Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone,
I’ve decided to come back to GuildWars2 after almost an entire year’kittenus. I was 80 when I left, so still there. I’m looking for some advice and guidance on what I should be doing now in the game. I’m not in a guild and I don’t really do PvP.

I’ve read that I should be working towards Ascended gear but can’t find much on how exactly to accomplish that. I’ve read obal’s post and watched his youtube but everything just says “get this” without much on how to accomplish that (other than buying on market).

I recently purchased 2 Berserker Exotic rings and a Berserker amulet and switched to an Exotic Berserker greatsword with a Rare torch/focus as the other set.

Do I simply need to be running dungeons X, Y and Z over and over to get the gear via random drops? Or do I need to be powerleveling a crafting profession?

Just looking for a master who can help this padawan learn the ways. :-)

I’m on the Mac client. Latest updates to everything. I’m coming back to the game after almost a year away.

Previously, if I right-clicked my mouse I could pan the camera around my character nice a easy.

Today, if I right-click and move the mouse, the camera just spins around my character. Even moving the mouse up/down still spins the camera left/right.

I’ve disabled the gesture controls to no avail.

And ideas on how to get back a smooth camera operation?

About a year ago, I purchased 2 copies of GW2 for myself and my son. About 6 months ago, we stopped playing cause life got in the way.

Now it is summer time, and we have a bit more free time.

I was able to remember my account password and have logged in OK.

However, my son cannot remember his password and the password recovery tool asks for the serial # in addition to a character name.

I have both serial numbers but not sure which one belongs to his account. Additionally, he cannot remember any of his character names.

How can we authenticate to customer support so we can get his account reset? Is there a phone # we can call? I can provide the CC# I used to purchase the game online and other information.

Surprisingly, a reboot of my mac fixed this. Ugh. Stupid Windows-esq solution. But I was at wits end to figure this out. Turns out, though, that if you google that error code, it has something to do with bad math in Windows programming. So not Mac’s fault after all!! (since the mac client is just a wrapper)

This just started for me today. I followed the link above and did what was said. No help. Game still crashes with said error message.

There appears to be some sort of bug with the character select screen. If I launch the game (in auto-play mode) and step away to get a drink, I usually come back only to find my laptop has rebooted due to kernel panic.

If I repeat the launch process but quickly click ‘Play’ before everything loads, game loads fine.

How can I send the crash dumps to GW2 developers so this can be investigated/fixed?
