i’ve run into this issue as well, very annoying. made me quit the EB JP for now :/

We’re looking into this now. Thank you for the reports!

Can you make us jump like Super Mario?

only if you craft an acorn power-up in the mystic forge.
the recipe involves 250 ectos, 10 mystic forge stones, 250 pinenuts and 50 nutmeg seeds. it’s the only food consumable (nourishment buff for 30 minutes) that needs to be crafted in the mystic forge and doesn’t require the cooking discipline.

just kidding :P

BTW, we didnt mean to make jumping a grind! haha!

Horrible, its delayed as heck and I notice that if i double tap where I would normally get a roll, it sometimes boost my movement speed for a short burst.

As much as I’d love to see this in opposite of the Thief = Dagger stereotype. Generally, thieves don’t wield heavy two handed weapons because they’d be an hindrance to their mobility.

I actually like the idea of this and the Katana, if mobility was a concern why did they give the Mesmer a light armorer mage-like character the ability to use Greatswords…

Here are some point to consider;

Was Anets design philosophy to show you have mastered PvP or JPs, because you can get BoHs doing both? JPs are in both the PvP environment and the PvE environment. PvP has to happen in a special locale outside of the game world.

Was Anets design philosophy about grinding, because that is contrary to their statements, despite the hunt for most legendaries being about the grind. Something they have stated they want to address for dungeons as well.

PvP should be for PvP. PvE should be for PvE. No one pays a subscription fee so we cant complain pass utilizing the game for it story content, but it is ok to discuss. This is how change is brought about, depends on where the community stands.

Is there a JP that gives badges outside of WvW? I honestly think Anet just wanted them to take part in WvW. Making the max number of chars and running just the JP on each one works but I bet is not what they were hoping for. I doubt they care about it and either do I but this behavior seems to be what causes the most complaints when they could just spend some time playing WvW instead. The same way I’d have to max crafting and do world complete if I wanted to get one.

Here is the problem, or only difference. The larger portion of the game relies upon PvE content. PvP is an aside option, otherwise it would have been integrated into the game world. If they wanted participation in WvW they should have created a more balanced approach. I found a workaround which was logging on durring dead time.

Here is how unbalanced WvW is though. My server currently hold NO KEEPS! Not a Single Keep. At best we have held one Keep and from observation it fluctuates, but the server I am on can be said to be strictly PvE, not many players care to be engaged in WvW content.

WvW is in my opinion highly unbalanced and lacks any true integration to gameplay. Other than PvP and entering the world for access to map completion and Jumping puzzles WvW affects nothing. You are beating another server great and if you like pushing that its great, nothing wrong with that. If they designed it to force players to join other severs where it the larger community plays WvW that hardly seems balancing or innovative.

Playing DCUO they registered items and endgame content for both sides of the spectrum PVP gear and PVE gear. I know this is guild wars and not DCUO, but observation is a poor implementation/balancing of PVP. I love the concept however of SPVP and look forward to that content at a later date.

So going back to my point from before. One server in this three way war WvW is dominating so greatly that it would be easiest for me to join their server and do the jumping puzzles freely, this doesn’t add to any aspect of PVE or PVP.

The JP should be removed. Sure, you can get siege from it, but how many carebears go in there and never appear in WvW again? I farm and buy my own siege. Most people I know do that.

In times of the Queue it is annoying to see people asking for mesmers in the jp. It handicaps the people actually WvWing if there are lots of people in the jp.

The JP is part of WvW, maybe they should add a capture point at the chest location that ticks the magical pointless point total up to make you guys happy?

It’s a place to find a different kind of PvP. Yea there are carebears there desperately trying to avoid PvP and they are the most fun to kill. On average though, the people that go there for PvP are at a much higher skill level than any other area of WvW. It’s fun, small scale, there is no retreat and there is a small reward at the end if you choose to go for it.

The idea that your side is loosing because 15 people are at the JP is just an excuse just like culling or stacking or Mesmer portals. Every side has to deal with it.

They should just introduce an openworld pvp-enabled map with jumping puzzles. There is certainly enough space on the map for it. But throwing PVE-related fodder into organized mass pvp is silly.

