Experience Scrolls do not stack

I have two stacks of green Experience Scrolls. They both have identical descriptions. These are the scrolls that advance a toon to level 20. I have tried the hack of moving them both to my bags, and then going back to the character screen and back in. Which worked to restack all the other items that would not stack. I have also moved the items to my bags and exited the program, then logged back in and tried to restack them.
Sure would be nice if these didn’t take up more bank space than required. Or do they only stack to 5? If that’s the issue, then please let them stack to 250 like everything else. Someday I’ll use them.

I just did some swimming and running video captures, with and without Signet of the Hunt and voila… On land the Signet has been Nerfed.

Methodology: Capture video over a fixed course. Both ways. Watch out for any other folks giving you a speed boost or other buff and eliminate those takes. Run/ Swim with and without Signet of the Hunt – 25% boost. Clip video and then use video editor to measure length of clip. I’m using Corel Video Studio Pro btw.

Running a fixed course I found:
Swimming a between two fixed points I found a 27% difference [ within margin of error obviously] in speed. 7.1 sec with the Signet and 9.03 sec without.
On land I found no difference in running a 14 sec course. I ran / swam the courses both ways several times to avoid sampling error.

It’s not lag, it’s nerffing the running speed boost. Swimming works fine. Looks like something left over from April Fool.

nope. No camera changes… I’m sorry I didn’t do a video capture of a fixed distance so I could time it before and now. But of course, now is too late. Maybe someone can find a video that does show running over a known distance and repeat it now.

BTW, even my Superior Sigil of Speed – 33% speed boost on kills that stacks – does not seem to be working. It’s like all speed boosts are nerfed. I show the speed trails behind my character, but am not running faster.

I use Ranger/Signet of the Hunt and am used to running 25% faster.
After the update I seem to be plodding along… Anyone else notice that?
Or is it that I took Volunteer’s Blessing [moved out of an empty map] which gives only 15% and now I’m running 15% rather than 25% faster? Er.. Nope that’s not it. VB timed out and I’m still slogging along.

Anybody else notice that their speed buffs are nerfed?

So, I see a feature I was not aware of previously. Open the map, wave your mouse over the list on the left side and it lights up the things you are missing.
But there’s a bug. You only get to flash one kind of thing per map open.
For example, if you open the map and flash the Skill points, you can’t then flash the POIs until you close and reopen the map.
Odd… Why not flash everything I wave over without having to close and reopen the map?
Sounds like a minor but annoying bug.
Great Feature tho.
Now I don’ t have to open a cleared copy of the map on another screen and manually search it to clear a map. Not sure how long this great feature [with it’s little annoyance] has been there, but CHEERS for the feature! Always seemed to me that someone thought I should really have to manually search for all those hidden hearts like it was some Rite of Passage to find them hidden in the weeds. Hurray for just flashing them.

I made my second ranger and with some Tomes and work, he’s now level 35. So now it’s time to load up on pets that are accessible, but the Black Moa is missing from the Hall of Monuments [Yes I have 15 points from GW1]. My previous Ranger had no trouble finding the Moa. And I see “This content has been temporarily disabled” when I check with the gear guy in the pond. Of course all the Legacy gear skins are available in my Wardrobe since my previous toons picked them all up.
Did we see an announcement for what happened with the Legacy?

Oh, I see a difference. One of the mystic stones says “Account Bound” and the others say “Account Bound on Acquire”. which is clearly different, but a distinction without a difference since I own them all. Seems like all these are really the same and someone just tweaked the description keeping them from stacking.??

I just got a mystic forge stone – daily reward I guess. So I tried to put it away in the bank and it won’t stack with the other 76 mystic stones that I already have in the bank.

Duh?? Is this some sort of scheme to make me buy more bank slots?
What gives guys??
I have noticed this with something else too, but right now I forget what that item was. Some buff or other that I tried to put away. You should check Experience Scrolls [ the type that pushes you directly to level 20]. I have two stacks of 5, which seems pretty odd since the descriptions look identical to me. Also Experience Boosters.

