I have, we had a nice discussion about Traveler Runes a bit back on an older video of yours in the comment section. Hobbies aside (Great vid again btw) do you still play around with core guard or is DH stapled in?
Yeah shield is fun and you can set up some nice combos with it. If i rock a SW i obviously mix zeal in the traits with carrion armor, ive gotten my biggest ticks with that set up but usually have only my virtues for sustain so i tend to play it less since i usually solo roam and am outnumbered. If you manage to land the full combo pf, knock back with shield through pf, and then pull back in with spear of justice thats a definite downed player. Very fun and rewarding combo/set up. O and with the guard runes and amplified wrath its 2 burns per block :p
I play with traits a lot and yes the virtues is almost the only reason i take dh. though hunters fortification is nice against heavy condi builds and the stab from fragments of faith always helps. In most clips im wearing carrion armor with balth runes but some clips i have dire with travelers. I also play with gear a lot. Been mixing trailblazers in slowly and sticking more with the travelers set up. Wish i could give you traits but i am all over the place as guard has plenty of good options, i can tell you that radiance is stapled in and if im taking dh then i usually drop virtues. The one scene i have 15k hp, i was playing a silly trailblazers/settler set up with mace and guardian runes. Focusing more on the burn on block trait while using symbols, dodges, and aegis for sustain.
Been having a blast on condi DH and have now dropped core guard completly, but had a great discussion/debate to reconsider with a guildy who had some great pointers. If you run a burn guard, everything (except maybe hammer) works fine. play with what you like most. i agree focus is better then shield but with shield you can pull off some nice combos like : connect Spear of Justice, lay down Purging Flame, pull them into your consecration then knocked them back out with Shield of absorption. resulting in at least 9stacks. Posted a vid recenty (my first one so its full of mistakes) and about a minute in im playing a mace build, another decent weapon for a condi build since you apply burn on block and mace 3 (protectors strike) is a very short cd when traited and applies aegis when used.
