WAY too many disconnects mid-match

Hi – So, I’ve been tracking this trend. In my last 15 matches played, at least one person each round has either dc’ed or been dc’ed mid match (not necessarily on my team either). And I’m pretty sure only one of them was because of someone throwing a fit because we were down. 1:15 it was me, and I can confirm connectivity on my end because we host several web servers at our house, so I have logs of our up time to provide to our clients should it become necessary. Things started seeming a little cranky during the last pvp beta event. To be clear, my statistics only include yesterday and today’s data.

Any chance the hosting servers are causing this?

Just checking and bringing it to your attention if it’s not already in the queue somewhere.

Black Lion Chest - Duplicate Mini

I opened a Black Lion Chest today and a Miniature Hawk dropped. Normally, I’d be thrilled, but it happens that I have owned that mini for well over a year since it was first released in a package of three birds – the owl, the hawk and the raven. I really like the idea of the mini, but since it’s account bound I can’t sell the item and choose something else on my own with the proceeds. It’s one thing to be able to correct it yourself, but otherwise, I feel like the programming on the Black Lion Chests should include a comparison to the existing mini-catalog for the account opening the chest to prevent this problem in the future.

Aside: I did open a ticket and ask if support would simply give me a different mini. The answer was no and please go talk about it on the forums, so I did. Thx!

OMG – I am f-ing furious. I have killed these freaking knights several times now. This most recent time, the server dc’ed me after the blue boss, again after the green boss and we were halfway through the red boss when I was dc’ed again two more times before landing in some other overflow were NOTHING WAS EVEN DONE!!!!! NO LOOT. No moving on! Nothing!

I am seriously furious and normally, since I work in IT and know how hard it can be to test something thoroughly before a release, I give you guys the benefit of the doubt, but what did you expect? It’s the final part of the story line. Everyone wants to go kick Scarlett’s butt. The mere fact that the load on the server was too high – give me a break. You can attempt to blame it on my PC, but I have a T1 line to my home because of my work, traffic speed tests fine, all my clients are still up and running, and I even put my freaking PC to high performance to make sure no graphic glitches. 2 FPS at times before DC’s.

Absolutely ridiculous.

All Hour Buffs vanished during Knight fight.

So, not only could I not teleport to kill Scarlett with everyone else when we downed the three bosses, the death of the red boss wiped off all my hour long buffs that I saved up to use. I popped them just seconds before I started combat with the red boss.

More Defense Rewards in WVW?

While I liked the WVW Season 1 idea, it strikes me as very unfortunate that the main way to reach all the achievements in the shortest amount of time is to run around with a mass party again. Basically, unless we are commanders, we are little more than lemmings trailing around the map, hoping to get at least one hit in on the supervisors/lords before the zerg kills them.

Further, the fact that most of the achievements focus solely on offense is really short-sighted. For us to keep or maintain objectives, defense is required, even if it’s of the nature of scouting or sentry work on keep walls. Why can’t we have defense objectives that reward players for maintaining watch? Couldn’t sentry posts within an area be established and in order for someone to get an achievement for guard work, they have to interact with X number of them within a specific time frame?

I spent over two hours being stuck on keep sentry one night while guild parties went running off taking offensive objectives. If I were making badges of honor or WVW points while I was doing it, the task would have seemed more rewarding. If someone chooses to go on defense, they’re already electing to go without bags, tower/camp/keep/castle lord kills & the chests from them. As it was, the thanks we got for patrolling walls, other than knowing we had helped get keeps fully upgraded, was the commanders of the zergs criticizing how we handled opponent attacks when it was 1 vs. mob. A pretty thankless job on the whole.

More advanced tactics would have to be employed if more defense tasks were rewarded. The benefit of a scout or a patrol on the walls should not be discarded, but as it is, every person who presently protects existing assets rewards the server with PPT being added but also rewards the zerg offense, because it allows them the freedom to go off and have fun getting loot and killing players while the server status remains protected. The only ones not directly remunerated for effort are those actually doing camp/tower/keep/castle defense.

Hi. I’ve been playing GW2 for over a year and I agree with the vast majority of the comments under this thread. The content is coming too quickly and the achievements are taking constant dedication to the game, which not everyone can afford to do.

With The Nightmares Within, holy cow. Going through without a group of people amounts to ridiculousness. The people who haven’t finished their achievement chains are pretty much out of luck unless they happen to show up when some other random players are there. I am more than willing to participate in the Living Story arcs, but the sheer number of enemies, the inability to get out of attack areas, the insane respawn rate, the freaking arbitrary exploding plants – I get that Scarlet is chaos incarnate, but there is nothing fun about hardness just for the sake of it.

Add insult to injury as well – the chests within contain largely blues and greens. I have been faithfully salvaging every blue, green, gold and white item that I have in my inventory and my account is at 83% magic find. One would think that fact added to getting the crap beaten out of us on the way through the Nightmare, we might find a few more interesting items.

Event might have been a little more tolerable if the drones were at the chamber landings instead of only between the floors – therefore, once you completed a chamber, the drone was now available to warp to for your character. It would also help you identify which chamber was missing from your achievement track.

Anyway, I hope the feedback helps.
