Im loving this match-up thus far, we’ve been kinda fighting DH for a few week’s now so we know them pretty well, and SF has been a fresh face. The thing i appreciate is the amount of cheesey crap has been cut down considerably (atleast when i play that is, im unaware of what happens when im gone lol). Last night was a great example, IOJ was on SF’s BL, we had DH behind us at the lake tower pushing us thru the tunnel, and it seemed like if we wiped them, SF was right there crossing the bridge from hill’s! Was great to see that level of coordination and fighting going on in the open field. We had to fall back into water on a few occasion’s, and had to fall back into the tower on quite a few other occasion’s, but kitten if it was’nt fun as hell! Im sure IOJ will get bounced at some point, just due to the number’s game, but im having the time of my life right now! There was no time for break’s or deep breath’s it was constant fighting last night in SF BL. Ended up with 189 badge’s and it was intense! Good fight’s to all, can’t wait to get off work and get my Asura back on the battlefield.

Awesome fight’s tonigh to both DH and SF, [HARD] was in the SF BL and man it was just nothing but fighting from hills, to lake, to tower, and rinse and repeat. Was a great night, and we got alot of action!

To all the SF that were just at LAKE in your BL, what a epic fight! Dont know how many of you guys it was, but we thought our 2 man group was as good as dead lol. Guild claimer threw us a bone!

Lol we were in the SF bay last night. when the battleboat got broke out! Was a fun fight, we were saying on vent watch out for Mesmer’s and then bam next thing i knew SF was there and they were mobbin us. Good fights in your BL last night, SF.

10/30/0/15/15 – Is quite fun with a s/d setup.

Sorry, but I find 10/30/0/20/10 to be much better. Why take 3 starting initiative over 2 initiative gain per 10s? A quick fight you’re not likely to eat all your initiative anyways, and a long fight the initiative gain wins hands down.

@Travlane – I’m trying to understand your build option. The 5/0/30/30/5 – P/D doesn’t apply to this topic, so I’ll ignore that. The 10/20/20/20/0 is… what do you consider giving up 100 precision, 10% crit damage, first strikes and executioner for? That’s a major chunk of damage. While I agree the utility is nice, just not worth the DPS loss. I’d lean towards 10/30/15/15/0. If initiative is more important than the seconds of stealth, then 10/30/10/20/0. And if you want to heavily rely on the stealth, to just full blow it to 10/30/30/0/0 as that is better than 10/30/20/10/0. But I will argue dipping below 30 Critical Strikes unless your going condition even if it is to gain initiative – there are plenty of number crunches proving that 30 in Critical Strikes is better than initiative gain. You can already run heavily with “CnD > stealth attack > auto attack chain” with 30 in SA or Acrobatics.

I also don’t understand what you mean about “screwed on second weaponset”. Thieves have crap weapon traits, so all weapons fit the traits the same and it affects their DPS the same. Do you go off hand D/D for a burst? Do you go D/P for yet another mobility move and infinite stealth? Do you go SB for the AoE/mobility? S/P so you can have an interrupt/stun weapon group and a stealth/cripple/evade group for your sword? The only real options I don’t see as meshing with S/D is P/P — P/P has less DPS, no mobility, and less utility than S/P or D/P. And P/D as you’re usually not building for conditions with a Sword build.

Hey Tuluum,

Not sure what you can really do without a commanders tag and TS/Ventrilo. Your playerbase has to seriously want something more to improve. Right now the mindless uncoordinated zerging is working, and there is no need to stretch. If you can simply throw more and more bodies at the enemy, and run back from spawn after you die for another try, why should you ever need advanced tactics?

You are in luck with respect to DR, which will fight DH (unlike IoJ). We have several commanders who have worked tactics to defeat superior numbers with mindless zerging. Our central problem though is we are stretched for coverage and can not be everywhere at once. If we can defeat superior numbers of you guys often enough so the average zergling starts wanting a different outcome, that may be the spark that encourages better WvW on DH.

It is only when those mindless zerging tactics fail that you will find people open to the idea of doing complex strategies. You then can work to build up coordinated WvW guilds.

The answer to your problem is probably something you wont like. You guys need to go up a tier and get the snot beaten out of you by better organized, equal sized servers. Or you will have to fight and push IoJ out of this bracket so someone else will come up that will give you a fight rather than a wave, and stretch your people with a (2+3) v. (1) fight. At that point your tactics will have to change, and your player base will be in a receptive state of learning.

You can see this sort of thing on the PvE side. You run an instance. You have a brilliant idea on how to EZmode the next boss. Nobody listens and bulls ahead with brute dumb tactics. Only when you wipe are they in a receptive state of learning. Failure is the motivator for better play.

