Been playing a lot more PvP lately since I have a guild interested in tPvP and I’ve noticed something. I’m not sure what’s triggering it since I don’t always notice it right away, but my rune, sigils, and amulet for my PvP build keep resetting to the defaults at seemingly random intervals.
Something the devs could take a look into? Its kind of annoying when you’re trying to play a zerk shatter mesmer and your amulet keeps switching to soldier stats without warning.
(Hadn’t seen a post on this and nothing turned up in the search so forgive me if this has already been brought up.)

Ticket #546737, submitted the 16th for gem refunds on town clothes and duplicate skin purchases.
I’ve sent replies updating my ticket twice and received no communication since the original submission and no refund. Posted in another forum but didn’t realize this one was here, so I figured I should post to this one instead.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
I submitted my refund request ticket Wednesday afternoon (around 2:30 pm on the 16th) and almost immediately received a response saying:
“I’m transferring your ticket to a member of the Guild Wars 2 Support Team to further assist you. Someone will be in contact with you as soon as possible.”
… but I’ve heard nothing since. After reading up on some community forums with people talking about their refund requests, I realized I left a lot of detail out of mine and added more to it early Saturday afternoon. Still have yet to receive any other sort of response or acknowledgement of my ticket, and still have not received my refund. I know you guys are swamped (that statement doesn’t even merit a probably to it), but I’m worried I may have gotten lost in the system since some people have received multiple responses to their tickets.
Request number was 546737 if that’s of any additional help.

Everything had been working fine for me since patch, then this bug hit me today too, as well as my gather nodes in my home instance have not reset. I’m not really sure I feel like going out into the world to see what else may have bugged for me now too.
I am not a happy customer right now.

They’ve been putting out different infinte gathering tools every so often in a cycle. Currently available is the Frost Wasp Logging tool. Just keep an eye on the gem store.

At least on Tarnished Coast there are Sylvari-centric RP guilds that used to gather in The Grove and do really interesting and enjoyable RP. Note that I say used to.
Since the megaserver hit The Grove I haven’t seen those guilds around, possibly because I’m not actually in any of those guilds but I really enjoyed what they added to the game. I’ve seen literally no RP in The Grove since the megaserver took it over, and I really miss it.
So Divinity’s Reach may be the unofficial hub of RPing, but for me it was my home in The Grove that has been stripped of much of it’s charm and immersion. And that’s sad.
We’re still there. I for one haven’t tried rping since the patch because of the griefing and trolling I’ve heard of and also seen happening to other rpers first hand. It’s ranged from people emoting or asking in map why there’s RP in the Grove to people straight up confronting said RPers and telling them to get out of the map.
This kind of behaviour combined with me having to tell several people off for inappropriate comments in map chat (ranging from kitten jokes to other forms of harassment, things I rarely if EVER saw on TC outside of WvW) has me not wanting to play the game at all. To be honest I’ve logged out extra early almost every day since patch. If it doesn’t improve I don’t know what I’m going to do but I definitely won’t be as loyal of a player and customer as I have been to date.

The account bound karma boost isn’t working either. The amount received and amount listed on the event medal would be different if it were. I noticed this bug as well this morning while running in EotM.

The town clothing items mentioned as no longer being in the gem store were removed from the gem store in mid December. The official reason given was “streamlining” the gem store and players then rushed to buy them on the assumption that this was their last chance to get limited time items.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-December-10-2013
As you have said, it’s a bit of a stretch to believe they did not have the outlines of the feature patch known by December. If they did have this change planned by then, the best that can be said of the way they removed those items is that it was deceptive. If they knew they were being removed because their functionality was being radically altered, they should have said so rather than going with the excuse of “streamlining,” putting up countdown timers in the gem store next to each of the items, and specifically stating in the patch notes that “Players who previously purchased these items will still retain the ability to use them” which any reasonable person at the time would have read as a reassurance that no significant changes would be made to the items.
This is where I feel extremely mislead and wronged by these changes. I didn’t care that I couldn’t have any more town clothes. I do care that my usage of them is being changed in such a drastic way that it makes them literally worthless to me.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
Also, I think the Charges provided by Stones and Crystals should be altered. 1 Stone should equal 1 charge and 1 Crystal should be worth 3 charges. It seems odd that transmuting Level 79 and under items is suddenly going to triple in cost.
Or at least 2 stones to 1 charge, and 1 crystal to 2 charges. Just something more balanced than the current proposition. 1 to 1 on the charges or higher than 2 to 1 on the crystals could result in some crazy imbalances as I know some people with fewer characters are sitting on a stack or more of transmutation stones.

