Wouldn’t it be better from a non-skipping, non-kicking standpoint to put a behind-the-scenes field on a character when you enter the dungeon and kill bosses – it would take a little bit of work, but shouldn’t be too terrible to code:

Field: “BossesKilled”
– on dungeon entrance and/or exit, field is set to 0
– Belka dies, code fires [BossesKilled +1] (total = 1)
– Abom dies, code fires [BossesKilled +1] (total =2)
– Lupi dies, code fires [BossesKilled +1] (total =3)
– etc.

Then, on the final boss of the dungeon, have a quick code check for BossesKilled > 0 for any party member. This way, if the soloer is kicked, the end boss cannot be triggered or killed, or have the instance start over at the beginning. I could foresee some crazy testing needing for this, but it could solve the problem of kicking a soloer, at least. There would be no incentive to steal an instance because it wouldn’t be possible any more.

I LOVE killing yellow mobs! They are almost always ignored so I’ll get triple XP from them. =)

In the pugs I’ve been building lately, I’ve started asking people to tell us a joke. The nice thing about this is that even if the joke isn’t funny, it tells you quite a bit about the person who joined.

I met someone last night that told a joke about 3 logicians and it made me laugh, but at least two of my guildies on TS went “what? I don’t get it.” =/

I thought I knew quite a bit about Arah, but everytime I go in there he teaches me something new.

If you need a body on Sunday, just let me know! I need more practice on the warrior or could bring the guardian as well.

From personal experience, both Scorpion Over Lord.9036 and IvanTheGrey.2941 are amazing teachers if you are on NA servers.

I’ve played with mesmer as my main since I started the game a year ago. I also have guardian, warrior, ele, thief and necro at 80.

I would like to think I’m a good mesmer; I know the tricks of the trade in PVE to make dungeons smoother, I can duo Lupi and I’m working on my solo kill for him – both on and off wall. I’ll admit, I don’t really PVP or WVW, so I’ll leave those discussions up to others.

In PVE, there have been so many times that I have been told that other classes are better than mesmer. In the speed running guild that I was recently in, my mentor flat out told me that anything a mesmer could do, another class could do better – a mesmer wasn’t truly needed for anything. Since that point, I’ve started playing guardian more often, and quite honestly, the difference in DPS is quite a bit. I also feel like I’m more support to the group I’m in, instead of just being another body. I think that the recent research done by DNT showing best DPS group compositions really shines a light on the problems that mesmers have as well.

I love my mesmer, and I would love to see the class be considered more viable as an option for PVE. But until the DPS isn’t reliant on a clone that pops as soon as a mob looks funny in the general vicinity of the clone, well… my guard/ele/warrior/thief end up getting played more for dungeons.

It sucks.

I don’t know why anet can’t flag every boss as a req for getting path completion? It wouldn’t fix all exploits (risen knight underwater LOL) but some.

That would be reeeeally great (sarcasm) for the person that comes in half-way through to help out a guildie, or gets pulled in mid-dungeon through LFG because someone had to go, got DC’d, etc.

I love my mesmer, I considered her my main for the longest time – she was my first to 80. But recently I play my guardian/ele/warrior/thief to be useful in speed dungeons – I do more damage and have more use on any of my other classes, which means more fun for me.

(BTW, looking for a good NA speed meta guild, please)

Sadly, the only time I bring out the mesmer is for fractals, the occasional Arah duo or chatting in LA.

QoL = quality of life

In other words, things that may not be specific “bugs” but they really should work. Arah P2 boss phase not working on clones is a great example. Takes forever to dps that boss down on mesmer.

Did you get the centaur runes working at all?

Could be all that coffee and my adrenaline pumping, so everything seems to much faster. Will test it out on lupi later tonight, since that’s how I evade all the dmg ticks during phase 3 XD

And yeah, had to relog and runes were back up working.

That’s exactly what I was worried about also for BF – I didn’t want to have to haul my butt all the way out of the ring for Lupi. I’m still working on soloing him and shorter BF would have thrown my timing right out the window. =/

And the centaur runes not working would have had me annoyed, that makes the arah trash skips a lot easier – would have managed without it, but I would have grumbled.

I think the horns could honestly be amazing, but they’re just… tiny and weirdly placed. Please fix it for Asurans, thanks!
