Thank you for the reply, been away with work and fitness training. The Guild looks promising, I am hoping to get into GW more this weekend as it is bank holiday and bound to rain

I’d suggest that a PS Warrior — that is, “Phoenix Strength”, which shares might with the team, plus banners — is also in the “support” bracket.

Really, though, I feel like the “support” role question shows a misunderstanding of how the game actually plays out, in that nobody is “just support”; everyone does DPS.

Sadly it might be the case, I am a support player in other MMORPGS and have done in every game i have played.

Though the normal stance is to assist with an understanding of how the game operates.

My core ethos in a group when i play is not to be top of meters but fore-fill a role that will help the group complete content, so in your wealth of knowledge, what category would you put this under in GW, so i get the terminology correct?

Can’t believe no EU guilds are interested in building their player base with some fresh meat

Hi,

I am coming back into the GW fray, are there any guilds in the EU that raid but has a casual schedule.

I am now in my 18th year of playing MMORPGs and I have always played support classes, so looking for a group that want to do all content, but dont have a strict WoW style 3-4 nights a week raid schedule.

Hi,

I am returning after an extremely long break.

I played a bit of mesmer back just after release, but with lack of content after the story, I left.

The game looks vibrant and I would really like to do some raiding.

Which is the best support class for a newb or learner? 1, to be needed 2, so i can learn tactics and raid mechanics

Hi,

I haven’t played since release and a few months after.

I’ve decided that in my gaming cycle GW2 deserves a decent shot.

what are the desired support classes? I assume as the game is well established to experience it all, it would be best to start with a desired class and spa out from there.

I like to play AOE solo, usually caster. but in group content I go support role, either: tank, healer or debuffer

what classes would people suggest?

Any help with finding a guide or some sort of forum discussion would be great. my question primarily falls to what is the ‘most effective’ way to be a tank as a mesmer in GW2?

I been hoping around the forums trying to work out the best way to go with my new level 80 mesmer.

I have 3 friends who play regularly, but they are all set on DPS, this I worry leaves the group dynamic a little glass cannon when it comes to dungeons etc.

I am looking for a build that I can solo farm when I need materials or exploration or even when i want to WvW later, but when i enter a dungeon I can be the ‘Man’, I dont know Guild Wars 2 well enough to say whether that is a control or support role or even something else. The closest I can say my aim is to be the ‘tank’ so to speak.

Levelling I used a staff/GS and basically called in my illusions shattered them for the vulnerability debuff and called in more.