Anet wants you to participate in WvW to earn your legendary. The idea is you have “mastered” every aspect of the game. I will never get a legendary. Why? Mainly due to map completion and crafting. My highest crafting skill is 75. I don’t care how easy it is, I hate crafting. I will never do 100% map complete. I hate that too. I don’t complain about it because I understand it’s part of their design I just accept it and do what I like which is WvW. If I do decide to go for a legendary at some point, I do it knowing I will have to participate in parts of the game I find distasteful. Same goes for all of us.

Anet also stated they wanted GW2 to be less about grinding like other MMOs which is why they were considering revamps to the dungeon token system, but i Guess you are in their development team and cant tell a mistake from a design flaw?

The puzzle is a source of badges, items and siege for whoever “holds” it just like any other WvW point. It just doesn’t have circle. There are people who dedicate lots of time to hold puzzles for their side and fight against those holding it for their enemies. This is a very fun part of WvW PvP. People need to stop thinking it’s their right to open the chest. If they can’t get to it that’s on them and their server.

People who yell at you for asking for help are just elitist ahats.

I have asked the opposing players for help getting to them. That has helped in some cases. Your last comment is the heart of the problem. If the WvW were balanced then there would be no issue, but I can not inspire a server to choose to be active participants in WvW PvP, this means that the players who want to play WvW congregate on one server or another that is dominant in WvW and it gains more players as those who are looking to engage in PvE content and obtaining mats for endgame skins join those servers as well creating a lopsided loop.

This weekend I will probably join the opposing server just to farm the mats needed adding to their player base. I will not even attack anyone on the opposing side if possible because I do not care to engage in WvW PvP. After I get the mats I will relog onto the server where my guildies are and continue my play.

With that said is this the type of play WvW was supposed to inspire? Seems ridiculous to me.

What do you mean by farming mats needed for endgame skins in WvW? Are you talking about badges to buy the item for Legendary weapons? What other mat is WvW only? Are you talking about taking advantage of the out-manned buff or something?

If you are talking about badges then going to WvW and farming each JP with sometimes multiple characters per day just to avoid any sort of PvP is sort of going against Anet’s design philosophy and that could be why you are having a problem.

It’s my understanding that in order to acquire a legendary they have designed it so you have to participate in almost everything the PvE side of the game has to offer. Exploration, dungeons, events, crafting and WvW. You get badges even by running with a zerg. The idea is to get the legendary you participate in WvW on some level, not just farm the JP but that’s what a lot of people seem to be doing. That method in my opinion is just sort of counter to what Anet had in mind and that’s why there are so many complaints.

how could that be against Anets design philosophy? If you allow me to create 20 characters and I decide to log in with each character to gain BoHs which are account bound by doing jumping puzzles instead of engaging in PVP then how is that against the design philosophy?

Was it in the design philosophy to allow the Thief to Perma-Stealth into one hit kills? To allow people to build siege weapons within the JPs to complete lockout opposing servers from accessing the JPs. By your estimation it was Anets design philosophy to force players to PvP if they wanted access to pretty skins.

My position is the exact reverse of yours. I’m an intense WvWer, got my 500 badges before I even reached level 80. For most of the part, being out-manned actually made obtaining badges even easier, and being in a low pop server was no deterrent at all. Now I’m hitting my head against the wall completing dungeons and trying to get map completion, which I just find completely boring. I’m being forced to waste time in low level areas which I have absolutely no interest in exploring.

However, the requirements for the legendary makes sense – this is a major end content reward, a long term goal you aspire to by mastering the entire game. It’s a simple skin, no one’s forcing you to get it and you won’t be worse off without it, but attaining it is a symbol of your awesomeness and it therefore has to reflect that in terms of its requirements.

I feel your pain. You enjoy the PvP. I do not disagree. You should not be forced to play my preferred PvE play style no more than I should be forced to yours. There should be distinct Legendary PvP and PvE gear. DCUO did this correctly in my opinion.

Lets stop acting as if this is anything more than grinding. There is nothing about the game play that makes these items so legendary in my actions. I already pointed out the easy workaround. Joining the dominant side server will easily make the JPs more accessible, and farming them past that point is simple enough once you know the JP well enough.

The point is should the placement inspire this sort of actions. Should I as a player who wants the Legendary Skin have to switch server to the dominant side server, because lets face it these are lopsided battles in most instances, in order to grind for mats?

