It is not over zealous. Its not even about context. Its a derogatory term that represents negative racial connotations regardless of the color/race of the user. It is a word not accepted by our society regardless of its appearance in pop culture/music. It’s only true context is the years of insensitivity and hate within the world many choose to move past. If you are a person of any ethnicity you should be ashamed to use the word in your vocabulary. If you are black and you use the word it worse in my opinion.

I didn’t receive an email of chat logs or anything about it – I really don’t think I deserve a three-day ban for whatever incident I was reported for. I definitely did not attack a player based on their race. Saying the ‘N’ word does not mean I’m racist and I never said it in a offensive way towards another player?

Basically I think I got banned for saying the ‘N’ word in a non-offensive way, indirectly and someone thought they might like to report me. Do I really deserve a three-day ban?

If you said the N-word, then you were appropriately banned. I am sure there is more behind the scenario and while I do not care if you use the word in your personal life, if you used the word then that counts as a racial slur and it is a derogatory comment. No one knows if you are white/black, but that doesnt matter, its a derogatory term, same as using the R-word. You would never use these terms in a professional/public setting therefore you should not feel the need to use them in this game where you get to hide behind a PC anonymously.

I do not think the hacking is part of ANet. The security protocols on IP authentication alone should prevent your account from being hacked. You should reformat your PC and setup firewalls and WPA2 to prevent. As a member of the computer industry most people have the most ridiculous passwords. Make sure you insert at the very least one uppercase, special character and number in your password and make sure it is longer than 8 characters to prevent future hacking.

I’ll try it. I am not sure why that would be the problem, especially considering I had no problem Installing WoW and Elder Scrolls on my system at the same time. Thanks Legend.

I am running an Intel i7, GTX 660, SSD/HDD config. I am on a Fiber 35/35 line. I have disabled firewalls. Yet, this is the message I get when trying to INSTALL this game on my laptop?

I downloaded WoW to my laptop. I downloaded Steam and Elder Scrolls Skyrim with a number of mods and have had no issues. I ran Speedtest.net concurrently with the start of the Install when I was showing a 23ms Ping and 37/34 speed.

Anyone got any solutions or is this game totally Screwed? You cant even install the launcher, how does that product make it to market?

Ok so now I know its something wrong with the game client! I uninstalled the game completely from my SSD. I have a physical disk. When I tried to reinstall automatically it states “download failed! please check your internet connection and try again”

I am on a fiber optic connection, connected to Steam and WoW, running speedtest.net 35/35 results so I know nothing is wrong with my internet connection.

Why can I not find a server status menu? A place that shows the connectivity to the game client?

I can not connect to the game client. It keeps retrying, but keeps reporting connection error(s) detected. There is no code so that is of no help. My firewalls are off. My internet speed is 35/35 on Fiber and I can connect to WoW no problem. I was playing at 2am with no problem as well.

are the servers down? I was playing fine last night til about 2am and now when i try to connect it will not connect to the client. I am running a fiber 35/35 and disabled firewalls to no success.