Did you change some invisible database item id that makes these items different so they won’t stack, but otherwise they look identical?
Please let me stack stuff with same descriptions to some reasonable depth, not 5, more like 250 like everything else. Anyway, 76 seems like a really odd stacking limit for mystic stones so something is really wrong.

Yes. I see the controls and I’ve tried them. I don ‘t seem to be able to get a full character size photo. That is, with my characters head at the top of the frame and her toes at the bottom.
I’m suggesting it would be nice to take shots where I can record the look of all the gear, and to take face closeups where the face, or at least nipples to top of head full the frame vertically. You know. The shots like you usually take of yourself.
Bust and Full Length selfies.

Love the new 3rd Person View, but there still is something missing.
If I want to shoot a picture of myself, then I can’t really do a close up of my whole self. If I zoom in, then I get my upper half and my face, but….
What about we lower the camera to 1/2 the character height on the last mouse wheel roll before it goes 3rd person? That way I can see all of me filling the screen?
Wonder why we didn’t think of that…
Other unmentionable games do that.
Minor tweak… At last 3rd person for those landscape shots!!
Hurray.
Now if we could only do nice “selfies”.

I just got a feel for what first person view might feel like, but I think it was a bug.
I was in Lions’ Arch near the Canal Ward WP and carved a pumpkin. I stepped back to take a screen shot of the pumpkin and may have hit some CTRL/Shift/Alt combo, but anyway, I disappeared. So I was able to do skills and zoom in and out. But my toon was gone. Weapon animations occurred, and for a time, my weapon appeared and then disappeared. I have a Fraps capture of the thing – not from the beginning, but from part of the way through. So did they add First Person? I saw something about a beta of it.
A search brought up some forum posts, but seemed to be more of the conversations asking for it rather than talking about its existence.

Anyway, it’s kind of freaky to see your foot prints when you zoom out, but not see yourself. Great for pics of game tho. I have great pics of the pumpkin without me in the way.
I had just changed my hair style a minute or so before I carved the pumpkin. Maybe that’s what triggered the bug. Dunno.
Maybe I got a Halloween Trick for carving the pumpkin, but usually those show up at the top of the screen or in the status area showing you are transformed.
Log out and back and it’s all fixed anyway.

The screenshot function closes popup windows. Not all the time, but mostly. And esp when you want it. So if I want to record a popup [little window that shows when you hover mouse over an item in bags /bank], of say stats for an item in the bags /bank, for my own interest or as a matter of documentation of a bug or feature or tutorial, it’s almost impossible to do this reliably since the screenshot often, but not always, closes the popup window before capturing the screen.

Can we all agree that the screen shot should just capture the screen, and it’s a bug when the screen is changed before it’s captured?

Invulnerable?? - Thoughtless Boss Mechanics

I see, Ayrilana. That may have been the intent, and maybe it’s a bug. But the big husk boss was ATTACKING while it was saying Invulnerable. I watched for several minutes. Waiting on more than 3 of us to show up. But when the thing kept going IV and attacking, and doing damage to the folks there, I said – “Cheater” and moved on with my life. If the vine minion thing is going on, the AI design seems to be “I’m a big boss that will kill you, but you have to kill my minions before you can do any damage to me.” I don’t recall having seen that here before. What I have seen is that the boss goes IV and stops attacking until you kill it’s minions. Hey, AN can do anything they want, and I can decide whether their design is cheating, and not participate.

On a similar note, I never had any fun with all the Toxic content we saw last year, and sill remains in a few places. It was all so difficult that you apparently needed ascended gear. All I have at this point is level 80 exotic, so I was out gunned by so much that it wasn’t even a starter. Hey that’s fine. They build it and I can decide whether or not to participate. So far there are still places that I’ve found where a poor level 80 with only exotic gear can have fun.

