Guild Wars 2

I have a Radeon HD7950 that I bought a few months ago prior to getting GW2. The game ran great up until the last patch. Default settings are all at maximum and haven’t had any issues and consistently getting over 60FPS in most areas.

Lately (past few days) I’ve noticed without any changes to my settings that the fans on my GPU are extremely loud and my graphics card is running VERY hot. I can turn the graphics all the way down and have a very crappy experience with this game, or I can have the graphics at normal and risk damaging my system.

This is no way to play a game I’ve spent $60 dollars on and another $50 in gem purchases. As a paying customer who really wants to enjoy this game, I am finding it very difficult to do so with all the headaches involved. I can’t justify paying for this game when I can’t even play it safely and under promised conditions. Is it possible to get a refund? Can I at least get some answers?

I see in the FAQ that the GW2 team has suggested I change my system settings to cater to this game specifically. I shouldn’t have to change my graphic hardware settings to cater to just one game out of the dozens I play. And what is to say those settings won’t mess up the game in the next patch? The game was working fine until recently. Somebody should put it back.

I just bought a 7950 a few months ago and everything was OK until recently. Now it’s running very loud and I’m too afraid to play the game because I don’t want to damage my GPU. Other games run fine. It’s upsetting because I just paid full price for this game in March and I also sank over $50 in fees to transfer servers and buy some cool items from the gem shop. Now I can’t play unless I want to risk having to buy another 300 dollar GPU. WTF?