To me, there are just too many backdraws with this update. I am happy about the dyes and skin unlock, but not only are many of my town clothes being taken away, I will also no longer be able to use the headpieces as before. I did not purchase sunglasses to wear in combat, but now my only way to use them will be to pay a charge to put the look on a combat item. I do not want this, and would have protested against it in a CDI thread. Leveling will be less fun as well since I will not be able to afford transmuting below 80 skins as I level now that they will cost the same to transmute as 80 skins. I understand that you want to make money, but sneakingly adding a high cost to a much-used quality of life feature we have come to rely on but have not had to pay for in the past feels pretty low.
My lovely guildee brings up another really good point about this wardrobe conversion that I’m extremely upset by (albeit unrelated to the town clothes and costumes general argument of this thread but Combo already mentioned it here so I’m going to run with it… feel free to transplant this post to another more appropriate thread if you like devs!). I have 21 character slots, 20 of which are currently filled, with all intentions to buy more in the future as I go through leveling the characters I have to 80. I can’t give an exact amount because I know some of the slots were on sale, but that’s well over $100 that I’ve paid out to ArenaNet for said extra slots over the 5 basic ones that are given to us. I’d like to think myself and others like me are quite a large chunk of the profit margin from the gem store.
One of my things about leveling my alts is I loathe the starter armors. My first trip with a character is to the PvP locker to set out a look for them to have at 80, which I go out and get for them at that time if it is reasonable to do so. If said look is too expensive (Tier 3 cultural, dungeon armors, etc.), then they also get a leveling look that I buy for them immediately and they keep until they hit level 80 and sometimes after. This involves transmutation every 10 or so levels to keep their stats within reason and not make the leveling process any more difficult than it already is.
Dressing them up is fun and makes the leveling process all that much more enjoyable for me, especially now that I have 11 level 80s, at least one of every profession, and I’ve done world completion twice. Suddenly tripling the cost of this for me is not going to get any extra money out of me, its going to force me to either a) not dress up my alts until they reach cap (which will upset me greatly as some take months to get there) or b) increase the amount of levels inbetween stat transmutations to cut the cost of charges through their trek to 80 (which will make said leveling that much more lengthy, frustrating, and all that much less enjoyable for me as a player.)
I already feel like I can’t take my alts to do anything before they hit level 80 (dungeons, living story, fractals, etc.) but this alongside the trait changes is going to make me want to play my under 80 characters even less.
This in combination with the proposed town clothes changes, which I have already previously mentioned my grievances with, has really soured my attitude toward and has me really kind of dreading the feature patch even though there are numerous other parts of it that I should be and am really excited for! Devs please listen to us and our feedback and consider some changes and tweaks to the system!

My two cents on this: Mesmer is hard enough to level as it is. I’ve gotten two to 80 in my time in GW2. Putting traits off until 30/60/80 is just going to make this harder since certain traits that have been my safe haven while leveling are now getting pushed farther back. I’m just afraid its going to feel like even more of a struggle than it’s already been for certain classes, net even just Mesmer as I mentioned.
And re: Gumball, I get what you’re trying to say, and if that’s what they’re trying to accomplish good! The game could use some revitalization, especially for us veterans. I simply don’t think this is a way to go about accomplishing that, and would like to voice that opinion.

