Hmm, that seems like an incomplete implementation to me then. It makes no sense whatsoever that an item should keep a prefix (which is always determined by stats), if the end result does not contain the stats that provide said prefix.

It makes sense for the end result to take on the name (IE: masquerade mantle) of the skin used, but the prefix is a separate entity governed by stats, in the same way that a suffix is governed independently by runes. This would be as if a transmuted item kept the rune suffix of the item used for appearance, even though you selected the rune on the opposite item.

This is my understanding, yes. In the case of my items, I would expect the end result to be named Masquerade Mantle (as I used the Rampager’s Masquerade Mantle for the looks). However, the Rampager’s prefix is tied to the stats of the original “looks” item, and since an item’s prefix is inherited by its stats, the resulting item should have the Berserker’s prefix, as the “stats” item I used was a Berserker’s, not a Rampager’s.

I opened a support ticket (#105304) regarding an issue I encountered, and received a scripted “sorry we won’t help you” response. Upon elaborating further, I received another similar scripted response. I understand that support staff are incredibly busy and receive a huge volume of requests, but truly nothing is more frustrating than taking the time to write out a detailed message explaining an issue with an item, and not having someone so much as take a minute to respond!

Essentially, the problem I have encountered is that upon using a Transmutation Crystal on a piece of exotic Berserker’s armor and a rare Rampager’s Masquerade Mantle (being careful to keep the stats of the Berserker’s piece, and using the visuals of the Rampager’s piece), strangely, the finished item ended up named “Rampager’s Masquerade Mantle”, though it has Berserker’s stats on it. Logic would point to the finished item coming out as “Berserker’s Masquerade Mantle”, as item prefixes are tied to the stats on the item, similarly to how an item suffix is tied to the rune associated with it.

I understand that normal items cannot be replaced and I have accepted the loss of the armor skin used in the transmutation… but surely the Transmutation Crystal, being an item that is purchasable for real-life money, is considered to be held in a different category? All I am requesting is a replacement of the Transmutation Crystal, so that I may purchase a “Berserker’s Masquerade Mantle” and use it to properly name my finished item. In lieu of that, and a much better option – would be a permanent fix to the transmutation system, so that the Prefix title of the finished item is tied to the stats of the finished item.