Sorry NVM… I’m such a whiner… with the flame thrower it’s trivial. Only died 5 or 6 times and no chest at the end, but I got gold…

Are you suggesting that I didn’t RTFM?? kitten kitten kitten [sic] I’m often caught reading wiki pages, but not usually before I starting killing a foe. Not even in dungeons. I usually go there and learn from others that are doing the dungeon. Sure damps down the immersion of the experience if you have to stop to read the manual don’t you think?

Hey, AN. It takes no thought at all to make a boss Invulnerable. And it’s no fun to play bosses like this.

I’m cleaning up the hearts in Iron Marches and of course there is some new content.
Happy day. But it’s pretty silly when the big boss is mostly invulnerable.
Can we all agree that if a boss goes invulnerable, then it does not attack? Or grow health?
Seems fair to me. I can see a boss going IV when it spawns minions. In that case it leaves the fight and you have to take care of the minions and then get back to the boss.
I’m watching this boss in the twisted vines here in Iron Marches near [Sleekfur Encampment WP] and it goes IV, and continues to attack. I’m not even joining that fight. No fun. That’s a Cheating Boss and thoughtless AI mechanics, IMO.

Maybe this has been covered elsewhere. But I’m just saying…..

Hey AN. Let’s be fair and spend more than 5 minutes designing a boss.

Near the Memorial Quadrant WP and the Laurel Merchant there is a strange display bug. Walking back and forth causes the world to mostly disappear and then reappear with each step. I have a youtube video of the effect.

Camera moves when you are dead...

It is very annoying, IMHO a bug, that the camera points to the ground when you are dead.
Playing alone PVE, it’s no big deal. You don’t stay dead long enough for it to be an issue.
Playing in a dungeon with a group dying does not mean that you bug out instantly. You probably wait for someone to revive you, or you decide to respawn with the rest, or you give the rest of the group help via chat while you are dead, or listen to their advice while you are dead.
Camera continually moving DOWN away from the others in the group is REALLY ANNOYING!!!
Please just leave the camera alone when I die.
Like I said, IMHO, this is a bug.

And why does search this forum trigger before I’m done typing?
I’m in Blazer Ridge and keep get attacked by Invulnerable Spectral Flames.
I don’t really care if they enhance the game with new “April Fool” junk all the time.
No problem. But when the April Fool items are Invulnerable, then that’s just too much.
Sometimes none of them are around, but then they start appearing. And then they start ganging up on you. And about 3-4 of them at once can take you out.
What’s the story. Some new potion that we need to take or buy from the store to kill these things. Some new underwear that we need to wear? What gives??

I have a repeatable case. Looks like a bug to me. In blazer ridge, just south outside of Guardian Stone WP, if you bring up Bone Fiend and Shadow Fiend and then circle around to the South onto normal ground – from the branded ground – past the big plains worm, your minions will get stuck and die. I have a capped video of it happening. Tried it a couple of times to verify it. I don’t think this is a one-off bug since I have played the Necro a few hours in several different zones over the past two days and noticed my minions have no survivability. We got a bug here folks??

Have others noticed that Necro pets are dying all the time?
My 80 Necro used to have no problems with having to re-up the pets unless I was in a boss battle. Now they disappear all the time. For example, when running with Bone Fiend and Shadow Fiend, in Blazer Ridge I ran outside the camp and jumped off a small head high cliff and the two minions hung up on the cliff and them timed out and died.
The mini that I have up at the same time ran around the cliff and caught up with me. Only a few yards by the way.
Did we change something with Necro minions? Their lifetimes or their AI or something?
They sure are a lot less useful than they used to be as recently as a few weeks ago.

Engineer Cultural Turrets??

