Rename Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe and place it wherever you’d like to install it, such as C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe. Running Gw2.exe will “install” the game to its current folder.

If you have a 64-bit OS, you might as well skip Gw2Setup.exe entirely and go with Gw2-64.exe. To make things simple, also rename it to Gw2.exe.

I am experiencing this exact same problem on a windows 10 64 bit os. I have tried just about everything healix suggested save starting in safe mode, is this a bug in the current build or is there some way to sidestep it that I am missing?

Yea, i was literally pulling my hair becouse of this. But i think i found a solution or maybe the game thought i would look hideous as a bald guy, unequip all kits. Like, Flamethrower/ Elixir Gun etc. From both your standard setup and water and it will keep the gun, atleast did for me.

I tried this and it did not work for me.
