Guild Wars 2

8/10 for both; fitting concepts.

i have 3 sylvari because i think they’re rad.

durhyn, the thief. a lightbringer with the order of whispers, durhyn’s wyld hunt is to gather powerful allies to fight the dragons with. the fact that he’s kind of a jerk but still assigned as a whispers liaison to the pact make his job somewhat difficult.

idsin, the warrior. an explorer with the priory, seeking a ritual to unbind a dark blade he has been cursed to carry.

vaers, the engineer. studied with charr and asuran engineers before joining the vigil as a combat engineer. i changed his face after the end of LS season 1 to reflect the idea that the battle with Scarlet left his face heavily scarred; probably my current favourite.

i’m not talking a monk profession—i think we have enough of those—i’m talking a new weapon. i’d rather play a warrior that just charges in and does pro-wrestling moves over a whole new class to play.

i’m serious. if i won some kind of arenanet-sponsored lottery to put something in the game, anything, it wouldn’t be super useful stuff like precursor crafting or adjusting wvw.

i would put in fistfighting.

obviously this wouldn’t work unarmed, but with a fist-styled weapon like brass knuckles (i ran thunderfist’s brass knuckles on my gw1 assassin for this exact reason), or spiked gauntlets, or what have you. the closest we have to this are the warrior’s physical utilities attached to the Strength line, but it’s not enough.

i want to be able to pummel dragon minions into the ground with my (somewhat) bare hands.

so i made a sylvari engineer not that long ago to run through the game with (because the irony of a walking plant wielding a flamethrower is grand), and i’ve enjoyed the story options almost as much as the asuran ones.

but i get this kind of strange feeling that caithe is interested—romantically—in the sylvari pc, judging by her letters. we all know that faolain and caithe have a history together, and neither seem over the other (which is understandable, because we all tend to love people despite their flaws). obviously it’s possible to develop feelings for somebody even if you’re already a little involved with somebody else, since this happens all the time.

the wording of caithe’s letters just strikes me as those of a person who is attracted to or deeply attached to another. the sylvari pc and caithe obviously share the same (very difficult) wyld hunt and may be the only person who can understand the other, which would of course produce feelings of closeness at least.

i’m rambling a little. what do you guys think? is caithe invested in the pc on a romantic level, or do they just share feelings of intense closeness from having similarly difficult situations? do you have any headcanons for your pc regarding this?