I’m a proud and accomplished Asura engineer and I’m not happy with my turrets. They look like rusty old tin cans. Not really worthy of the high quality technology that we Asura are noted for. If I were designing these turrets they would be based on the technologically superior design and style of the Glyphic weapons that we Asura are noted for. And also my Krewe would be happy to build turrets for the Charr based on their Steam Punk weapon designs that are in keeping with their antiquated technology.
I am sure that even the primitive Norn could come up with some better designs based on animal spirits or using powder musket / cannon technology. The Humans, even as primitive as they are could come up with some technology based on their typical shiny metal armor designs. Don’t we think even those bog composter Sylvari would be using turret designs based on growing plants?

Am I missing something or is it time for a Turret overhaul?
Maybe one of the Blue lower level traits would set whether these new designs are active.
I’m sure that somewhere in Arenanet, there is a lowly intern krewe member who can accomplish this change for us.

This is still happening. I’ve only seen it occur when I spam the “interact” key when things are pretty hot and heavy and it only leaves coin from one corpse. I’ve never seen it leave an item, only coin. I’ve just enabled AutoLoot and AoE loot, which will prevent my needing to spam the “interact” key. Not sure why there should be a race with “Interact” tho. A race in one thing might mean a race somewhere else that is more important than losing a few coin.

I’m not saying that it’s not my fault for misunderstanding. [I’m sure you can parse the DoubNeg or this that a triple negative.]
I’m saying that increasing the bank and bag stacking too would be useful.
And I’m annoyed that they think they can charge for those separately instead of just bundling those increases in too. I guess they need an upgrade to introduce next year. After all, if they have determined that the economy is working so that folks want a ton of space for farming and crafting, then that’s the way it is and stacks of only 250 are known to be a problem. Hence the partial fix to the problem. So how about the whole fix? When do we see that? Have you tried to drag 500 things to the bag or bank when they fill up? Sigh… At least we didn’t get a fix to the game that limits gathering and crafting. I’ve seen other games that felt that these were needed to “fix” the economy.

I’m surprised and annoyed that Collection Expander only changes the collection pages and not the bank and bag slots. Much less useful if it’s not a real upgrade to the whole thing.

Anthill Skritts don't talk to you

In Metrica Province, Anthill, the Greedy Skritt Foragers carrying glowing chaotic material refuse to talk to you.
At this point, the Vet is dead. I entered and killed the Vet.
But the Greedy Skritt Foragers bring up a dialog and immediately dismiss it before I get a chance to chose what to tell them. I could not find a single forager to get the whole dialog. They all dismissed the dialog immediately. This means that only the chaotic material are left to get points for the heart.
Something is wrong…

Asura Engineer Off Hand Pistol Bug

If Asura Engineer equips a pistol in the Off-Hand, then the Flamethrower 4 skill aims to the right by 45 degrees instead of at the target. The damage seems to occur to the target but the flame doesn’t go the right way.

There was no time… As I said. By the time my toon rezed so I could see the screen I was almost dead from the Elite attacks. No time to do anything. And you can’t use a WP while in combat. Can’t leave the instance with a WP since when you open the map, all you see is in the instance. Sure seems like a nasty bug.. Unless you are a sadist game designer.

Several times I’ve killed something and then the loot will not gather.
It’s always coin, never an item.
Go kill something else, loot gathers fine. But the coin from that mob is lying there and I can’t collect it. Just happened to me from a windrider in Brisbane near the veteran East of Ulta Metamagicals WP.
First time I thought that there was a server glitch in a heavy battle.
But I was working this area alone, so no excuses for too much traffic or something.
It’s a bug.

Mini's not like Jute Scraps

I think we can all agree that Mini’s are not like Jute scraps. They are more like Finishers.
Let’s have them stored in an interface like Finishers.
Put a new tab in the Hero panel.
Each one is stored there once per account. You don’t need more than one of a type.
Select the one you want to show off, per character.
Use a key to activate them – default to Ctrl / Alt / M perhaps. or Set the key you like in the options panel.
Voila. Minis aren’t in the bank, don’t take bag space, and make more sense.
Oh. And on my birthday, I don’t need 5 copies of Queen what’s her name. How about mixing that up a little? Didn’t GW1 birthday’s randomly choose from a set? I remember not having a pile of the same ones. I know she is very nice looking, but seriously.

