It’s alright, I just updated my Realtek drivers and sound is now available. Success! I guess it was that all along. Thanks!

Thank you for your response, and yes I’ve tinkered around with the options as such, especially with the device selection. I’ve not gone to the extent of that mentioned in the thread, but perhaps it’s time for me to test that out.
So far (and I’ve just done this again), I’ve tried selecting the 3 different options (only ones available to me), but no sound trickles in. I’ve even configured all the sliders to the right just so to hear something.
If I could just get more of your help, perhaps it has something to do with uninstalling my automatic motherboard audio device (Realtek) and updating them drivers. The PC I’ve got is fairly new, so I didn’t really expect the need for any updating.
I just went into Sound options in Control Panel and disabled the Realtek Audio Device, but the Manager can still be accessed. I’m currently using a Creative 2.1 Sound system, and have selected the option for that in GW2. Still no sound. Any other suggestions?
Hi, I’m hoping to get some official Anet tech support with this particular issue of mine. I have, prior to this, submitted a ticket on the GW2 website as well as an in-game bug report, but have yet to be addressed by it.
When I first started playing this game, I had environment, background music, and other associated in-game sounds. About 2 weeks after the live launch, I lost all sounds to it, but patiently decided to wait for help after submitting a ticket. My built-in sound card and speakers work perfectly fine on other games, and have been playing GW2 with music instead.
I’m more than willing to accept any tips from the other users who might have suggestions on how to go about resolving this issue. Should an Anet staff come across this thread, I hope the person would be able to review my report at the following ticket number – Ticket #120911-000498
On a side note, I’ve come across 2 other threads regarding sound issues, but have not been able to replicate their methods. Thank you.