Are u guy’s seriously this mindless? IOJ does’nt fight DH? lmao just give it up for the love of god. I can verify all day with screenshot’s, i’ve followed Counter Barrier into larger DR AND DH zerg’s then us and wiped em, and we’ve been wiped as well. Maybe your talking about a different population that for some odd reason we don’t communicate with(highly unlikely), but we fight DR/DH equally.. We ourselve’s work tactics for larger zerg’s as well, WELCOME TO THE CLUB (were outnumbered a majority of the time!). Cut the whiney bullkitten, it’s so freaking old, go PLAY THE GAME (and by play the game i mean actually take action, not jump off wall’s of keeps your defending to get away, when u outnumber that little s/d asura thief 3v1 lmao DDLG).

TL:DR – DH has MORE players/coverage, IOJ fight’s both servers, stop whining.. Such is life, it’s not fair deal with it.

Doesn’t really matter who double teams who to be honest.

Neither DR, IoJ or DH will be in this tier forever, and the only server that will be in a better place because of it is DR.

In T5 against Ehmry Bay DH will get absolutely smashed, and without a dominant server that DR has to deal with during prime time we can easily kick IoJ’s kitten in T7.

You lose some you win some. But when ratings finally settle soon I expect DR to win more than we lose. Especially against a weak IoJ prime time.

You didn’t “let” us have SM. We went in there and took it from you right as IoJ were about to cap it.

When SM was fully upgraded i even said to the server “The goal here is to get it flipped, not take it” And we achieved that, the second time (just before) We were focused in DH’s corner trying to get their keep hoping you would hit SM and not us for a change!

Lol thankyou! [HARD] was able to rally quite a bit of ppl, along with our WvW regulars! I think the 5 golem siege on Garrison was fun as hell lol, but hey i like driving golems! It was nice to get some open field against similar(we were bigged then a few, but 1 or 2 matched us) size groups. Counter Barrier lead quite the successful assault tonight and it was good to have everyone tagging along! Good fights to all!

Two people posted pictures of really great fights that we had (and were loads of fun) and you write paragraphs about how “mad” they are. Ha, I always thought HARD was the most respectful and friendly guild, now I understand it’s just kids yelling, “l0l0l0l0l umadbro?!” when they get angry.

Great fights to the rest of IoJ last night. You know, the ones that were actually on the battlefield and not boasting on the forums. Wish I had screenshots, it was a very intense battle for the garrison, but eventually we were overwhelmed. Keep up the good works and congrats for placing second!

Agreed great fights, but i can assure u [HARD] was’nt forum browsing, if it was not for them im not sure IOJ would of had anything more then a few camps, it was pretty bad.. And i was running with one of there commanders in a group. But we did have a good time last night, hope to see you all again tonight! Im the asura in red/black that /waves ,/dances, /beckons, etc before hopping around in-front of the official [OiNK] squad usually in our or DR BL’s lmao. Sure i die, but i find it fun to watch your guys movement’s. I can almost hear u guys in TS like “why is he just hopping around, all those IOJ guys ran away what is he doing? OK just kill him” lol.

EDIT: It also seems that whenever i run into you guy’s ive just blew all my mobility cd’s to narrowly escape a zerg, so i just kinda shrug like “eh 5’s better then 25”. GG’s tho, i tend to scout you guys outto get a feel for how our little 3 man squad should move map wise etc.

Had a fun time last night with DH/DR, Im upset that my golem reached it’s death taking the tower =(, but it did provide an EPIC last stand and we got flanked while at the champion lol. I plugged the golem infront of our guys and into the enemies patch on the little ramp up and it was EPIC!!!!

DR never has the numbers to take anything from IoJ in EB, save for your T1 towers, and during our horrible off-hours if IoJ doesn’t take out stuff then the other server will anyway.

I guess you missed the part where our entire BL turned blue in roughly 20-30 minutes while DH did everything but steal overlook in EB. Defending, defending, defending…wait our map is gone?

Yah it does demoralize when your pushing a BL, and you just watch your homeland get engulfed in blue/green colors =( It seems if were not defending our homeland whichever army were mounting against in the current BL, the opposite army see’s this and pounces on our vulnerable map. Only thing to do is keep fighting and try to protect the homeland!

That’s what our (IoJ) forums are for. We advertise it, and some people come…but not as many as we need. Especially the major WvW guilds. There may only be a few of us, but we coordinate a lot more than most people realize. How else could so few of us be so effective? lol

And there’s always the IoJ WvW TS channels. :P

Also, thanks for that video Eric. I came in right as the gate went down again, and Counter was asking for bodies (HARD member/Commander here). It was a shock to see that I’d be having badges instead of eggs for breakfast. Was a good hold while it lasted.