Also regarding your mysterious loot bag, the system works differently to the PvE system. Any loot that drops automatically spawns at your CURRENT location in the form of bags, no matter where you are or how far away you are. It’s to simplify looting when you’re in the heat of battle, so you don’t have to run over corpses.

OPC…

I am not sure how I can check my KD stats, but I am almost 90% positive I never killed anyone. The weird part about this bag was it was on a part of the JP I never traversed. So this type of system assumes I killed someone and then randomly drops a loot bag somewhere along my path to pick up?

On another note, I love doing the JPs and vista’s. I spend a good amount of time looking for these, as I spent a good amount of time trying to do the Mad King JP. I am not arguing that these should be an element of the game. They are the most fun, especially when I can do my Assassin Creed like jump off them into a body of water. I just dislike that they are not part of the normal PvE gameplay Map and are placed within the unbalanced, disjointed WvW PvP environment.

I am not even against PvP. I have played on DCUO’s PVP servers with characters. I have even done PvP in other MMOs as old as Neverwinter Nights and before that.

Watch the answers…

All of these points are part of the game progress… Dungeons are part of the story mode, exploration of these dungeons are also part of the story mode. Notice if I want specific looking gear from a faction area I do the dungeons in those areas, or I explore the natural flow of the playable world present throughout the story of the game in order to achieve these things. Even in the case of Karma and crafting these come as natural accumulation of doing the world game play story or exploration.

If you told me the WvW elements were part of the normal world map and these JPs were within the world and PvP was going on within the normal course of the map, I would have no room for argument. But I am joining a distinct map out of play of the normal gameflow. Dungeons are situated within the normal map.

Thanks for the opinion though because I know there are people who do not care to play dungeons, I am not sure why as they are part of the story and in some cases linked to the dynamic events of the normal world play. The grinding can be irritating but I enjoy that aspect to some degree. I do not care for Mob PvP.

I wrote this on a post before.

IF I choose I can log onto the opposing server this weekend. I can then choose not to attack any of the players from my server. I can farm all the mats needed, along with controlled POIs/Vista’s. After doing so I can then join back with my server and continue about playing the game. Is this the play placing JPs in WvW is meant to inspire?

They are a distraction from the purpose of WvW

The purpose you made up?

It’d be like someone unilaterally deciding that “the purpose” of Orr is to farm Orichalcum nodes and the mobs are a distraction from that. You don’t get to pick and choose mechanics that suit your play style and then proclaim entire pieces of content out-of-place because they don’t mesh with your view of how things “should” work.

How does it work to have people building siege equipment within JPs and camping the location in order to prevent others from acquiring badges from a chest that people are farming to use for legendaries? It is my opinion, I think they should not be within the WvW environment. At this rate just to gain 100% map completion I will have to switch servers in order to gain access to POIs and waypoints, then hop my server is not full to get back on. Thats called an interruption in play, not choosing playstyle

JP’s should be removed from WvW. They are a distraction from the purpose of WvW, and forces players who do not wish to engage in PvP into the WvW environment because they are simply seeking endgame content, specifically the legendary item tree.

The jumping puzzles are the only alternative to obtaining the Badges of Honor needed in order to craft the Legendary weapons without having to engage in PvP play.

I enjoy PvP, have done so in other MMOs, but I am not interested in the Siege-PvP (Zerg) affair that I associate to WvW. When I do choose to engage in PvP, it will more than likely will be in the SPvP environment as that play style is more appealing along with Red v Blue.

I got 2 badges of honor because I found a loot bag someone didn’t get to pick up. Ridiculous reward system

If you got that loot bag, it means you contributed enough to that kill in order to get that loot bag. If you didn’t contribute anything to a kill, that loot bag will not show up, so it’s impossible for you to pick up someone else’s loot bag.

What server are you on anyways? I find it hard to believe you’re in a 1 vs 20 fight, even outside your spawn point. Even if that is the case, there are Legendary Defender NPCs that pretty much 1-shot people. If you lure people in by hitting him a few times, you should get a loot bag for that.

Another option is to avoid big fights all together. Like I said before, bring a few friends. Camp supply lines. Usually 1-2 players pass along. You can jump them and kill them quickly.