Yes outfits are all or nothing.
Yes wearable in combat. There will be no non-combat equipment anymore, unless you count tonics.
The endless tonic will grant the appearance of the clothing it replaced. (along with some appropriate complimentary pieces so you’re not naked). They are new tonics, not existing ones.
Only one tonic can be used at one time.
There will be no town-clothes swap any more.. so you won’t be switching to naked.
To the people saying that there’s too much speculation going on or who can’t be bothered to read back on the thread, these two posts in conjunction with the blog post make it sound pretty clear:
Town Clothes sold through the gem store as outfits, such as the Pirate Captain’s Outfit, will be usable as a single outfit skin through the Wardrobe. Purchasing an outfit will unlock it for all characters on your account to use. Outfits will replace the look of equipped armors, are equipped in a separate appearance slot, and do not require Transmutation Charges to use. Single items, such as the Fuzzy Hats and Scarlet’s Spaulders, will be unlocked for your entire account and usable with any armor weight. Some basic clothing items that are no longer available for purchase will be converted into endless tonics.
The only assumption/jump to conclusion being made here that hasn’t been specifically outlined for us is that these “no longer available for purchase” items are indeed our mix and match town clothes that were pulled from the gem store in December (hoodie/shorts/riding pants, etc.).
All I’m saying is it sounds like a fairly sound conclusion to be reaching and there isn’t really that much jumping involved. It seems pretty clear to me.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
Couldn’t agree more.
EDIT : I don’t want a refund on my purchased town clothes. I want to be able to use them and mix them as i used to.
I have to say I would prefer this outcome, being able to use it the way I used it before. But if that is not possible, I won’t use it, I paid for something different, so naturally I would be wanting my gems back so I can buy something else from it that I can use what I have bought it for.
Same. If we can salvage this, no refund necessary. If the current functionality is taken away though, I want my money back because it will not be what I paid for.

I’m rather anxious about this update, largely due to the little information we’ve gotten concerning town clothes. As I understand it, this update is about making customization easier. Town clothes is part of that customization. Wouldn’t it make more sense to add them to the wardrobe as individual pieces, the same as the rest of the skins? A lot of the community has invested a lot of money/gems/gold/time into getting those town clothes, the same as others would for weapons and armor, and the tonics part of this update feels rather like a slap in the face in my opinion.
While you are losing some customization options, you will be able to wear your town clothes outside of town. I think that’s more than a fair trade-off.
Not if we can’t wear the combinations we wish to with dyes of our choosing. The town clothes in question are the single pieces that we’ve so far been told are being turned into endless tonics.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
I would vote that town clothes be added to the wardrobe pool as separate skins. They are already individualized items now. A lot of people enjoy mixing and matching town clothes and also would like to wear town clothes in combat. Without knowing the technical hurdles involved, I believe that keeping them as individualized items is the best compromise to satisfy the largest quantity of players.
As someone who has paid real money for some of the town clothes, I am disappointed at this change and reduction of enjoyment in my financial investment. To me, this is poor business practice and makes me hesitant of investing financially going forward.
I have to second this. 100%

