Firstly, I apologize for swearing at you, it was in the moment of heat and I was having actually a fun fight with that guy. It was also the 3rd 1v1 I had that was interrupted this morning, so you can understand my frustration.
But let’s be honest, I was winning that fight with ease. You are being completely over dramatic now. When you stepped in to poach my fight I even stepped out for you, and watched along with another player, because it’s common courtesy to do so.
Yes she certainly made for a fun fight! I quite enjoyed killing her; it was very gratifying.
I must poach more fights in future :-)

Now I’m a loyal Gladian but I just have to express my dismay at the ingratitude of some of my fellow compatriots with whom I share this beautiful land!
Here I was enjoying a lovely morning stroll through the Green battlelands, participating in the noble act of slaughtering enemy dolyaks in assistance of my realm, when I came across a ranger on the main path, in full view struggling with all his might (which admittedly wasn’t much) against a superior foe, an Elementalist wielding a scepter and dagger!
He was evidently unable to kill her, so being the munificent mesmer I am, I decided to assist and smote my wrath on this magical turtle. While pounding her face in the ground, I receive abuse! For saving his life!
Needless to say I’d never been so shocked before.

Don’t forget you can turn your block into a ranged daze for those extra interrupts !

Sword offhand was really nice when it had the shortest cd on phantasms – Illusionary Swordsman was an 8 second cd if I remember.
It’s still not /that/ bad, the block can trigger for huge damage. I used to run with it occasionally and it was great blocking a backstab and doing 3.5k damage at the same time.

Before calling to nerf it – bear in mind it’s very easy to avoid the damage thus negating potency of the skill – you easily have enough time to see it pop up behind you and dodge roll the damage.
But with that said, if you’re in a downed state vs a downed mesmer, you’re pretty screwed to be honest.

Fantastic idea. Love the skill suggestions, sounds like a lot of graceful fun, espec the clone skill #3.

LOL, wonderful.
I like having duels in WvW, but if someone steps in as dismayed as I might be, it’s fair game. WvW is a warzone, every target is a viable target.

A Flesh Golem is a pet, a Phantasm is an attack; it’s a single target living DoT. They don’t and shouldn’t behave the same way.
Honestly, is it because the class is pink that it attracts so many melodramatic people?
Mesmers are still top of the pile as a class, and if you disagree it’s because frankly, you weren’t a very good Mesmer to begin with.

Some nice Fights so far.
Lowlands is always good for small Groups, 3 Way Fights that can turn in an instant and mostly pure fun, well up to the point when a big Zerg kills you but thats fine ^^
Also thx for some nice Fights at a The Noble Mesmer von TIME, was really a fun time up to the End when the Jadesee Zerg jumped from the Bridge on our Heads
Jathres BNF Char Ele
It’s you! I am The Noble Mesmer ( I cleanse the Isle of Death in the Borderlands of Thief-scum) ! Yes, those were some great fights. It was so funny before I first encountered you on the isle I met a hunter running the opposite way warning me not to go to the isle because of “a crazy Charr Ele killing everyone”. :P

Scepters clones have a niche if you are specced for debuffs on clone-death, such as snare (10 dom), confusion (25 duelling) and weakness/bleed/vuln (10 chaos) since they spawn in melee range with your foe. They’re still the worst clones though.

I think Rangers having some ability to see through stealth is a wonderful idea, and I say this as a Mesmer who slots three invisibility utilities.

Scepter is great as a temporary switch weapon, stick on some confusions after using your offhand skills, but I really can not understand how anyone can use it as a main weapon.

I had no problem with Blind and Dodge preventing Phantasms spawning, but this delay is ridiculous; My Phants are getting killed before they’ve even done anything.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Mesmers are being treated the same as the other classes. Phantasms are not AoE abilities, they are single target skills of which two will do AoE damage as a bonus. If a player dodges/blocks/blinds your attack, it is completely unreasonable that a phantasm would spawn to continue attacking the player unless they kill it. They prevented the attack, why should they still have to deal with consequences as if the attack landed? When I dodge a skill from another class, I don’t expect to just avoid the first part of the damage, I expect to avoid the entire attack (and I do), so should it be with Mesmers.

I don’t understand all the complaints about the 15th nov patch; I’ve barely noticed the difference. Besides, the whole point of dodge, block and blind is to prevent your foe’s attack, if phantasms spawn regardless to attack only a few seconds later, what was the point of their dodge/block/blind?
The big issue with mesmers is not our attacks being prevented when they are prevented, it’s the ease of telling clones apart from their masters. Sigils, Food, Unremovable buffs (like Outnumbered), Full-health-on-spawn, Gold Star and being Target Marked renders clones completely useless.

I’d prefer it if Mantras charged themselves automatically when you are out of combat. No need to charge them yourself which is not fun. Has the disadvantage that once combat starts, you can only use them twice (or thrice if specced) and that’s that till you drop combat which I think is a fair tradeoff.

Please give us an option to disable right-click targeting. It is incredibly irritating thing losing your target because you want to look/move around !