I understand your frustration, and I understand you hate WvW. I’m not disagreeing with you on anything. You can hate on WvW all you like. I’m slightly annoyed however, because from the things you are saying, it gives me the impression that you simply have not spent the effort/time into doing this task. Even Kaineng, the worst WvW server for a while, has won WvW matchups. I’m just trying to help you by giving you suggestions and methods which you can get these badges from.

Ursuan… I am on Gate of Madness. I am not saying there are not fun elements of WvW for people who enjoy that type of game play. I believe there are people who choose and enjoy the Siege-PvP aspects of WvW. I do not dislike PvP in its entirety. The way it is constructed in GW2, in my opinion is horrible, at least with respect to WvW. The SPvP sounds like a fun side game.

Here is my day yesterday; Starting around 10AM trying to do the EB jumping puzzle. I consistently ran into mobs of guilds within the jumping puzzle ranging from 5-10 players where the best effort mustered by finding members of my server amounted to 3-4 of us traversing the EB puzzle before running into a group of 10 waiting at the top of the spiral well to ambush us.

At one point I was ‘partied’ with members of the other server after pleading with them to stop PvPing in an effort to learn and experience the EB jumping puzzle. That didn’t last long however as I was attacked from behind by one of their server buddies and they could not revive me which took me back to the beginning where I was continually killed.

Thats when you suggested I use the stealth pools, which worked just fine to get me to parts the latter parts, however after failing and going back, the opposing team realized there were stealth players using the pool so they began using the protective bubble utilities to impede progress and then began camping the stealth pools.

The point of this all still being, that PvE is one play style, and PvP is another play style. Being subjected to one or the other in order to access end-game content is ridiculous in my opinion. ArenaNet can not use the argument that WvW is part of the PvE environment when everything about it removes the player from the PvE environment. From logging into the queue, to the PvP gear, to the need to retrain skills from PvE to PvP. Jumping Puzzles have nothing to do with PvP, these could be instituted anywhere in the world in hard to reach places. Instead its a land grab, control mechanism in WvW which is enticed by players to acquire unique end game skins?

I am thankful that Ascended gear is being introduced and hope that ArenaNet keeps the two play styles separate, or they can unaccount bind the Badges of Honor and make them for purchase on the TP. I am sure that would work better for their bottom-line on Gem purchases.

By the way Ursuan…I guarantee you I was nowhere near where this loot bag was in order to even fight and participate in that battle. It was an area of the EB puzzle I had never been before and the bag was discovered at that point.

Ursan….

1. killing players when you are 1 against 20 is not easy. Worst still is the system of these loot bag which are dropped which also must be collected. I got 2 badges of honor because I found a loot bag someone didn’t get to pick up. Ridiculous reward system.

2. Completing jumping puzzles would be nice and easy if not for the campers which were discussed earlier. When you have mobs of guilds camping nodes and jumping puzzles in order to attack players getting through those puzzles is made near impossible if you do not have players on your server actively participating in order to repel those forces.

3. I have no clue about this, nor the drop rate for killing supply camps or supervisors, let alone whether this is a viable option, from every indication in research other than trial and error this is hardly a thing a person can do alone.

I have done the EB stealth option, that worked great today, right up until the guilds in packs of 5-10 players began camping the stealth pools. It worked great for a time. I do not mind the jumping puzzles being challenging, but what does completing a jumping puzzle have to do with PvP, those could have been placed in the PvE environment,.

I think perhaps you forget the purpose of a forum board, it is to EXPRESS OPINION! You have one, I have one. We can agree or disagree about these points. DO NOT disrespect me as I have not disrespected you! I am not a keyboard cowboy, so lets not play that game with name calling. I have to be tortured by dungeons to get a Legendary. Seems pretty fair to me.

I would much rather have complicated Dungeons than be put through unbalanced, uninspired PvP setting like WvW. ArenaNet could scrap that and GW2 would still be a great game. There is nothing appealing about having players have to switch servers in order to be competitive in WvW. Where is the balance for servers which do not have active and large participation in WvW?

WvW legendary part isn’t that much of a trouble. Much more annoying part is to not be able to buy the obsidian shards for karma since the only vendor resides in the almost always bugged Temple of Balthazar.
So you’re stuck with lurking the forums for a server where it might work and try to server hop around every 7 days.

