Dolyak Defender Achievement Bugged?

My party also completed it and even got all the dolyaks to survive. No achievement for dolyak defender and no waves survived at all. Also stuck at 14/15 for completed waves.

That’s an odd analogy.

And no, you wouldn’t necessarily lose that investor. Investment managers know more than your average Joe since that is their day job – managing investments. If they want to sell a stock because it has reached it’s peak or they think it’s going to go down on bad results (bad Q3) then they’ll sell it and find a better stock to hold.

I don’t know anything specific about my mutual fund and the markets it invests in, but I trust the portfolio manager and I leave it at their discretion.

Investors who owns a portfolio is not your average Joe. Your argument is mutt.

Just like doctors, as well as investment managers, you would want to get a second, third, or even forth opinion. Blind trust is reckless.

So basically make everything easy just like the rest of the game?

Not easy but smart.

If people don’t feel like changing builds there is nothing forcing them. If they however want to get the achievements they simply have to accept the fact that they need to actually adjust to the challenge at hand.

Adjusting is not the same as rebuilding. Adjusting your house’s stability for earthquakes doesn’t not equate complete rebuild of the house from the ground up.

I can adjust my build in many fights without changing any of my allocated points, but requiring me to refund all points is a rebuild. Not only that it will require play style change, but also gear change to complement the build.

The encounters aren’t even smart. It’s a brute, sadistic game play with no value. One of the fight where you’re constantly tossed and knockdown is so unplayable for those profession with no or limited access to stability.

So far in the other threads, it has been beaten by every class. Sure it requires a different build sometimes, and some classes have it easier than others in some fights, but its definitely possible to go from beginning to end in one class.

I disagree. In the fight that you’re complaining about, I WATCHED my friend change his build, meaning strictly traits, not gear. As a thief, he had no access to stability, and still won. Did it require some skill? Yes. Was it impossible? Not even close, he beat it in one run. Same with me, as a mesmer. Mesmers don’t exactly have a ton of stability, but got through it anyways after like, the second try.

Beat her finally after 70+ attempts with my mesmer. My setup was GS scepter/focus, weird as that was. Never thought I’d use that combination like, ever.

Similar to the effects of the SE armor before they were fixed, the gems in the helm disappear and leave a weird empty spot in the Zephyrite helm when the juggernaut armor effect is active. The effect is creepy

@Butter I believe the reason why the snowflakes were so bad in bans was due to the ability of regaining the materials needed to make the actual jewelry in the first place. So you would salvage one, get a ratio of the snowflakes back, and some ectos. So essentially you could do this over and over with a massively reduced rate of needed materials due to the materials salvaged out. So instead of paying like, 20s for one rare to salvage, you paid on average like, 3s. It was clearly not normal in terms of yielded materials.

I have also had the same problem. My achievements for crabgrabber and crab-carrying competitor have been stuck at the same numbers. I know I’ve come close to completing or have already completed these two achievements, however neither of them are showing any progress despite playing more games.

Somebody willing to purchase some exos to see if there’s a difference between exos and rares? Don’t have that much gold right now

if you have some blsk’s laying around, just do a quick margin calculation and front the cost for some exos. you’ll break even or make some back in addition to the free ecto and…for science!

This was already done in my post with about 100 (the rate of exotics salvaged and with BLKs), I won’t do more since its an awful lot of lost money. Posted results previously in this thread.

I figured I’d add in more statistics too. Before the patch, my friends/guildmates documented (via excel) 1455 exotic items salvaged, all with black lion kits. The results looked like this:
26.46% 3 ectos,
37.93% 2 ectos,
13.6% 1 ecto,
21.99% 0 ectos.
Yes I know this isn’t the largest sample size, but I’m just sharing the results.

After the patch, we had a much larger decrease. This is with the same parameters as above, except only with 98 exotics (exotics are expensive for the sake of math/science):
0% with 3 ectos,
26.37% with 2 ectos,
24.17% with 1 ecto,
and a whopping 49.45% with 0 ectos.

Once again, low sample size post patch, but the sudden staggering rate of 0% of 3’s from exotics, coupled with an almost 50% 0 ectos rate with a BLK are hard to ignore. Using the percent of 3 ectoplasms per exotics before the patch in our data, the chances of getting 0 in 91 is 1.2591762e-12, which is one trillionth of a chance (assuming no change as stated, and that my math isn’t off). Once again I know this isn’t the largest data sample, but the overall numbers are still disheartening.

Well that data is pretty convincing.

I’d advice anyone else not to salvage their rares and wait until a fix. Because this is definitively a bug. There’s seriously no arguing against it.

My data only applies to exotics, but n=1455 before patch and n=98 after patch and the results produced is a decent amount of data to at least see the ratios have changed unintentionally.

Bauble (Exploit?) Question

That’s what I was thinking too. I guess the bauble skins for exchange aren’t sellable, so the farming is strictly for the chance of a sellable skin from the first world chest.

Bauble (Exploit?) Question

I was wondering about this and if its a design flaw or not. Since baubles are character bound per chest, is it considered mechanics abuse to recreate a character over and over to get the first 2 baubles from the first chest?

I know farming black lion keys this way is considered to be ok, but this =/= BLK. On one hand, I figure this is the fastest way to get a GS skin outside of buying one, on the other hand, I wouldn’t want to risk a ban for an exploit. I know someone that has 15 character slots and do the first level 15x for 30 baubles, if he chose to.

I also have the same issue with this since the patch across characters, and this is something that I haven’t seen before the patch. I also have a screenshot of the incident, although its a lot more convoluted than the above picture. (Note the trees that can be seen inside the building)

I updated my drivers after seeing this initially, and the problem still persists.
