The basis for some of the arguments here seem to stem from the issue that the final event of Lost Shores was a limited one-time event. Anet’s response during AMA:
“Moving forward we are going to do our best to design events that are accessible to the community as possible. We really should have thought about some of the ramifications of the design of the Karka event in more detail. My 2 cents: It’d be awesome if people played the events or dungeons just for the fun of it, but there will always be players that play to get the end reward. They have every right as anyone else to enjoy this game in their own way.
The “Defend Applenook from the pirate attack” has been stuck at wave 7/8 with 2 villagers alive for at least 20 hours now. This is the event in Cornucopian Fields in Gendarran Fields for Tarnished Coast server. I’ve reported this in game already.
Game crashed at exactly the same time for me except I wasn’t doing anything significant. I had just completed the Megadestroyer event in Maelstrom, looted the chest, and grabbed a lava rock as a souvenir on my way out…. Maybe it was the lava rock that did it.
Same as Scionfall. I tried to rez at a waypoint but was stuck on loading screen. Finally, I heard the event end and waited a bit longer to see if it would finish loading with people leaving the zone. I thought I could possibly loot the chest since it was a 2-3 hour event but I was stuck on loading screen. I ended up logging out and joined the same overflow (had a buddy in party) but there was no chest for me. This was utterly disappointing for me since I hardly received any drops from mobs (only white items). I wish I would have logged out to begin with so I could rejoin the event and get a chance at the chest.
