I’ll add my anecdotal experiences with joining Bell Choir. I rarely get the error message either the OP or Gaile mentioned. I do often run into the issue of joining during free play. I don’t agree with the idea that this occurs simply because free play is the longest part of Bell Choir. If that was the case, I would expect to join Bell Choir at random times during its length. I simply don’t see that. I reliably join within 30 seconds of the tenth minute(right at the beginning) or within 30 seconds of the fourth minute (Free play). I have found no reliable way to influence which scenario plays out. Neither quitting immediately and re-joining or waiting out the free play time seem to change the chances of getting a working instance. It is extremely frustrating to join during free play over and over, repeatedly watching loading screen after loading screen.
I will agree with Blockhead about the chances of seeing a fix. This undocumented feature has been a part of Bell Choir long enough too call it tradition.
I hear a lot of requirements for your potential server, but what i don’t hear is what you will bring as a commander. You say you want to move to a <insert server requirements> server…. if you wants, you pays. If a server wants you as a commander, then they recruit you and they pays. The situation we have here is you are asking someone else to pay, but you failed to mention what unique qualities you will bring as a commander. Just one more player with a dorito isn’t a strong sales pitch.
Nice work! We started at about 5pm PST with 0 ppt. BP had spent the day capping the map with no resistance. I do not blame other servers for population imbalance. I am sure players exist on all servers who would love regular, even numbered battles going on when they have time to play. As a long time Kaineng player, I have never heard anyone talking about how great it is to smash our faces into wall after wall with no players in sight. We play when we have the free time to play a video game, and we actively seek out fights when we can find them. As for transferring up, massive zergs, banners for days, and blimps and snow defending major structures….doesn’t sound like fun to me.
Happy St. Pats!
I can’t speak to ride the lightning, but the ranger staff leap combined with the greatsword leap provided access to WvW objectives bypassing certain walls and gates. Since gliding is not in WvW, I believe this is the driving force behind the quick and dirty fix of eliminating in air leaps entirely.
Edit: I wanted to add, I can also see an issue with in air leaps and gliding. The no fly zones would probably need to be bigger if a player could glide up to the zone followed by an in air leap.
I will miss being able to leap through the skies on both my eel and ranger, but if a skill is exploitable, unfortunately someone will exploit it. I hope they can find a different fix regarding this issue.
This message is the opinion of the poster alone. If pressed, I will disavow all knowledge of this post and its contents.

he doesnt read anything after he posts this… I have told him also that we don’t want permanent name, we want persistent names (that we can change if we want)[/quote]
But I do read your responses, I just don’t always reply. I understand what you want. You want your chosen pet names to stay and only change when you change them regardless of removing your pet from an active slot. I don’t see that happening. Each ranger currently has 2 modifiable 19 character slots in a database holding a name. You are asking for one for each pet which is 50. I have trouble seeing that as a reasonable resource request for ranger pet name convenience. I can, however, envision a system of name when you tame. This may not be exactly what you want, but I simply fear that could be a solution seen as feasible by a developer and I would much rather have our current system than any type of permanent name.
Hope that is clearer. Gobble Gobble!
I have posted this before, but my feelings haven’t changed.
At first, it was annoying having to rename my pet every time I swapped it out, but then I changed my perspective. No other class has two, 19 character banners they can change on the fly. I use them for holiday greetings, topical jokes, promoting companies or sports teams, etc. Nobody else can name their minions or summons. If the names are ever made permanent, we would lose this unique ability. Embrace our modifiable banners.
Unfortunately, this type of “communication” is becoming the norm. At one point we got platitudes like “We are aware of the issue” and “We are looking into it” to keep us quiet. Those stopped. Then we had a void with nothing but thread moderation. Now we get things like retroactively changing patch notes to reflect undocumented changes without an editing history and mass thread deletions. I used to come to the forums to learn about the state of the game…. Now I just come for my daily dose of salt.
To the OP, thanks for the chuckle. In response to the pet name deal, I feel the opposite. Make someone shoot milk out their nose from laughing today!
Since a few updates back, I am also having issues changing the prices on the TP. I have found I need to hover over the box I want to update for up to 10 seconds before I see a cursor appear. If I click before seeing the cursor appear, the result is unpredictable as to which field will change. This bug/feature is not game breaking, but it is pretty frustrating.
Look up the juvenile wolf’s location online and be prepared to make a few runs for it. Remember armor repair and WP’s are free so don’t get discouraged. Go with a build optimized for speed and stealth if you can.
As an activity, DB is fine. It has its haters and die hard fans just like any fun activity does. The problem comes from it being both a participation achievement and a win achievement. Being in two achievements means we must play DB in order to receive the laurel and satisfaction of daily festival achievements. People playing DB have two different goals; some are there to win, and some are there to get participation and get out. Since we have no way to choose our teams( Hate this by the way ), often there is conflict among team members over strategy or lack thereof. It is frustrating when you are playing to win and teammates are just trying to get it over with.
In short, DB is a fine activity brought down by reward mechanics which reward winning and participation among randomly assigned teams. This creates teams where individual members are trying for disparate goals.
It is my understanding that magic find only affects direct drops from mobs. Since champ drops come in the form of a chest, they are not affected by your magic find stat.