I just found out from two of my guildmembers that they will indeed be looking to transfer servers for the 7 days in order to get these obsidian shards. Despite protests I can’t stop them – they want to make their Legendary weapons. So now my guild loses them for a week for WvW. This item requirement seems so broken to me. It means there is an area population bias in order to obtain an item.

Between this and the ongoing issues with the lack of enforcement about skill-hacking, I am not buying another thing from BLT until I see some evidence of progress in at least both these areas.

Exactly so I leave my guild because our server does not participate in WvW? That is not balance! In order to be competitive in WvW I have to play the server jump? Besides, I am not getting Badge of Honor for actual PvP, these are for completing complicated dungeons. These could have been situated anywhere in the PvE environment and we would still be doing complicated jumping puzzles and earning badges of honor. Instead in order to force WvW on players which means a lot of uncommitted players they place them in WvW? If not for that I wonder how many players would actually be in WvW? I much rather the SPvP than WvW, WvW is garbage!

Karizee, you cant do the jumping puzzles when you are being bombarded by griefers specifically camping the place…

Mulch, playing WvW doesn’t make you legendary, you are either o a server populated with player who enjoy PvP or you are not and depending on that you will be either on the side of the zerg or not.

Besides it is endgame content that should not be predicated upon being forced to play the game in a manner you do not intend to play. Otherwise have endgame content suited towards PvP and endgame content suited toward PvE, dont tie them together.

I think you misunderstood my intended point.

Legendary items require that you do all aspects of the game that aren’t pvp (I actually kinda wish it required something from tournament chests).

You have to wvw a moderate amount to get those badges
You have to dungeon a moderate amount to get the tokens
You have to earn karma regularly
You have to 400 crafting
You have to 100% explore the world
You have to grind a lot of mats/gold
With all of this, you’ll also need a precursor.

It’s an all-around challenge. You don’t have to be good at anything (no speed challenges, skill challenges, or kill/death ratio), but you have to do a lot of GW2.

I may have misunderstood. Sorry for appearing hostile if I did. I have done all the other requirements. I am down for the grinding of Mats, however adding the element of WvW which is predicated upon PvP which is unbalanced due to its nature of server v server play and player interest is a bit ridiculous. I could go on an make toon after toon in order to obtain these BoHs, but Iam dealing with an element that isnt worthy even of grind. I am forced into a play style (PvP) which is predicated upon the general interest of others to be involved. If ppl on my server are not interested in PvP then they are not interested, I cant generate interest in that respect. Thats the reason why games make dungeons with auto-party finders.

so the way to do the jumping puzzles which are PvP is to be forced into playing a game of civilization? If i wanted to play civilization then I would play that. As the video says, there is no point to this game play when we are discussing access to endgame content that you really are trying to access just for skin style really. set up siege weapons and equipment in the jumping puzzles in order to get BoHs that as the video says are BJs?

Something unique about legendary item crafting is it takes all parts of the game except for pvp.

This. If you’re not willing to put in the effort to do WvW, then maybe you’re not qualified to be deemed “legendary?”

As for the jumping puzzles, the EB jumping puzzle has a perma-stealth that you can use to avoid people. You’ll lose access to swiftness, but the jumping puzzle is completely do-able without swiftness.

Where is the Perma-stealth located?

Ursan I have not seen this Perma-Stealth you are speaking of to avoid people. I would love it if you point it out to me.

As for ArenaNet considering WvW part of the PvE environment, nothing is more ridiculous…There is NO balance to WvW! None! get on the server with the most people active in WvW and its a bore, be on the opposing server where people are not interested and its annoying! That is WvW at best right now! At its worst it is a dynamic event zerg rush from point a to point b.

I am also unsure how this works out when stats that are useful in PvE are utterly pointless in PvP against other players. You literally have to carry stats for PvE and stats for PvP. Gear for PvE and Gear for PvP, especially given the need for MF on items in order to loot items for rares. Carry that MF gear into a dungeon or WvW and you are an idiot, there is no direct translation. Its not login as my character and walkabout however you like between the two, otherwise there would not be this necessity to interrupt game flow by having to connect to a separate access point for WvW. By that very idea it is not apart of PvE

Besides it is endgame content that should not be predicated upon being forced to play the game in a manner you do not intend to play. Otherwise have endgame content suited towards PvP and endgame content suited toward PvE, dont tie them together.

