for guild chat, i have a tab just for guild chat. i took the advice here.
unrep then re-rep, no go
changed status to invis, game crashed,
changed status to online, un-rep then re-rep and i can now type stuff in guild chat
however, if you wp or flip to a different chat tab, guild chat gets wiped. this doesn’t happen with any other type of chat
edit: skill point at stormbluff beacon in blood tide coast is bugged. cannons can only fire into the ledge as they don’t aim up slightly like they used to.

So, in the wake of the latest patch screw up seen here (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Unintended-Monthly-Achievement-Rollback/first), I decided to uninstall GW2. I was greeted by an untokenized string that i would assume was meant to link to a survey asking me why I was uninstalling. However, it was just odd looking text on my screen that linked to a string of itself; something like @TEXT_EXITSURVEY. I had no internet connection while uninstalling to ensure you couldn’t trace the uninstall to my account ( but now I don’t care because I won’t be installing GW2 ever again )
You can fix it if you like…. once the uninstaller is fired up, you are about to lose a customer so I’m not sure ANet even cares.
After investigation by our programmers, they have determined that the fix to this issue would be too risky and could end up making the situation worse than it is. Unfortunately, this means that we’re not able to make changes to correct the issue. We’re sorry about this and we will be implementing ways to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.
Thank you Regina. While you are at it, why don’t you update your official support page so that it actually matches your product (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Monthly).
Furthermore, I am afraid to say this latest incident cost you me playing and my spending. This cavalier attitude towards your players/customers, their experience in your world and NCSoft’s lack of commitment to quality is completely unacceptable. I will concede, as others have pointed out, that this is just a game. That being said, this issue, and others similar over the past year, show that while you have a spirit of gaming that other game producers sometimes lack, that spirit isn’t team with experience and wisdom to produce a solid, reliable and dependable world and experience in that world. I appreciate all of the hard work of the folks at NCSoft as it was very entertaining while it lasted. However, that experience was marred by entirely preventable mistakes by the NCSoft team. So NCSoft gets and A for effort and C for execution.
So others reading this have some insight, professionally I manage a system that handles money. Under no circumstances can I report that my team made a mistake and we lost money. Players here should demand that same level of service from NCSoft.

@cyber, just gotta learn the friendship face roll. in retrospect, a character named “Keyboard Face Roll” would have been better.
@blue i don’t want anyone from Arenanet looking at my account, really. i asked for help and got a suspension so the more anonymous i am, the better. also, chances are i won’t play again since this experience has sort of nerfed it for me. this thread is interesting though.

minor typo; it was Lol. didn’t know this was going to be forensically analyzed.
my account suspension was lifted by one of the support folks but i had to change every single character name on my account. all 6 of them. Arenanet can’t handle provocative names like Alasdair Kelemen or Radomir Zlatan Lol.
my new character names are just a face roll across the keyboard. there’s very little chance Loiewsfd Uklfiou ( or the like ) can be found offensive.
and @Mercury, yes, i created a support ticket and they suspended my account. ( when this thread was created i was getting a name challenge when trying to select a character; going to support resulted in a suspension [great support, huh?]) i then created a second ticket to get a more reasonable moderator who undid the suspension and let me rename my character(s). the first support ticket suspended my account until next sunday.
so issue resolved i suppose. probably won’t be playing again though.
name was “Radomir Zlatan LOL”. it was the gw2 version of my necromancer from GW1 who was named “Radomir Zlatan”. maybe there is some religious zealot somewhere who thinks LOL stands for Lucifer our lord. who knows.
I won’t be playing GW2 anymore if the in game thought police are this fascist.
just so everyone else can know how ridiculous my problem is….
one of my characters names contained “LOL” and that is offensive ( apparently ) so now my account has been suspended. Way to go ArenaNet.
i can log in into the game but when i select a character to play i am asked to provide that characters name. i didn’t proceed past that since you all should already have that.
