Is this one of those routers that will switch you depending on circumstance? For example, I use wifi from an Apple Time Capsule to access the internet and it switches between 2.8 and 5 GHz and I had this same problem. I fixed it by only allowing my computer to have the password for (and thus access to) one of the bands. As soon as I did this, my black screen problem went away. I can’t tell you how to do this on your router, but it might solve your problem.

Is this working for anyone? It’s the last thing I need in the area.

This sounds like something mine does occasionally too. I just fiddle with my mouse/movement/jump keys for maybe 30 seconds and it fixes itself and I keep playing. I’ve never had it get stuck this way and been unable to fix it in this manner.

I have the exact same problem. The PC Support forums have a thread with people having this problem too. If I had to guess, I’d think it’s from the servers being overloaded with everyone trying to get on after being kicked for the patch, but I don’t know.