Are the IOJ forums on this site or another place? Also, im currently in the AFK channel for the IOJ TS, so maybe ill stop up in your guys channel and say whats up this weekend! I never wanted to jump in anything but MoW/AFK so as not to disturb anyone doing anything important lol. Sorry for the all the questions, im relatively new to the WvW scene here lol.

Its all balanced out lol, i get to 2 shot some ppl, and i also get to get smashed by 30 people it’s all fun. There is nothing better then busting out a CnD +HiS then dropping a dagger storm in the middle of a zerg lol. I full well know about 50% of the time im gonna die, but the utter shock of the zerg makes it worth it everytime! im at about a 50% success rate with shadowstepping out, then swapping to mah shortbow to infil. shot my way out of there lmao.

Also, to follow up, the reason many of us are so offended by this pervading sense of “DH zerging” (which is entirely justified as a “fun” way to play the game and—according to everyone’s rules of “fun” WvW play—should therefore be off limits to the “fun vs. not fun” criticism) is because we put in so many hours trying and trying to work (as a server with what few people we’ve had on for so long) to establish our remaining core skilled vet players. Then to have that turned around of our faces when we get a large crop of new recruits and called “zerglings” when we haven’t been for so long/if ever until now…

After all. We lost in our first round against GoM/HoD. We had a skeleton of a WvW server and it took us weeks and months to get this kind of coverage. How dare people use it against us.

I have no problem with zerging, if anything i think it helps rally IOJ lol. That said im also a moron Thief who has been known to charge zerg’s solo lol…

I just wish (personally) we could get IOJ guilds all on the same page for WvW coverage etc etc. Im in [MoW] and while i know we don’t have the numbers, we have quite a rabid WvW section who loves it (myself included). It just seems that for some reason not all of “upper management” get’s along i guess, im not really sure. That said from my own WvW exp., if im rolling solo or with 1 or 2 MoW, i will follow any 1 of the awesome commander’s/Guilds we have [NomNomNomNom,UnS,RiSE,IRON,Cad etc. etc.]. Also i have said a few times this week, but i would like to thank everyone who has helped with the keep we claimed in EB, defending, re-taking, upgrading etc. I like the sense of community were building on IOJ, just need to keep it up!

Funny thing is this matchup will be continued for a while ( according to MOS. ) It’s going to be a long while before a T7 server can match any of us 3 servers, or a T5 loses enough points to drop. Howerver, the forums seem to have more equal action 24/7 than EB.

Side note : Nasty rumor going around that someone killed me in a 1 v 50. This is a blatant lie as I have never died, even from falling damage. The person whom you did kill was my sisters uncles cousins next door neighbors little dog, who has the exact same skins on his engi that I do. Hope that clears it all up.

these posts always get funny. all 3 of our servers have people in a wide spectrum of skill levels. people porting golems under cannons and oil, arrow carts in front of doors instead of rams..it happens everywhere.

On the other end of the deal there are the team maneuvers that make you want to do the toyota jump out of your chair, and keep takes that could go down in history..

All i see here is alot of finger pointing about people being sucky and so on. Every dedicated Dub V Dubber has crapped the bed once or twice on the battle field, so lets try to be a lil nicer! a mutual respect for your enemy makes for great battles, so lets learn from mistakes and keep on rockin!

Wow there’s quite alot of friction goin on here! I will say as a IOJ player, who is often outnumbered, ive seen good fighters from both DH, and DR, and as per usual i have also seen bad one’s from both sides. But you can’t expect that every person you run into is going to be the next coming of Leonidas lol… I tend to stick to small unit fighting unless something big is going on and MoW is called to help out for a bigger goal. That said, in my experience (which albeit is limited, i was about to quit this game out of boredom after lvling to 80 in a 7 man guild where i was the only one playing lol, until i joined MoW), the DH guys i run into with small group’s are almost ALWAYS a solid thread of my pants type of fight. Not to say i have’nt run into the same with DR(i specifically recall a thief from OINK catching me off guard down by victors lodge this weekend and absolutely destroyin me lol), just that in my experience, this is how it has been. That said, were all here to do the same thing, we enjoy this game and it’s WvW, so maybe we should all take a step back and remember were in this for the FUN! Anyways, just my 2 cent’s can’t wait to run into to you guys when i get off work! Best of luck to all

I saw an unusual amount of that this weekend lmao! Well played all though, was one of the best weekends of WvW i’ve had on this game.

Nice push into the keep on EB tonight DH, all i heard was my guild leader yell in TS, there about to take our keep lmao. I got there and it did’nt look promising, but we were able to barely get you guys out! MoW has the keep flagged, so we really did’nt wanna lose it lol. Thanks to all who helped us defend it. DH was fighting us tooth and nail last night, was intense and fun (i went till 5am lol). We did manage to have a great fight with [Abys]? i beleive it was, me Mikey and another guildee were outnumbered, and fought for a while to get the win!
