Do you fight these dragons more than once a day with the same character? Do you get the loot once a day?

If the answers to both questions are yes, then you got all rewards!

In short:
- the extra chest (above the minimap) is once a day and account bound
- the boss chest (usually somewhere around the dragon) is rewarded once per day and character

How to avoid hitting DR?

Recently I do shatterer and jormag events a lot, and occasionally I got a gold medal but no loots or dragon chest. I checked the forum and found it might be due to DR.

The worst thing is in the last three consecutive successful events (my timeline: personal story – pre-shatterer events – shatterer – jormag – frostgorge champ run – a failed shatterer – afk for 7 hours – shatter), I got no reward at all except the gold medals. It’s really depressing and do u guys have any suggestion on how to avoid hitting DR?
