HDMI Signal Loss / Mode not supported

Well i’ll begin with my computer specs:
Motherboard: ASROCK 990 extreme 3
Processor: AMD FX-8350
GPU: AMD Radeon XFX 7950 3GB DDR5
RAM: 8GB G-Skill Ripjaw
PSU: 750watt Corsair

So I began playing Guild Wars 2 about a week ago. Everything ran flawlessly and I was having a great time. Last night I randomly came back to my computer and I had a Mode Not Supported: Please change the resolution on the external device message. I run my brand new computer ( 2 weeks old not a single component was from an old build ) through my 39" Samsung LED HDTV via HDMI. Now this is odd because both my computer and tv’s native resolution is 1920×1080 and that is what they are set to.

After rebooting because that was my only option I booted up fine and opened Guild Wars 2. 20 minutes into gaming I got the “No Signal” from my TV and I was forced to reboot my system. It happens after about 5-30 minutes of gaming and there is no bypassing it. Every time this happens I have to restart my computer by holding the power button. I haven’t been able to resolve the problem.

I play many other games on max settings with no trouble at all. Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, Dishonored. I don’t see the issue being my video card nor the HDMI outputs on my video card. I initially thought it was my video card and I was tempted to get it RMA’ed. After doing testing in other games, netflix and running the MSI Kombustion stress test for over a half hour with my GPU load completely maxed out and without error I’ve come to the conclusion that it isn’t my video card nor my tv. It must be the Guild Wars 2 client.

I’ve tried different monitors as well as different HDMI cables and still encounter the exact same problem… but again only in Guild Wars 2. I’ve tried deleting the Guild Wars 2 cache folder and this doesn’t work. Tried deleting the local.dat folder and this doesn’t work neither. I’ve also tried setting my AMD Envision (Catalyst) anti-aliasing to “use application preferences”. I should probably note too that all my drivers are up to date and I am not using the current AMD Radeon beta drivers.

Nothing seems to work and I have limited time to exchange my video card which I still don’t think is the cause. Any advice or fixes would be appreciated as I just got the game a week ago and would really enjoy playing it. It’s currently completely unplayable and I feel like I just wasted $60.

Thanks for you time.

Ill also mention that I just ran the MSI Kombustor at 1080p open gl for a half hour. No crashes. Ran at 99% GPU load and never went above 65 degrees celcius. I hope they fix the client soon. Because im not almost 100% sure it isnt my machine.

You guys aren’t alone. I’m running a brand new system with a radeon xfx 7950. I can only play for about 5 minutes before I get a loss of signal through HDMI and I then have to reset my computer. I`ve tested other games such as dishonored, bioshock infinite running at the highest settings without a hiccup. Not to mention I`ve tried different cables.. different monitors. All drivers are up to date. I ran netflix for 8+ hours to see if this problem just occured naturally.. not a chance. I thought my video card HDMI ports were broken.

After reading this im starting to think my brand new video card isnt the issue. Its the client. I did however just start playing guild wars.. less then a week ago and this problem only began to occur last night.