Why are Legendary Equipment Tied to WvW???

I understand that Legendary equipment should be hard to obtain, but why are legendary equipment’s tied to WvW? Every Legendary piece of gear requires a player to traverse WvW in order to obtain the Gift of Battle. Why must I engage in PvP play in order to obtain endgame content?

WvW is predicated upon ensuring you are on a server where that is an interest otherwise you are dominated by the zerg rush of that opposing server anytime you attempt to join that play style in order to gain BoHs from jumping puzzles or otherwise. This is truly ridiculous.

Even worse there is no way to obtain these BoHs other than to do it yourself as they are bound to an account. WvW is perhaps the worst aspect of GW and not something i truly enjoy.

Yeah if you could not loot the chest that is screwed up. The end chest was great, I am not sure it was worth the total event, but they were good drops, atleast 4 exotics, mostly account bound or soulbound on use lvl 80 stuff.

The lack of direction is one of the worst parts of these events. I thought they would have learned from the Halloween event how that is not an effective strategy especially for timed one off events. Everyone is running around during phase 11 with no idea they needed to wait for the build up of trebuchet which had little to nothing to do with boarding a vessel to take you to the actual event, I don’t care if its free or not

I have received one scale and one shoulder guard from this event. I can not say I am happy with the event as I thought the lag, directions, and most things associated to it were horrible. I like the implementation of the Captains Commendation, but that involves the greater game play. I never got to do Noll because he was bugged throughout the entirety and there is nothing keeping in a desire to go to th lost shores as the things attained there are far too low in drop rate and have little significance than the things I could grab from other high level areas where I enjoy the play and drop rates more.

I hate to say it, but customer support has not been helpful with this. Despite there being a thread with instructions for reporting this issue they seem to be dumbfounded as if the thread and issue didnt exist. They asked me to download two programs testing my connection which revealed no problems and then sent me another program. I have used 5 programs now to test my connection speed, latency and configuration. I am sure it isn’t my connection.

As I said, I am reporting 0% packet loss, on a FIBER connection with average speeds 30/30mbps and an average ping of 20ms. I play DCUO, WOW, GW2, BF3, Borderlands 2 and the only game that has this spike in lag is Guild Wars 2.

Zorath…same issue here, started happening during the Halloween events. I only notice the problem during story event quest. I just stopped to give my mind a break, so I have not tested it out while exploring the world, though there were problems during the Halloween event is world exploration. This has happened 5 times in the past hour though.

Anyone else having game client connection issues? The game continually lags and then drops me from the game client. I have been experiencing this issue for almost 2 weeks now. I am on an ASUS G75VW with Fiber connection 35/20 at the moment 38ms Ping. Normally, I am higher than this with 50/30 connection and 18ms ping.

I am getting these results while the game is figuring out whether it wants to drop me or not. I can not make it through story events thanks to this error. It seems to occur more often in story mode than at any other point in the game, be it dungeons or casual exploration.

Create balance with Equipment loot

I have played through the dungeons and special events and at least 90% of the equipment I have received while doing so have been outside of my class use. Worst the 10% that I have received has been common level items worthless to me. I know this exist in other MMOs but this balance is the worst. It appears insanely more unbalanced for heavy armor users. I should not have to plan on playing as another class in order to effectively acquire appropriate equipment for another character.

I started a Guardian character late last night and I think I am going to skill build toward my Hammer version there as many of the weapon skills on the hammer for the Guardian Versus the Warrior seem in my opinion better. I really wanted to build a Thor-Like Character. I decided to go Human since I will still tweak my warrior to get him to a tank-y spec. I appreciate the help.

People say that warriors can’t take hits because they like to stand there on the mob, without worrying about anything but weapon abilities, which is what the guardian does.

The warrior’s defenses lay in CC’s, invulnerability stances, like shield stance and Endure Pain, dodges to avoid predictable hits (lots of options to get vigor), and kiting with cripple and immob to fill in the gaps.

Guardians are lazy and just hit the mob with blinds and blocks, over and over.

