To do a shatter that strong, you need to be point blank range with your target for mirror blade, then use that skill without it being mitigated, then shatter. Not the height of difficulty, but not exactly easy either.
Well no let’s be honest, it is incredibly easy, especially when you have a torch equipped.

I hate myself and so have no issue banishing myself a billion times to the Void.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Yeah if you shatter your clones smash like mirrors regardless of trait.
If you have an on death trait they explode on death, target death or replacement.
If you don’t have such a trait, they simply dissipate by turning into butterflies on the above.

As an addendum OP, you salvaged 145 ectos for 279 dust.
As amusing as this is (and it is indeed greatly amusing!), I don’t think it’s good business practice to embarass your customers !

I could recommend your post a thousand times Kelthien. You need to be on the Dev team.

I atleast expected the clone offhands to be fixed.

I like to have my extended range duellists spread around, if the D/D ele is daft enough to stay on you instead of killing the duellists, by the time the third duellist pops, he is toast, boons or not.
Easiest way if of course to be shatter specced with boon strip on shatter. That just rips them to pieces.

I miss my ele’s little stretch. It was so cute! :’(

If you heal with Mender’s Purity to cure poison, the poison still reduces the heal before it is removed, was this always the case?
Bit lame to not do the cure first before applying the heal.

Signet of Illusions (90s CD)
Passive: Grants more health to your illusions.
Active: Recharge your shatter skills. This is where it gets messy. The passive seems right for this Signet, but it completely contradicts the active.
I’ve seen this argument a lot, but the signet does assist shattering for long-range clones; they’re more likely to survive AE as they run into to their target. But with that said, it’s still crummy as clones run so slowly. Perhaps if it also made your clones run at Selo speed it might be more useful for shattering.

I had this last week when I tried to purchase gems…try again later, so I tried again, and again, and a forth time. Then suddenly 3 hours later, I had 4 purchases worth of gems.
Petitioned and they reimbursed me, but be cautious !

Bump.
I wish a dev would read something like this for the next class balancing; we have so many useless traits that really need something else added to them to give more trait choices and some of these are great (and balanced) suggestions.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
I don’t think thieves are particularly powerful, I just thinking they’re $!%^&ing annoying.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
The reason for the hate is that they do not fit into the class system. Everyone is bound by cooldowns so they must select appropriate times to use an ability or waste the skill; thieves have no such limitation (initiative simply is not a good enough limiting system); they can repetitively use the same skill best suited to the moment.
Teleport In, Teleport Out, Teleport In, Teleport Out, Teleport In, Teleport Out.
Boon steal, Boon steal, Boon steal.
Target drop Stealth, Blinded, Target drop Stealth, Blinded, Target drop Stealth.
Evade, Evade, Evade.
No other class can use the same ability several times in a row to suit the suitation like thieves. That’s why they’ll never be balanced.

I miss being an Enchanter in EverQuest. :-(

This happened to me a few days ago – fighting at the end boss then suddenly I see a loading screen and no party. Fortunately, my revenge was more than swift, because I was the leader of the party.
It’s easy to identify these types when you join a group – so either zone in first for insurance, or find another group. I always specify that I am only looking for friendly people for my group.

Was on my alt earlier in Fireheart Rise and almost the entire right hand screen was taken by this clutter. Option to hide permanently please.

I’d like to add possible CD bug between blink, decoy and Portal entre.
How to reproduce
Blink somewhere to get CD on blink, change either portal to decoy, or decoy to portal.
Is this a bug or working as intended?
The bug is with blink for sure – it also puts Mirror Images and Arcane Thievery on cooldown if you switch another utility for those.

•Ether clone’s tooltip states that it applies confusion. It does not.
It does not. The tooltip was fixed last patch, just claims to cast Ether Bolt now.
•Illusionary Riposte does not have its cooldown lowered by the trait Blade Training
Yes it does. 15 seconds no trait, 12 seconds with trait. Fixed 2 patches ago.
•The skill Phantasmal Mage seems to do nothing. This must have been a mistake
As amusing as this is, can we have a serious bug thread please for the devs to read – Phantasmal Mage does exactly what it is supposed to (even if it is a bit crummy).

Comparatively with the addition of torment you block a direct attack and you apply an immediate counter offensive. Your description of “High dmg” is build specific toward power along with my description of an immediate counter offensive with the right build catered to condition dmg.
If you’re fighting someone skilled in PvP the Scepter#2 is only good for preventing the damage of an attack; the actual riposte and Torment will be dodged by a decent player as there is a 0.5s~ window after hitting the block before the counterskill actually does anything.
You can get the block off easily against anyone with precision timing, but you’ll only ever get the counterattack damage on poor players, but as a Mesmer you’ll have no problem obliterating poor players using any weapon set anyway.

The cooldown has really stinted the flow of combat with the Focus. I can understand letting the enemy see the curtain before it can be collapsed but the 1second cd is a bit too long; half a second cd would improve the flow and still let people be able to dodge. Right now Curtain is just sluggish.

This trait is a joke because conditions applied are pure crap. If it had something like apply burning for 3sec/poison 3sec/1stack of confusion 3sec/3stacks of bleeding 3sec then it would be worth taking
AoE weakness no longer is crap, it’s actually pretty good, but yeah the other two suck a bit (though it amuses me when someone comes and AE mindlessly and receives an extra 9 stacks of bleeds…)
Re the explosion, I like the idea of exploding glass shards instead.