You have got to be kidding!!! An event that spawns an elite krait right outside the door to the tower? How lame is that? How do you leave the tower?
If you leave the tower via the portal, and the event is going, you don’t know, until you are dead. By the time you wake up from the portal transition you are dead.

This is either a horrible joke for those who have succeeded with the tower, or just a game bug. I presume, in my kindhearted mood, after working the tower with a level 50 guardian with masterwork gear and failing the final hybrid boss. That this is just a game bug and not a gruel joke for those of us who played this new content.

After all it’s not April, yet.

Heart Merchants Tabs Broken

After the last release the heart merchants tabs are broken.
If you open a heart merchant, it is set to Sell, but the tab says Vend.
It always has been opening to Vend rather than Sell.

If you preview armor from bank or bags sometimes the dye is not used.
If you preview armor from a vendor then the dye works fine.

When previewing armor from Cultural Armor vendors in Divinity Reach and dye was fine.
When previewing loot armor from bank, while in a tailoring station, and dye was “removed”. Sure would be nice to see dye in all previews.

Currently screenshots are just numbered. But this is a problem if you want to archive the shots since it’s the only thing that is really permanent or can be shared.
Here’s an example, I have an SSD, which I don’t want to fill with my 1000’s of screen shots, obviously. So I move them to another disk. But if you delete them from the Screenshot folder, they are then numbered as duplicates starting with 1 again.

So I need to grab them in chunks and run a batch renamer every time to rename them with date / number so that they have unique names. Irfanview has that feature.
But this is a pain. How about we change screenshotting to use a gwyyyymmddhhmmssmmm.jpg format so that every name is unique.

Sounds like a great little project for one if your trainees or interns.

I won’t even go back to the subject about how every screenshot is a Selfie. That’s been covered many times before, but I still don’t get why we still don’t have a 1st person view so we can take anything but selfies. All the other games do that of course.

Pet names not saving?

Actually, my experience is that this was working fine just a few days ago. I named Ice Drake to Icy Drake, and that stuck. I named a jaguar to Black Panther and that stuck. Now today I picked up a Jungle Stalker and the names won’t save anymore.
So this is a really big deal to have a different name for each of the pets? To drop that silly Juvi from the beginning? Or to show some style?
Sigh… Minor issue, but it sure is annoying.

Merdian Province / Thaumanova Reactor / Ancient Elemental
As a level 18-20 guardian, how can I contribute to this fight?

Not sure how to do ranged damage that can reach this boss? The staff looks pretty much nerfed for range damage.

Do I get credit for healing folks?

Do I get credit for killing minions?

How often can I do this each day? I failed once and after that even surviving the fight got me no credit. Where are the rules?

Asura Gate tags with ALT or on map.

ALT shows tags for NPCs and other items in the area.
However, it does not work for ASURA gates.
For example, standing in Lion’s Arch or Rata Sum near a group of gates, using ALT does not allow you to identify gates from a distance. You have to Remember which gate is which, or run up to each one until the gate tag appears.
PAIN.
If you are running around through gates, it sure would be nice to be able to use ALT and also to see identifying tags on the MAP. They all say ASURA gate, which is not useful. Spawn point tags show on the map as you mouse over them. Why don’t Asura gates work the same way.
Let me see the gate tags name on the map so I see where to go and then use ALT to find the gates.

Lost Hall of Monuments Portal Stone

So I have 5 toons, and have been away for a while. When I got back last week, I found Hall of Monuments Portal Stones waiting for me. For each of my toons. But alas, I’ve lost one of them. Not sure how that happened. Don’t think I would have destroyed it. Although it took me a week to get around to visiting the ruins to see what awaits there.

Now that I know how neat they are to get those free weapon / armor skins, I’d like to get that missing one back. Any idea on how to materialize one for my toon? Sure I could pass them through the bank, but… well you know. It’s a pain.
