I’ve played several mmo’s over the last 10 years and none of them have been without problems. What really stands out to this player is that Arenanet cares. They communicate with the player base frequently and honestly. (Unlike my previous game where it was all talk and not much else.) Since I started playing, I’ve watched a lot of dev interviews, etc. and I can sense the genuine passion they have for the game. That’s not to say the game is without problems. I’m just pleasantly surprised that Arenanet doesn’t make me feel that they are only interested in my wallet but about my experience and fun. It’s never really been about the money. Make content worth experiencing and the players will come and gladly pay.
I really wish this was true, but its always been about the money. Companys have gotten good about spinning things like how much they care for the customers ect. You see this in every industry not just gaming.

Dont insult gw1 instances with these easy mode dungeons in gw2. In gw1 if you wiped game over and thats just the beginning. In gw2 all you have to do is bum rush the bosses and make sure someone is up so the boss doesnt reset. thats worst case not sure what would happened if you tried lol. I cant believe he used DOA as a example thanks for the laugh i needed it.

Its because they want to force you to use the TP. People can still trade using the mail but your right you can be scammed. It doesnt stop gold sellers, all they do is mail you the gold. It made the gold sellers lifer easier or at least the person recieving the gold, they can always play stupid and say they have no idea where it came from and how would Anet prove other wise they cant lol.
With the old trade button Anet could look back and see what was traded and the value of the in game item and have proof that they traded gold straight up with nothing in return or the item the gold buyer gave the gold seller was junk. The old system wasnt perfect but like so many things in this game its a step backwards from the old.
