I am not sure what the hell you were thinking ANet, but with these new requirements, you are forced to dodge (the reward should be the dodge itself, not a daily cookiee), and you are forced to watch people die around you so you can revive them.

I don’t play a lot with other people, and the few I do play with simply don’t die that often (not even against champions).

Why was this changed in the first place? It was tricky to get the right kill variety and events, and usually took 2 hours unless you were intent on completing it fast. Now, for me, and players like me, it’s essentially impossible.

Why are daily achievements suddenly dependant on other players? I don’t want to be forced to revive others for my gain, and as a cc-focused engineer, I often don’t even HAVE to dodge, or I use the dodge to gain range, which doesn’t result in an “Evade!” popup.

Seriously. Why?

It’s not just dependency on other players, it’s also why make it a requirement to do objectives that will turn some players off to the game? If the daily achievement is supposed to be an award for playing the game, why have achievements that are counter-productive and will make people less inclined to play it?
Someone did make the point that there are supposed to be x vs y achievements eventually. Counter-point is that we don’t know how long eventually is going to be, and in the mean time there are going to be more players, like the original poster here, who prefer things as they were.

In-game a LOT of people were confused about the revive achievement. While it did help bring large groups of people together for events, I watched people let each other die like flies to revive them for the achievement. A little counter-productive for the whole working together thing. A number of people could not get that NPC’s could be revived, and a number of people thought that it was just trolling

Today we have Daily Veteran Slayer and Daily Crafter. Some people have issues taking on veterans, whether they’re grouped up or not. And that if we want that daily achievement, we have to go an extra step to hunt down veteran after veteran? Very discouraging for the average player.

An achievement should not have to be earned by spending, otherwise they might as well put those Laurels up for sale for any of the various monetary systems in the game. With Daily Crafter, they want us to use our crafting materials to make a bunch of junk that we’ll either sell, salvage, or flood the Black Lion Trading Company with.

Arenanet has been doing a good job of keeping us preoccupied with new content, making bug fixes (and throwing up a lot of invisible walls…), and listening to feedback. Just don’t lose focus and go the way of that one company that pulled the L4D2 fiasco.

Finally, a number of you should be encouraging casual players to play, not putting people down and telling them to quit!
