Collector achievement is in another dimension of difficulty to acquire (even though both could be bought with cash and not a lot of in game work, you figure something like 10,000 gold for 5 legendaries vs 200 gold for “Golden”).
I’m for this. Coming from an MMO where my UI supported 100 abilities/actions/utilities/macros, not being able to at least change to a different skill while in combat is frustrating. If you walk into a dungeon unprepared it can be incredibly difficult to find the time to swap it when most groups chain-pull/train through content from start to finish.
I have eternity, and I think it’s amazing. Couldn’t ask for more! Great job devs!
I think you guys are overlooking the real reason combat run speed exists. It’s not to waste your time, it’s not to annoy you, and it’s not even to prevent you from training. It’s to make it challenging to leash mobs when you’ve decided you’re going to lose and would rather run away.
It’s in all MMOs, so “fight or flight” is a choice you have to make ahead of time.
Maybe you people don’t mind dying all the time. Maybe to you that is part of the fun.
If that is so, I think you are all stupid.
Dying sucks. I do not enjoy it.