I would drop the greatsword, and pick up a mace and shield to go with your hammer to maximize face time with a mob

something like 20/0/30/0/20
3,5
5,7,11
1,8

with full zerker stats to improve your dps.

You have to take an active hand in your own defenses, passive crap is for babies.

Thanks for that info Khalous! I really do enjoy the look of two handed weapons is the reason for that choice. I have never ever used a shield in any game other than Dark Souls and I limited that. I was told to perhaps go with dual axes which seemed like a fun choice.

Usually when I play I am playing by myself. In previous MMOs I’ve been capable of building Paladin-like Warrior Builds. I am still trying to figure out Guild Wars 2 and its traits and skills though.

I am playing Norn-Warrior – Weapon Choices GS and Hammer
I am not looking to play the support warrior, I have seen some builds focused on providing shout support, but I am leaning more toward the signet in my build.

Goal: A high Vitality/ High Toughness – Medium to High Damager – Capable of surviving and killing almost anything and supporting self.

I am making my own weapons and armors.

Any help would be great!
At current I am Level 40. 10 in stength/10 in defense/10 in discipline.

Is the crit raises in discipline worth it. I find myself able to tank most things in open world, but I am getting leveled in Dungeons by enemies.

Here is what I am currently aiming for?

Hey,

First of all, vitality is kinda useless in this game, so avoid going +vitality sets.

My set (+power, +toughness, +healing power):

Cleric’s Draconic set (Monk Runes, +15 boon duration, Aegis on Elite and + healing power)
Cleric’s Pearl Mace + Shield
Sapphire Cleric’s Orichalcum jewelry set

Traits 0/0/30/30/10 (COPY/PASTE the link or it gets broken for some reason):
http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=34c6g03n3u42lv458000uuae4fj282g2i2s2v

You should have around 1400 healing power, which mean you’ll get healed for about 300hp/s from your signet, 300hp/s from the banner and another 120hp from you passive, 720hp/s total.

You can also have 100% uptime on fury (20%crit9% from passive) and 6x Might together with a 75% up time 33% speed boost.

I’m running this build and it’s tanky as hell, also your elite is on a 48sec cd, which means a free Aegis from your runes ever 48 sec.

why is Vitality useless in this game? I am still learning the traits so any information of the differences between benefits toughness vs. vitality would be helpful

Strategic approach:

- Toughness
- Regen/heal
- DPS
- CC

Gear-wise, PvE Knight’s looks like a good match with Tough, Prec, Power.

I would use Hammer with the Toughness tree, picking up the regen per Adrenaline and the Hammer trait. From here I think I would get 30 tactics for lower cooldown bursts, then take Berserker Stance, Endure Pain, Stance duration +25%.

Basically Hammer spam, high toughness, Burst spam with Hammer as CC spam and damage.

Sounds tight, I think I might do this on my Warr for PvE pew pew after I outgrow Signets.

Weapon swap would probably be … Axe + Warhorn if I don’t need Adrenaline, or Axe + Axe if I do.

I have seen some Axe/Axe builds that go that route. I am attempting the Vit/Tough/Precision/Power building now. I think this is probably going to be my best bet. I do find it weird that the warrior cant take a hit and is subject to back of the group status in dungeons.

GS warriors with 4-5 signets in Dungeons anyone else hate this

I personally have no problem with signet stacking warrs, however in my opinion: Signet stacking is a solo build. Aside from the damage, they bring no utility or group synergy on their own. Provided their weapon maybe has a “heal party on crit” mechanic from one of the sigils or the like, it just looks like a solo build to me. You can argue about gear, how hard you’ve hit, the history of successful groups you’ve run. It still will not change the reality that the signet stacking warr is a build catered more toward solo play then groups.

I agree with this. I only switch when I notice the group I am in contains no Guardian style character. Personally I like the Signets more than dropping banners and shouts. I think its more important for me to stay alive and soak up damage than cast shouts that do not last long unless I specialize in that and I am no going to specialize my build to play in a group

I play a DPS high Vitality build. That way I do alot of DMG and soak up the damage, but I also play two-handed weapons so I get some DMG AOE going. I am usually reviving mages and the likes as well while I am getting beat on because my vitality and toughness are high I never worry too much about dying.
