I like it, don’t take it away.
The post actually asks for an option to turn it off.
It most likely won’t be changed, a lot of people didn’t like the herald spec effects on the ground and wanted a way to turn it off but never got acknowledged.
Oh yeah, Herald’s ugly thingy on the ground is the worst I’ve seen in GW2.
It looks good alternative to us poor people that don’t have access to legendaries and infusions.
Keep the aura. Make it bigger and more dense too.
I propose removing the character altogether and leaving just a green blob to make those legendary wearers eat their own hat.
Attaching the screenshot. C’mon devs, give us an option to turn that green thing off, it’s obscuring the view of the character I spent hours customising. And it’s plain annoying to look at all the time.

Player turns into an amphibian dragon, dives on Quaggan settlements and burns/crushes/devours their homes. The little quaggan run/swim around on fire/bleeding and are like “OoooOOoOoOooooo weee arreeee screeeewed”.
I’d also like to suggest a community event: if a million quaggan are killed within a week, Quaggan are removed from game as the most annoying race ever.
Can’t find a setting to disable Soulbeast’s effects on my character. That enveloping green fog is distracting. It’s too obtrusive, if I’m using the right word. It screams at you for attention, but I already know I’m in Soulbeast, okay? I don’t need that thing on my screen all the time. And I plan on running in perma-Soulbeast, so I’d very much like that effect to be gone, at least on my screen. Please add that option.
Another argument to be able to remove it is, people spend hours customising their character’s appearance – clothes, weapons, colors. And it all gets ruined by that unnecessary visual effect.

The GS skin is the first and only I’ve purchased from the Privateer set so far. Just love it. Complex enough to be interesting, and a good size compared to the many very oversized models in this game. I got the Axe from a wardrobe unlock. I’ve been considering the 1H Sword as well.
Yes, the one handed is perfect!
Hi, devs!
I’ve been searching for a decent GS skin for a long, long, long time. Most of them are simply silly. They don’t look like swords, they look like shovels. Or just … nondescript ugly things.
However! You started selling Belinda’s Greatsword at the gem store and it was really good, finally something elegant and pretty and it was a great step forward.
And Privateer’s Greatsword is even better, it’s just ideal. It’s elegant, and more brutal than Belinda’s and somehow feels high-tech-ish. I love it. And I’m super grateful you allowed us to have it.
Cheers.
Nevermind the sound.
In top/right corner is the monitor’s built-in FPS counter. It’s a G-Sync monitor, running in G-Sync mode.
Also if you look at the waypoint’s floating particles you can clearly see how it’s slowing down and speeding up in pretty even pulses. So FPS goes like 90 … 40 … 90 … 40.
I tried relocating to other areas – same thing, except render-heavy areas just have lower max FPS value, 70 for example, but it’s still 70 … 30-40 … 70 … 30-40.
I’ve never seen anything like that in GW2, I’ve got latest Windows updates, latest Nvidia drivers, no antivirus or anything else running in background and no such problem in other games.
Any advice?
Running Win 10 Pro 64-bit, Asus GTX 980 Ti, 16G ram, SSD, HDD raid, i5 4670K @ 3.4Ghz.

Having the certainty that when I come out of “Self-Regulating Defenses” i’ll have my main weapon equiped is actually pretty sweet, that way I know which buttons to press when I come out of it (eg. >dodge>toolkit>block). I think it’s easy to miss which kit you were in when the trait proc’ed.
Make it a gameplay setting.
Something like “[x] Automatically equip last engineer kit that you used but didn’t explicitly unequip.”