This build just became quite insane for group damage support.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
I knew they’d do something about Phantasm builds – now they have. 20% longer CDs
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Though these patch notes are probably false.
Er since they are quite detailed and note lots of things the devs were talking about previously, the notes look reasonably probable.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
OPs suggestion seems reasonable enough. Wouldn’t affect me either since I target before attacking – I don’t spamclick a phantasm skill with autotarget on.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Just wanted to say I’m loving this build at the moment. The DPS is insane!
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
The happens to me all the time. I prefer it this way. Isn’t it better for us that our phantasms look like regular clones? I hope it remains this way.
In the case of Low WVW setting its client side – it only affects what you see. Other people will still see the purple mist of the phantasm that you see as a clone.
In the case of Stealthing Phantasms, everyone will see them as clones after the stealth.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Oh, I should point out it also happens if your phantasm gets stealth, once it breaks invis with its attack, it looks like you not a phant. But thats a seperate issue to the WVW one.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Yeah it’s annoying – as said it’s due to having your WVW Character limit/quality on low. To fix it, you’ve got to turn them up and have FPS lag instead…
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Mage Strike is the name of the Illusionary Warlock’s attack (Mesmer Staff #3).
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Since when does the combat log show phantasm damage?
Since Always.
If you get hit by a iZerker it’s called Imagined Burden.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
It does tend to miss some swings on stationary targets, but so do all moving whirl attacks. On moving targets it usually hits all swings, but the floaters don’t show (but the moving hp bar does). Did quite a bit of testing in WvW with an enemy and for example I’d see a damage floater of 2000, he’d have about 6000 damage in his combat log for the same attack.

Do other classes have as many poor traits as mesmers? Half our traits are complete garbage. So predictable fighting other mesmers since they’re all specced roughly the same.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Whoever gets Stonemist Castle first; just let them have it. Seriously. Please. Just let them have it. Anytime there’s a big fight in Stonemist the entire EB suffers from intolerable skill lag. So I urge you, just let them have it. Just let them have it.

Don’t understand the Torch hate; the Torch is absolutely wonderful in a Shatter build.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
However I do feel awkward upon arrival. Your thoughts?
You’re far too bleeding heart. You say “Move it chump, its my shift now” and get portalling.

Casting KEI at the small bank for donations. Open trade window for invite.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
Ive no problem with thief damage, I just hate the fact that they can just run away easily if things aren’t going their way, and now it’s even easier since they can just steal your swiftness with a sword3.
Oh and smokefield+heartseeker backstab spamming thieves are so incredibly lame. You really are.

I play a Mesmer and I don’t ever see any personal Mesmer hate (just general dislike toward the class on the whole), yet I see abuse towards thieves all the times. People laughing at corpses, insulting them in /say (even if you can’t see it) etc. I’m responsible for it too, when roaming me and my mate refer to you as scum and seek to destroy you with a zealous fervour the like of which you’ll never see.
If we see an enemyA thief toying with an enemyB group, we’ll go and assist enemyB in smoting the thief; only when his corpse bloodies the battlefield will we engage enemyB.

I don’t have any +ConditionDamage yet my Confusion does huge amounts of damage. That’s clearly not right. Blanket reducing it to 50% damage would punish those who do spec +CD too much though, imo the scaling/+CD contribution needs to be changed, so that the damage is very punishing for those who have high +CD and negligible for those like me who have 0 +CD.

Try The Tainted on Piken Square. Bring your zerg and just try.
Every skill you use will get you more conditions because of chaosarmor (permanently) on everybody and the pink bubble will stack in dozens upon you.
Lol Dreddz be loving those ethereal fields! You should have seen him in Warhammer with his auras; The man is simply a menace !

I’ve always considered Asurans having a disadvantage. Who didn’t team up to annihilate the guy playing Oddjob in Goldeneye?
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
fought her recently in ebgs. CDvsSOSvsSBI right? Was talking with some people on CD side, the consensus is that somehow she’s stealthing for extended periods, above and beyond the cd of decoy, and blinking far too often.
She had about 10 of us CD folk chasing her around for a good ten minutes.
Some people on the map have already reported her for exploiting or hacking, but without name plates we can only guess the identity.
If she’s traited into Chaos then her Phase Retreat is only 5 second CD and she may also have the +1 duration on stealth GM trait. Does she run with a Torch? Traited CD on Prestige stealth is only 20 seconds from when appears.
From that video I don’t see anything at all that would suggest she was hacking at all.
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
That’s when we lead you into a zerg and waypoint out before we get in combat.
I’m a Torch using Mesmer, I run into zergs and escape unscathed all the time :-)
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
I’ve never experienced this, but it would amuse me greatly; I would continue to follow them as best I could. It’s like when I run into the other WVW scourge “duelling”; if someone tells me I’m interferring it only makes me kill the enemy with even more fervour and it is oh so satisfying. :-)
- A crummy Mesmer on Piken Square
I know you devs love correcting these little errors so here you go:
The Nightmare Harpoon, Speargun and Trident do not have unique Twilight Arbor icons like the other weapons.
The Nightmare Trident doesn’t appear to be a trident “three teeth”, its just the staff appearance duplicated. I’m not sure if this is deliberate (ie there is no trident appearance for that set) or if its linked up to the wrong file on the database.

Either reduce the limit of stacks from 25 to about 8~ or prevent it triggers on traited dodge-rolls, heals and utilities. It should only do damage if your opponent tries to do damage, hence “confused and hits themselves”.