I have never before threatened to stop buying stuff from the gem store. Even when it came to the flamekissed I just quietly asked for my gems back and was satisfied to get them.
But now I have 4500 gems invested in 16 sets and pieces of town clothes I will not be able to use the way I desired to do when I bought them and have used them since purchase. I think, at this point I would have to say that I will no longer look forward to new items from the gem store and will be reluctant to purchase anything since I have no idea what will happen to it a few weeks down the line.
^ This. I own 17 different pieces of mix and match items (not including the glasses/sunglasses/quaggan hats I also purchased), and two Wintersday sets. I’m going to be expecting most (if not all of it) refunded if the changes that seem to be happening indeed do. It’s also going to leave a very bad taste in my mouth and put me off from playing not only a game I love, adore, and have put far more hours into than I’d prefer to discuss, but one I have fought to defend the good parts of.
This is not one of those good parts.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
Information about town clothes are very foggy, I would say calm down and wait for further info cause it all seems a bit confusing.
It is and I am waiting but what we have been told hasn’t been positive from my perspective, so I’ve been voicing my opinion in the relevant thread in the mean time. I was just giving my two cents’ response to OP’s question about attitude changes regarding the patch. ;)
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
People, you all need to realize something: ANet can’t make changes fast enough to NOT do this. It’s set in stone, game over.
While you make a fair point that our words here probably will not get this changed by the time the feature patch releases, getting our disagreement out there right now makes the possibility of getting this change repealed and/or remedied with a different solution amicable to both sides faster/sooner rather than later more possible/likely.
Negative feedback on things the playerbase disagrees with is important, so while it may be futile for immediate change it is necessary and justified.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
I am ecstatic for a few changes, granted all these things actually happen like they seem they will:
- No more armor skins clogging up my bank because they were a one time thing and I haven’t found someone I want to use them on yet (gas mask, etc.)
- I never have to grind through personal story for the exclusive skins found there again
- If I want another Light of Dwayna back piece just for its looks and not its stats? I may never have to make another one.
- I can have the skin of my precursor (The Lover) back without having to spend stupid amounts of gold or grind out crafting its look alike (which is almost equally expensive)
- My Aether pistol skin (which is now selling for 290g on the to last I checked) I never have to purchase a duplicate for, and can give to all my pistol weilding alts as it is my favourite skin
- In the same line, I never have to craft another Vision of the Mists or Anomaly (I own three of the later) when I don’t even use the berserker stats they come with and always have to transmute them to different stats anyways.
- If I accidentally delete my medium aetherblade shoulder skin again via transmutation I can easily get it back without spending another 800 gems on another whole skin set
- I never have to buy another Celestial or Abyss dye as I own both on at least one or up to three characters. A lot of unnecessary gold spending has now been remedied.
- Put shorty: this wardrobe change will cut down on a lot of really unnecessary and unpleasant grinding for me that I’ve been putting off because of said unpleasantness.
Why I’m angry and upset with the changes announced today:
- I have in my posession probably easily $50+ in gems worth of the mix and match town clothes that were taken off the gemstore in December
- ArenaNet is changing how said clothes work in a way I disagree with because it takes away my control over how I can use them and my appearance while using them (which was the whole point of buying them to begin with)
- This seems like another move against the roleplaying crowd which gets enough grief as it is (we only take up one server why are we such a problem?)
- This move is being made in a way that is a step backwards in the larger scope: features we already have in the game and can currently enjoy are being taken away, which makes little to no sense.
That’s the long and short of it from me.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
Devs, please do not take the mix and matching for town clothes out of the game. I spent probably close to $30 on gems back in December (when you said you were taking them off the gem store) to nab what I wanted at the time for my characters JUST out of those items, and I’d really like to retain my ability to wear and dye them as I please across my account. I DO NOT want tonics that I have no control over what they look like be it the arbitrary pieces you think match with them or the dye schemes I probably will have no ability to change. I DO NOT want to be stuck with the entire default town clothes set either if I don’t wish to be (see the second image in the line up, my first move is ALWAYS to delete the shoes of the sylvari default town clothes because I hate them).
Don’t take away features that are already in the game, don’t take away content we already have. Its a step backwards it the middle of an update that I was otherwise thrilled to the point of happy tears about. If I want to run around Tyria barefoot in a hoodie and shorts in colors of MY choosing whenever I choose to, these town clothes that I paid for with gems bought with actual money, then I really think I should be able to retain that ability that I already have.

I had mixed results on the being transported out of LA. I logged in on my main who had been by the asura gate hub and was given the cutscene and then moved to Bloodtide Coast in accordance with my OoW allegiance. Logged in on an alt who had been parked on top of the bank for the lulz and spawned in Lion’s Arch on top of what was left of the bank instead of Lornar’s.
Edit: both of these characters are level 80 so I doubt that has much to do with it.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
I got back in again for about a good 15 minutes only to have my party member disconnect and then myself follow a few minutes later.
I’ve been using this site (http://www.mmoserverstatus.com/guild_wars_2) to check on the server status and all the US servers have been flipping between off and online and having really high pings.
And to second what Kurr said, I saw the same comments made on their twitter and the time coincided with this bout of crashing so I wouldn’t be shocked it that’s actually what it is.
Avalise [Sylvari Thief]
I’ve gotten back on three times now and kicked within five minutes after massive lag every single time. Would really love to hear what’s up.