I know, right! Trying to play the actual game and getting this annoying behavior instead.
I run with flamethrower all the time. If I go underwater and back I get reverted to rifle. If I automatically drink elixir that shrinks me to avoid death, I get reverted to rifle when I unshrink. If I change map, I get reverted back to rifle.
This is truly annoying.
A fix would be greatly appreciated.
What is its effect exactly? It says “Unblockable (5s) x2” – does it mean two of my attacks within the next 5 seconds will be unblockable?
I’m seeing a lot of battles where I’m pounding a blocking enemy and all I see is “Block” with no damage.
Thank you for response, however I’m presently in a casual guild with no guildies to do fractals where half of them are in wvw, so it’d be barely a change.
Hi,
I’m interested in a guild with the following things in mind:
1. Farming fotm for mist essences (ascalon battlefield, dredge).
2. Doing dungeons for fun, not speedruns and without skipping.
3. People don’t do PvE just to get better gear for WvW – ideally, a guild that doesn’t do WvW at all.
4. At least 95% of the members actually represent all the time.
5. Semi-hardcore, that is, take the runs seriously, no quitters, if you started something you finish, but nobody forces you into starting the run in the first place.
6. Mature, friendly, solid community.
Examples of a guild I wouldn’t want:
50% of people online don’t represent.
of those who represent 50% are in wvw.
of those left nobody wants to do a fotm ever.
About myself:
Play a tanking mace/shield/longbow warrior, love fotm (19 atm), exploration, jumping puzzles, helping guildies levelling up, teaching new guys any stuff, like taking totally green people into fotm or any dungeons, don’t ever quit, don’t rage. 30 years old, can be on teamspeak and in general play every day. UTC+3.
Currently on Far Shiverpeaks as Wilem Amigonnadie.
It’s been about a week that Marga’s bugged. I created in-game report but it had zero effect.
Well, BioWare is moving to Frostbite 2. And Bethesda is moving to Unreal Engine. Perhaps there really is no need to reinvent the wheel over and over again.
So what you are saying is that they give no guarantees to uphold 60 FPS at all times? I wonder what their official stance on this is.
Because I just feel it hard to believe that ArenaNet would deliberately create maps that will give slideshow performance even to users with high-end hardware and with all in-game video settings set to Low.
So I’ve got a simple question.
Fact 1. GTX 580 is listed as fourth among the high-end video cards at http://www.videocardbenchmark.net . Which means it has just 11% lower performance compared to the the most advanced videocard you could buy.
Fact 2. There are many cases where GW2 would drop below 60 FPS running on top of GTX 580 with “Best performance” in-game settings (which makes the game look like total crap btw). One example: Ligacus Aquilo Waypoint, turn around and look at the Black Citadel that towers above you. If I move the camera slightly, FPS is about 50-53. If I stop moving it, FPS is stable 55.
So the question is: when designing maps, how do ArenaNet’s developers assure its quality?
Do they test on “Best performance”? Do they test on “Best appearnce” ? What is their minimum FPS requirement for both settings and on what hardware? Is it even possible to purchase such a PC configuration that will guarantee the game will not drop below 60 FPS?
I thought that maybe, because I bought my PC a year ago, it was somehow outdated. I checked http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpukittenml to see how far back my video card was and it turns out it’s not back at all.
What, then? 16G of RAM is not enough?
Both GW2 and Windows running on SSD is not enough?
Intel i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz is not enough?
Latest drivers, of course?
You know, this issue totally lost me.
Are they doing this on purpose, I mean such maps that will not render within 60 FPS? Even when you tell the game “screw quality, just make it run fast”?
I don’t know what to think.
Just found this thread because I thought Sayeh was sounding like Admiral Raan. kitten when she speaks, makes me think we’re fighting Reapers, not dragons.
1. I’d like to be able to do permanent Stow because there are only a few cases where a Pet is helpful (for my play style). There are many places where pet is making it worse, however.
Attacking mobs as I run through them and dodge for example, that puts me into a combat mode and cuts my run speed severely.
Or it steps onto a trap in the FOTM Swamp and and trap hits me even though I’m just standing nearby.
Or it gets out when I take falling damage and starts attacking nearby foes.
Or it jumps on the champion ice elemental in FOTM and keeps it from moving to the shower spot.
And it’s useless with dungeon bosses anyway, it dies all the time. So a perm stow would be great, thank you.
I just want to make it go away until I decide I need it.
Having no hotkey for Stow, I have to click it with mouse all the time and it’s very inconvenient.
2. Make pet skills activate the pet. For example, the pet is stowed and I call for Search And Rescue. What happens? Well, nothing, the precious cooldown is wasted.
3. I’m sure it was asked for before. Please remember the pets’ names, no need to reset them all the time when you change to another pair.
I’m a newbie in the guild, joined about three weeks ago and liking it very much. I was new to the game and learned many things from our friendly members. Fractal runs, dungeons, exploring the world with our 80s. I can always ask for advice or about a game mechanic in the chat, do an interesting or entertaining reading on our forums or just have a hilarious time on the public Teamspeak server.
And then of course there’s world versus world, I didn’t even know the game had such a terrific pvp game-within-game in it until I joined the guild and was encouraged to give it a try. I’m mostly a PvE person but got sucked into WvW pretty quickly and loving it still, especially as teamwork skills grow with experience. I take great pleasure from our runs, we’ve got some good commanders who also do introductory WvW runs and help newbies (like myself) get familiar with its complexities.
